• ஆசிய அமெரிக்கர்கள் மீதான வன்முறையை தடுக்கும் மசோதாவில் அமெரிக்க அதிபர் ஜோ பைடன் கையெழுத்திட்டார். இதையடுத்து இந்த மசோதா சட்டமாகி உள்ளது.
  • ஆசிய அமெரிக்கர்களுக்கு எதிரான தாக்குதல் சம்பவங்கள் அதிகரித்து வந்ததை அடுத்து அவர்களை பாதுகாக்க இந்த மசோதா கொண்டுவரப்பட்டு சட்டமாகி உள்ளது.
  • வெறுப்புக் குற்றங்களை மறு ஆய்வு செய்தல், அத்தகைய குற்றங்களை இணையவழி புகார் செய்வதற்கும், காவலர்கள் மத்தியில் விழிப்புணர்வை அதிகரிக்கவும் இந்த சட்டம் வழிவகை செய்கிறது.

• பாகிஸ்தானின் கராச்சியில் சீனாவின் உதவியுடன் அமைக்கப்பட்ட 1100 மெகாவாட் மின் உற்பத்தி திறன் கொண்ட கராச்சி-2 அணுமின் நிலையத்தை பாகிஸ்தான் பிரதமர் இம்ரான்கான் திறந்து வைத்தார்.
  • பாகிஸ்தானில் 6 அணுமின் நிலையங்கள் உள்ளன. சீன உதவியுடன் பாகிஸ்தானில் அணுமின் நிலையம் தொடங்கப்படுவது இதுவே முதல் முறை.
  • இரு நாடுகள் இடையே ராஜீய உறவுகள் ஏற்பட்டு 70 ஆண்டுகள் நிறைவானதை குறிக்கும் வகையில் இத்திட்டம் செயல்படுத்தப்பட்டடுள்ளது.
  • இத்திட்டத்தின் மூலம் சுற்றுச்சூழலை பாதிக்காத வகையில் பாகிஸ்தானில் மின்சாரம் தயாரிக்கப்பட உள்ளது.
  • பாகிஸ்தான் நாட்டின் மின் உற்பத்தி திட்டத்தில் இது ஒரு மைல்கல்.
  • பாகிஸ்தான் – சீனா இடையிலான சிறப்பான நல்லுறவு மூலமே இத்திட்டம் சாத்தியமானது.
  • கராச்சி நகரில் இருந்து 18 கிமீ தொலைவில் அரபிக்கடலை ஒட்டி இந்த அணுமின் நிலையம் அமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

• 2020-21 ம் நிதியாண்டின் தனிநபர் வருமானத்தில் வங்கதேசம் இந்தியாவை முந்தியுள்ளது.
  • சுதந்திரம் பெற்ற பிறகு வறுமையில் தவித்து வந்த வங்கதேசம் தற்போது சீராக வளர்ந்து வருகிறது.
  • 2020-21 ம் நிதியாண்டில் வங்கதேச தனிநபர் வருமானம் 2227 அமெரிக்க டாலராக அதிகரித்துள்ளது.
  • வங்கதேச தனிநபர் வருமானம் இந்தியாவுடன் ஒப்பிடும் போது 280 டாலர்கள் அதிகம்.
  • இந்தியாவில் 2020-21 ல் தனிநபர் வருமானம் 1947 டாலர்கள் ஆகும்.

• Joe Biden signs bill to address hate crimes against Asian Americans
  • US President Joe Biden has signed a legislation to address the sudden increase in hate crime against Asian-Americans in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic and expressed hope that such crimes would now be more accurately counted and reported.
  • The measure had passed both chambers of Congress by large majority votes. The new law directs the US Department of Justice to focus on the prosecution of violent crimes against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders.

• Pakistan Inaugurates Chinese-assisted 1100MW Nuclear Power plant in Karachi
  • Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday inaugurated the country’s first Chinese-assisted 1,100MW nuclear power plant in Karachi that coincided with the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the all-weather allies.
  • Khan virtually performed the inauguration of the plant, formally known as Karachi Nuclear Power Plant Unit-2 (Kanupp-2 or K-2), which was built with the support of China.
  • The construction of K-2 plant started in November 2013 and its fuel loading started on December 1, 2020.
  • K-3, he said, will hopefully become functional in next 8-10 months. Both K-2 and K-3 power plants have a life of about 60 years, which is extendable to 80 years.

• Bangladesh overtakes India in per Capita Income
  • Bangladesh Planning Minister MA Mannan informed the country’s cabinet last week that the per capita income of Bangladesh has now increased from $2,064 to $2,227.Bangladesh’s per capita income is now $280 higher than India’s per capita income which is $1,947.
  • Bangladesh per capita income stands at $2,227 in the fiscal year 2020-21 against the previous fiscal year’s per capita income was $2,064.
