• கரோனா பரவலை தடுக்க அவசர கால அடிப்படையில் பைஸர் தடுப்பு மருந்தை பயன்படுத்த இலங்கை அரசு அனுமதி அளித்துள்ளது.

• Sri Lanka approves Pfizer COVID Vaccine for emergency use
  • Sri Lanka on Saturday approved Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine for emergency use in Sri Lanka, as the island nation battles a third wave of the virus, while suffering a restricted supply of vaccines from neighboring India.
  • Sri Lanka is seeking to secure other vaccines as the Serum Institute of India, the world’s largest vaccine manufacturer, has suspended the delivery of AstraZeneca’s (AZN.L) Covishield vaccine due to spiraling coronavirus infections in India.
  • Sri Lanka is the first country in South Asia to approve the Pfizer vaccine. It has also approved Russia’s Sputnik and China’s Sinopharm vaccines for emergency use.

• World War II Victory Celebration 
  • Russia celebrated its victory in World War II by flying a thousand drones. In the city of Arshev, drones circling the sky in various shapes were a feast for the eyes. The exhibition ended in the form of a giant dove emphasizing peace.

• Hockey player Ravindra Pal Singh passes away
  • Former India hockey player and a member of the 1980 Moscow Olympics-winning side, Ravider Pal Singh died at the age of 65 after battling Covid-19 on Saturday. Singh, who also played at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics and did not get married, is survived by a niece, Pragya Yadav.
