• இந்திய கடற்படையில் 41 ஆண்டுகள் பணியாற்றிய ஐஎன்எஸ் ராஜ்புத் என்ற போர்க்கப்பல் கடற்கரையிலிருந்து மே 20ல் விடுவிக்கப்படுகிறது.
  • ரஷியாவில் தயாரிக்கப்பட்ட கஷின் ரகத்தை சேர்ந்த இந்த போர்க்கப்பல் இந்திய கடற்படையில் 1980 மே 4ம் தேதி சேர்க்கப்பட்டது.
  • இதை அப்போதைய ரஷியாவுக்கான இந்திய தூதர் ஐ.கே. குஜ்ரால் கடற்படையில் இணைந்து வைத்தார்.
  • கடற்படையின் மேற்கு மற்றும் கிழக்கு மண்டலத்தில் இந்த போர்க்கப்பல் திறம்பட பணியாற்றியுள்ளது. இந்திய அமைதிப்படை இலங்கை கடல்பகுதியில் ரோந்து பணிகளில் இந்த கப்பல் ஈடுபட்டுள்ளது.
  • 41 ஆண்டுகளில் 31 தலைமை அதிகாரியில் கீழ் இந்த கப்பல் செயல்பட்டுள்ளது. இதற்கான விழா விசாகப்பட்டினம் கடற்படை தளத்தில் நடைபெறுகிறது.

• Foreign Minister S Jaishankar To Begin 5-Day US Visit From Monday
  • The Ministry of External Affairs said S Jaishankar will hold discussions with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken besides meeting senior officials of the Biden administration during his visit from May 24 to 28.
  • A focus on procurement of COVID-19 vaccines from American companies as well as explore the possibility of their joint production.

• Six Indian places added to tentative list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites
  • The sites on the tentative list are: Satpura Tiger Reserve, Iconic riverfront of the historic city of Varanasi, Megalithic site of Hire Benkal, Maratha Military Architecture in Maharashtra, Bhedaghat-Lametaghat in Narmada Valley- Jabalpur, and temples of Kanchipuram.
  • Six Indian sites, including the temples of Kanchipuram in Tamil Nadu, the Ganga ghats in Varanasi, and the Satpura Tiger Reserve in Madhya Pradesh, have been added to the tentative list of UNESCO’s world heritage sites, the Ministry of Culture, recently announced.

• Navy’s first destroyer INS Rajput Decommissioned
  • INS Rajput, the first destroyer of the Indian Navy, was decommissioned at Naval Dockyard here on Friday after serving the country for 41 years.the decommissioning pennant were lowered in the presence of Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief Eastern Naval Command Vice
