இந்திய நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• இரயில்வேயின் தங்க நாற்கர திட்டத்தின் ஒரு அங்கமாக மேற்கு வங்காள மாநிலத்தில் உள்ள கரக்பூர், ஆந்திர மாநிலத்தின் விஜயவாடா இடையிலான, 1114 கி.மீ நீள பாதையில் கிழக்கு கடற்கரை சரக்கு பாதை திட்டம் வரும் 2019ம் ஆண்டிற்குள் நிறைவேற்றப்படவுள்ளது.

 

 

• அனைத்து மக்களையும் வங்கி சேவை சென்றடையும் வகையில், நாடு முழுவதும் அமைக்;கப்பட்ட இந்தியா போஸ்ட் பேமெண்ட் வங்கி ஆகஸ்ட் 21 முதல் தனது செயல்பாட்டை தொடங்க அரசு திட்டமிட்டுள்ளது.
  • இதன் துவக்க விழா டெல்லியில் உள்ள தல்கதோரா மைதானத்தில் இந்திய பிரதமர் தலைமையில் நடைபெற உள்ளது.

 

 

• நீர்மூழ்கி கப்பலில் இருந்து அணு ஆயுதத்தை சுமந்து சென்று தாக்கும், முழுவதும் இந்தியாவிலேயே தயாரிக்கப்பட்ட முதல் அதிநவீன ஏவுகணையை இந்தியா, ஹரிஹந்த் – என்ற நீர்மூழ்கி கப்பலில் இருந்து வெற்றிகரமாக பரிசோதிக்கப்பட்டது.
  • இதே போல் பீரங்கி வாகன எதிர்ப்பு ஏவுகணையான ஹலினா, பொக்ரான் இராணுவ தளத்திலிருந்து வெற்றிகரமாக பரிசோதிக்கப்பட்டது.

 

 

•  இயற்கை பேரிடர் போன்ற ஆபத்தான காலங்களில் மீட்பு பணிக்காக பயன்படும் வகையில், இந்தியாவில் முதன் முறையாக தெலுங்கானா மாநிலத்தில் பேரிடர் மீட்பு வாகனம் ஆகஸ்ட் 18ம் தேதி முதல் அறிமுகப்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது.

 

 

• ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் சபையின் உணவு மற்றும் வேளாண்மை அமைப்புக்கு (FAO), 2019ம் ஆண்டை சர்வதேச கம்பு (திணை – சிறுதானிய) ஆண்டாக (International year of millets) அறிவிக்குமாறு இந்தியா கோரிக்கைவிடுத்துள்ளது.
  • இந்தியாவில், தேசிய சிறுதானிய ஆண்டாக – 2018-ஐ அறிவித்தது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.
• குறிப்பு
  •  FAO – Food and Agriculture organization, 1946ம் ஆண்டு அக்டோபர் 16ம் நாள் கனடாவில் துவக்கப்பட்டது.
  • இதன் தலைமையகம் இத்தாலியில் உள்ள ரோம் நகரில் அமைந்துள்ளது.

 

 

உலக நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• ஐ.நாவின் ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் சபையின் 7வது பொதுச் செயலாளராக பதவி வகித்த கோஃபி அன்னன் மறைந்தார்.
  ழ இவர் 1997 முதல் 2006 வரை ஐ.நா சபையின் பொதுச் செயலாளராக பதவி வகித்தார்.
• குறிப்பு
  • ஆப்பிரிக்கா நாடுகளில் எச்.ஐ.வி குறித்த விழிப்புணர்வுகளை ஏற்படுத்தியதற்காகவும், அவருடைய மனிதாபிமான சேவைகளைப் பாராட்டும் வகையில் 2001ம் ஆண்டு அமைதிக்கான நோபல் பரிசு கோஃபி அன்னனுக்கு வழங்கப்பட்டது. 
  • ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் சபையின் தலைவராக தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்ட முதல் கருப்பினத் தலைவர் இவரே ஆவார்.

 

 

• மருந்து மற்றும் பயோமெடிக்கல் ஆராய்ச்சியில் ஈடுபட்ட மூன்று அமெரிக்க விஞ்ஞானிகளுக்கு 2018ம் ஆண்டிற்கான அல்பானி மருந்து மைய பரிசு (Albani Medical Centre Prize) வழங்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

விளையாட்டு நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• இந்தோனேசியாவின் ஜகர்த்தா நகரில் நடைபெறும் ஆசிய விளையாட்டு போட்டிகளில், 65 கிலோ மல்யுத்த பிரிவில் இந்தியாவின் பஜ்ரங் புனியா வெற்றி பெற்று, இந்தியாவிற்கான முதல் தங்கப்பதக்கத்தை வென்றுள்ளார்.
• குறிப்பு
  • இந்தியாவிற்கான முதல் வெள்ளிப்பதக்கத்தை, ஆடவர் 10m Air rifle துப்பாக்கி சுடுதல் பிரிவில் தீபக்குமார் வென்றுள்ளார்.

 

நியமனங்கள்

 

• இந்திய விண்வெளி ஆய்வு நிறுவனமான ISRO, விண்வெளிக்கு மனிதனை அனுப்பும் திட்டமான ககன்யான் திட்டத்திற்கான தலைவராக வி.ஆர். லலிதாம்பிகா தேர்வு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளார். ககன்யா திட்டம் 2022ம்  ஆண்டிற்குள் செலுத்தப்படவுள்ளது.

NATIONAL NEWS

• India successfully flight tested the indigenously developed helicopter launched Anti-Tank Guided Missile ‘HELINA’ from Pokhran in Rajasthan. The weapon system tested for its full range was released smoothly from the launch platform. The missile hit the target with high precision.
  • The indigenously designed and developed guided bombs Smart Anti Airfield Weapon (SAAW) was also successfully flight tested from IAF aircraft at Chandan range in Jaisalmer.

 

• NABARD All India Financial Inclusion Survey (NAFIS), conducted by National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), was released by Rajiv Kumar, Vice Chairman, NITI Aayog in New Delhi. The report revealed that farm households register higher income than the families solely dependent on non-farm livelihood activities in rural areas.
  • The survey, with reference year of 2015-16, which covered 40,327 rural households, highlighted that the average annual income of an agricultural household is Rs 1,07,172 compared to Rs 87,228 for families engaged only in non-agricultural activities.

 

• To protect the interest of subscribers, Pension fund regulator, Pension Fund and Regulatory Development Authority (PFRDA), set a standing committee to suggest steps to deal with cyber security challenges.
  • The focus area of the committee is on ‘Information Systems and Technology and Cyber Security’.

 

SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY

• A platinum-gold alloy has been engineered by US scientists from Sandia National Laboratories, that may be the most wear-resistant metal in the
  • It is the first alloy in the same class as diamond and sapphire, and has been 100 times more durability than high-strength steel.

 

ECONOMY

• According to a report by Nomura, India’s current account deficit (CAD) is expected to widen to 2.8 per cent of the GDP in FY19 from 1.9 per cent of GDP, in 2017-18 fiscal. Reasons for this are: rising oil prices, depreciating rupee and outflow of portfolio investments.
  • Moody’s have predicted the CAD to be 2.5% of the GDP of FY19.
  • Current account deficit (CAD): It is the difference between the inflow and outflow of foreign exchange.

 

• The Receivables Exchange of India (RXIL) (Headquarters – Mumbai, Maharashtra) said that the Hindustan Aeronautics (HAL) has become the first public sector enterprise to make a transaction on the “TReDS platform”.
  • According to the NSE-SIDBI joint venture, TReDS is an online electronic institutional mechanism for facilitating the financing of trade receivables of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) through multiple financiers.

 

AWARDS

• The United States government awarded the Legion of Merit (Degree of Commander) to General Dalbir Singh Suhag (Retired) chief of the Army staff, Indian Army. This was earlier announced by the US Government in March 2016.

 

IMPORTANT DAYS

• August 19th is annually observed as World Humanitarian Day 2018. It is observed to pay tribute to aid workers who risk their lives for humanitarian services.
  • The day was designated by the UN General Assembly to commemorate the 19 August 2003 bombing of the United Nations headquarters in Baghdad, Iraq.
  • The theme for the 2018 World Humanitarian Day is : #NotATarget.
