UPSC 2024 Eligibility Criteria
- A citizen of India, or
- A subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or
- A Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
- A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Educational Qualification
The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university. Candidates in their final year of graduation can also apply provisionally, but they must submit proof of passing the degree examination before the specified date.

- OBC Category: Nine attempts
- SC/ST Category: No restriction on the number of attempts until the upper age limit is reached. (excludes the relaxation categories)

- Economic and Social Development – Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector Initiatives, etc.
- General issues on Environmental Ecology, Biodiversity, and Climate Change – that do not require subject specialisation.

Paper-II: Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT)
