• தமிழ்நாட்டின் 13 கடலோர மாவட்டங்களையும் தீவுகளையும் உள்ளடக்கிய கடல்சார் சூழலைப் பாதுகாப்பதற்காக, தமிழ்நாடு அரசு, கடலோர மண்டல மேலாண்மை திட்டத்தின் (Coastal zone Management) இறுதி வரைவை மத்திய சுற்றுச்சூழல் வனங்கள் மற்றும் காலநிலை மாற்ற அமைச்சகத்திடம் சமர்ப்பித்துள்ளது.
  • இதில், தமிழக கடற்கரையை 6 பிரிவுகளாக பிரித்துள்ளது.
  • அவை CRZ IA, CRZ IB, CRZ II, CRZ III, CRZ IV A kw;Wk; CRZ IV B எனப் பெயரிடப்பட்டுள்ளது.
• குறிப்பு
  • தமிழகத்தில் மன்னார் வளைகுடா கடல்சார் தேசிய பூங்கா, தூத்துக்குடி மற்றும் தனுஷ்கோடிக்கு இடையே அமைந்துள்ளது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

 

 

 இந்திய நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• அலுவல் பணியில் ஹிந்தி மொழியை செயல்படுத்துவது தொடர்பான செயல்பாட்டையும் சிக்கல்களையும் பற்றி விவாதிக்க அலுவல் மொழித்துறையின் முதல் சீராய்வுக் கூட்டம் உள்துறை அமைச்சர் ராஜ் நாத் சிங் தலைமையில் நடைபெற்றது.
• குறிப்பு
  • கந்தஸ்த் – கணினி மென்பொருள் – அனைத்து வகையான அலுவல் கோப்புகளை ஆங்கிலத்தில் இருந்து ஹிந்திக்கும், ஹிந்தியில் இருந்து ஆங்கிலத்திலும் மொழிப்பெயர்ப்பதற்காக அலுவல் மொழித்துறை உருவாக்கியுள்ளது.

 

 

• சுனாமி பேரிடர் ஒத்திகை மற்றும் மீட்பு நடடிவடிக்கை – 2018 (Coastal zone Management) இந்தியா முழுவதும் உள்ள கடலோர பகுதிகளில் செப்டம்பர் 4-5 தேதிகளில் சுனாமி பேரிடர் ஒத்திகை மற்றும் நடவடிக்கை மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்டது.
  •  இந்தியா மற்றும் 23 நாடுகள் இணைந்து இந்த சுனாமி பேரிடர் ஒத்திகை மற்றும் மீட்பு நடவடிக்கையில் ஈடுபட்டன. ஐ.நா அமைப்பின் யுனெஸ்கோ சர்வதேச அரசாங்க கடற்சார் ஆணையம் (IOC – Inter governmental Oceanographic commission) மற்றும் இந்திய பெருங்கடல் சுனாமி எச்சரிக்கை மற்றும் மட்டுப்படுத்தும் அமைப்பு (IOTWMS – Indian Ocean Tsunami weaning Mitigation System) ஒருங்கிணைந்து இந்த நடவடிக்கையை மேற்கொண்டன.

 

 

• இந்தியா மற்றும் அமெரிக்கா நாடுகளுக்கிடையேயான பாதுகாப்புத் துறை சம்பந்தமான டூ ப்ளஸ் டூ பேச்சுவார்த்தை டெல்லியில் நடைபெற்றது.
  • இதில் அமெரிக்க வெளியுறவுத் துறைச் செயலாளர் மைக்பாம்பியோ, அமெரிக்க பாதுகாப்புத் துறை செயலாளர் ஜேம்ஸ் மாட்டிஸ் இந்திய வெளியுறவுத் துறை அமைச்சர் சுஷ்மா சுவராஜ் மற்றும் இந்திய பாதுகாப்புத் துறை அமைச்சர் நிர்மலா சீதாராமன் உள்ளிட்டோர் பங்கேற்றனர்.
  • இந்த டூ ப்ளஸ் டூ பேச்சுவார்த்தையில், இரு நாட்டுத் தொடர்பு மற்றும் பாதுகாப்பு ஆகியவற்றிற்கான கோம்காஸா(COMCASA – Communications Compatibility and Security Agreement) ) ஒப்பந்தம்; கையெழுத்தானது.
• குறிப்பு
  • இவ்வொப்பந்தத்தின் மூலம் இராணுவம் சார்ந்த முக்கிய தொழில்நுட்பங்களை அமெரிக்காவிடம் இருந்து இந்தியா பெற்றுக் கொள்ளவும் அமெரிக்கா மற்றும் இந்திய இராணுவத்துக்கு இடையே தகவல் தொடர்பு வசதிகள் அமைக்கவும் முடிவு செய்துள்ளது
  • அமெரிக்காவிற்கு Major Defence partner என்னும் அந்தஸ்தை 2016ல் கொடுத்தது குறிப்பிடத்தக்து.

 

 

• ஆசிய அளவில் அலுவலக வாடகையில் அதிக பயன்பெற்ற நகரங்களின் பட்டியலில் இந்தியாவின் பெங்களுரு நகரம் முதலிடம் பிடித்துள்ளது. பெங்களுரில் ஏப்ரல் – ஜுன் காலாண்டில் அலுவலக வாடகை 7 சதவீதம் வளர்ச்சியைக் கண்டுள்ளது.
  • பெங்களுருவைத் தொடர்ந்து 5.5 சதவீகித உயர்வுடன் ஜப்பானின் டோக்கியோ நகரம் 2வது இடத்திலும், ஆஸ்திரேலியாவின் மெல்போர்ன் 3வது இடத்திலும் உள்ளது.

 

 

உலக நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• ஜப்பான் நாட்டின் மேற்குப் பகுதியில் ‘ஜெபி’ என்ற புயல் மிகப் பெரிய சேதங்களை ஏற்படுத்தியுள்ளது. இந்த புயல் மிகக் கடுமையான புயலாக வகைப்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது.
  • ஜெபி(Typhoon Jebi) புயலுக்கு தென்கொரியா இந்த பெயரை வைத்துள்ளது. ஜெபி என்றால் கொரிய மொழியில் விழுங்கு என்று பொருள்.

 

 

• விண்வெளித் துறையில் இந்தியா, பிரான்ஸ் நாடுகளுக்கிடையே புரிந்துணர்வு ஒப்பந்தம் கையெழுத்தாகியுள்ளது. மேலும் விண்வெளிக்கு மனிதர்களை அனுப்பும் திட்டத்தில் இணைந்து செயல்படுத்துவதற்கான புரிந்துணர்வு ஒப்பந்தத்தில் கையெழுத்திட்டுள்ளனர்
• குறிப்பு
  • சுகன்யா திட்டத்தின் கீழ், வரும் 2022ம் ஆண்டுக்குள் விண்வெளிக்கு மனிதனை அனுப்பும் திட்டத்தை நிறைவேற்ற மத்திய அரசானது முடிவு செய்துள்ளது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

 

விளையாட்டு நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• தென்கொரியாவின் சாங்வான் நகரில் நடைபெற்று வரும் 52வது சர்வதேச தப்பாக்கிச்சுடுதல் சாம்பியன்ஷிப் போட்டியில், ஆண்கள் 10 மீட்டர் ஏர் பிஸ்டல் பிரிவில் இந்தியாவின் சவுரப் சவுத்ரி தங்கப்பதக்கம் வென்றுள்ளார்.
• குறிப்பு
  • இந்தியாவின் அர்ஜுன் சிங் சீமா இதே பிரிவில் வெண்கலப் பதக்கம் வென்றது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

 

 

விருதுகள்

 

• டிஜிட்டல் பத்திரிக்கை யுகத்தில், அமெரிக்காவின் ஜார்ஜியா மாகாணத்தில் NRI Pulse என்ற பத்திரிக்கையை நடத்திய முதல் இந்திய பெண் என்ற பெருமையை வீணா ராவ் என்ற பெண்மணி பெற்றுள்ளார்.
  • இவர் லிம்கா உலக சாதனைப் புத்தகத்தில் இடம் பெற்றுள்ளார்.

NATIONAL NEWS

• The Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated the 3-day Defence & Homeland Security Expo and Conference – 2018, organised by PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry in association with Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) in New Delhi.

 

• Ministry of Railways & Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS) organised a seminar on “Leveraging IT for Mobility” in New Delhi. Minister of Railways & Coal, Shri Piyush Goyal graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Shri Goyal also launched a new app – “AAPOORTI’ mobile App of ‘Indian Railways e-procurement system’ (IREPS).

 

• India and Bulgaria has signed MoUs, including one on civil nuclear cooperation, as President Ram Nath Kovind held talks with his Bulgarian counterpart Rumen Radev. The four MoUs between India and Bulgaria are investment, tourism, civil nuclear cooperation and the establishment of Hindi Chair at Sofia University.

 

• The US Secretary of State, Michael R Pompeo, and US Defence Secretary, James N Mattis, met their Indian counterparts Swaraj and Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the first ‘2+2’ dialogue in New Delhi.
  • According to the joint statement, the two sides signed the Communications Compatibility and Security Agreement (COMCASA) that will facilitate access to advanced defence systems and enable India to optimally utilise its existing US-origin platforms.

• Minister of State for Tourism (I/C) Shri K.J. Alphons announced the sanction of 80.37 Crores for “Development of Rural Circuit: Malanad Malabar Cruise Tourism Project’ in Kerala under Swadesh Darshan Scheme.

 

• The Supreme Court decriminalised a portion of Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code, a colonial era provision that criminalises private consensual sexual acts between same sex adults. The judgment was delivered by a Bench of Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra and Justices Rohinton Nariman, AM Khanwilkar, DY Chandrachud and Indu Malhotra.

 

INTERNATIONAL NEWS

• Indian navy ships and aircraft have arrived in Sri Lanka to take part in the joint exercise SLINEX-2018 to be held with Sri Lankan navy at Trincomalee. The exercise which was previously held biannually has been converted to an annual event from this year to enhance cooperation in the maritime domain and to further strengthen mutual trust and interoperability between the two navies.

 

ECONOMY

• Maryland-based Lockheed Martin announced that the wings of F-16 Block 70 fighter jets will be produced in India as a part of Make in India initiative. It entered into an agreement with Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) for the production of the wings.

 

• The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) bought 46 tonne of gold in financial year 2017-18. This is the first purchase in almost nine years. Earlier in November 2009, RBI had bought 200 tonne of gold from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

 

APPOINTMENTS

• Justice Arup Kumar Goswami has been appointed the acting chief justice of the Gauhati High Court with effect from 6thSeptember 2018. His appointment has been made following the retirement of Gauhati High Court Chief Justice Ajit Singh.

 

SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY

• India and France announced a working group for Gaganyaan, ISRO’s first manned mission at the sixth edition of Bengaluru Space Expo. India plans to send three humans to space before

 

• Indian Air Force for the first time successfully conducted mid-air refuelling of Tejas MK I fighter jet by Indian Air Force’s Russian built Il-78 tanker. Dry link up means no fuel was transferred between the 2 aircrafts.
  • The tanker was launched from IAF’s base in Agra while LCA Tejas fighter was launched from Gwalior.

 

• Japanese researchers have developed a “space elevator”. Its first trial will be conducted on 11th September 2018, by launching a miniature version on satellites.
  • The test equipment has been developed by researchers at Shizuoka University. It will be launched on an H-2B rocket by Japan’s space agency from Japan’s Tanegashima Space Center.

 

BOOKS & AUTHORS

• A book on experiential learning based on Mahatma Gandhi’s ‘Nai Talim’ (basic education) was released by HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar. It contains basic principles of Gandhi’s ‘Nai Talim’, along with the work and education curriculum for schools, D.Ed, B.Ed and faculty development programmes for teachers.
