இந்திய நிகழ்வுகள்

 

  • ஜம்மு – காஷ்மீர் ஆளுநராக இருந்த சத்யபால் மாலிக்கை கோவா மாநில ஆளுநராக மாற்றம் செய்து, மத்திய அரசு உத்தரவிட்டுள்ளது.
    • அதேபோல் ஜம்மு – காஷ்மீர் துணைநிலை ஆளுநராக கிரிஷ் சந்திரா முர்முவும் லடாக் துணை நிலை ஆளுநராக ஆர்.கே. மாத்தூரும் நியமனம் செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளனர்.

 

 

  • தில்லியில் நாடாளுமன்றம், ராஜபாதை உள்ளிட்டவை அடங்கிய ‘சென்ட்ரல் விஸ்டா’ பகுதியை மறுசீரமைப்பு செய்வது, மத்திய அமைச்சகங்களின் அலுவலகங்களுக்கான ஒருங்கிணைந்த வளாகத்தை அமைப்பது ஆகியவற்றுக்கான கட்டுமான திட்டத்தை தயாரிக்க குஜராத்தைச் சேர்ந்த ‘ஹெச்சிபி’ வடிவமைப்பு நிறுவனம் தேர்வு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது என்று மத்திய வீட்டுவசதி மற்றும் நகர்ப்புற விவகாரங்கள் துறை அமைச்சர் ஹர்தீப் சிங் புரி அக்டோபர் 25 அன்று டெல்லியில் தெரிவித்தார்.
    • இதைத் தயாரிப்பதற்காக ஹெச்சிபி நிறுவனத்துக்கு ரூ.229.75 கோடி வழங்கப்படவுள்ளது. இந்த மறுசீரமைப்புத் திட்டத்துக்கான மொத்த செலவில் 3 சதவீதம் அந்த நிறுவனத்துக்கான கட்டணமாக வழங்கப்படும்.

  • குடியரசு துணைத் தலைவர் வெங்கய்ய நாயுடு, ஈரான் அதிபர் ஹசன் ரௌஹானியை அக்டோபர் 25 சந்தித்துப் பேசினார். 18-ஆவது உச்சிமாநாடு அஜர்பைஜான் நாட்டின் தலைநகரான பாகுவில் அக்டோபர் 25 தொடங்கியது.
    • ‘உலகப் பிரச்சனைகளை எதிர்கொள்ள பாண்டுங் கொள்கைகளின் அடிப்படையில் ஒருங்கிணைந்த செயல்பாடு’ என்ற கருத்தை மையமாகக் கொண்டு இந்த உச்சிமாநாடு நடைபெறுகிறது.

 

 

விளையாட்டு நிகழ்வுகள்

 

  • உலக ஸ்குவாஷ் சாம்பியன்ஷிப் தொடர் எகிப்தின் கெய்ரோ நகரில் நடைபெற்றது. இதில் மகளிர் பிரிவு முதல் சுற்றில் இந்தியாவின் ஜோஷ்னா சின்னப்பா அமெரிக்காவின் ஹேலி மெண்டிசை எதிர்கொண்டார். 9–11, 12–10, 8–11, 11–6, 11–6 என்ற செட் கணக்கில் அமெரிக்காவின் ஹேலி மெண்டிசை வீழ்த்தி அடுத்த சுற்றுக்கு ஜோஷ்னா சின்னப்பா தகுதியானார்.

 

 

விருதுகள்

 

  • விஸ்டன் புத்தகத்தின் ஏழாவது பதிப்பில் 2019 – 2020 ஆண்டிற்கான விருதுகள் அறிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
    • அதில் இந்திய கிரிக்கெட் வீரர் ஜஸ்ப்ரித் பும்ரா மற்றும் வீராங்கனை ஸ்ம்ரிதி மந்தானா ஆகிய இருவருக்கும் இந்த ஆண்டிற்கான சிறந்த இந்திய வீரர்களுக்கான விருது அளிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
    • மேலும் ஆசிய கண்டத்தில் இருந்து பாகிஸ்தானின் ஃபக்கர் சமான் இலங்கையின் திமுத் கருணரத்னே மற்றம் ஆப்கானிஸ்தானின் ரஷீத் கான் ஆகியோரும் இடம் பெற்றுள்ளனர்.

  • Uttar Pradesh government launched its flagship scheme Kanya Sumangla Yojna. The scheme will provide an amount of 15 thousand rupees in a phased manner to every family in which a girl child takes birth.
    • The scheme has been designed in a way that parents have to take care of the girl child’s health and education to get the benefit.

INTERNATIONAL NEWS

  • A Memorandum of Understanding has been drafted by India, Nepal and Bhutan to create a trans-boundary wildlife conservation park. The park will include bio-diversity rich landscapes.
    • The initiative was started by India keeping in view the migratory wildlife species in the region, especially elephants.

APPOINTMENT

  • The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi appointed Sukhbir Singh Sandhu as the Chairman of the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI).
    • Sandhu is a 1988 batch IAS officer from the Uttarakhand Cadre.

 

 


BOOKS

  • Economist and author Bibek Debroy have come out with English translations of two Hindu mythological texts “Markendya Purana” and “The Bhagavad Gita”, publishers Penguin announced.
    • The book is a special bilingual edition of the foundational text on “dharma” and the Hindu philosophy.

 

 

IMPORTANT DAYS

  • Disarmament Week is an annual event that is observed from 24 October to 30 October in various parts of the world. The observance revolves around raising public awareness of the dangers of the arms race and the need for international disarmament.
    • An important focus of this week is trying to convince nations to only keep the weapons they need for an adequate police force.
