• சேலம் மாவட்டம், காடையாம்பட்டி, பண்ணப்பட்டி அரசு மேல்நிலைப்பள்ளியில், நாட்டு நலப்பணி திட்டத்தில் பங்கேற்றுள்ள மாணவர்கள், சுற்றுச்சூழலை பாதுகாக்க, மரங்களை வளர்க்க, வேம்பு, புங்கன் என ஒரு லட்சம் விதை பந்துகளை உருவாக்கினர். டேனிஷ்பேட்டை வனச்சரகர் பரசுராம மூர்த்தி தலைமையில், விதைப்பந்து வீசும் பணியை, நேற்று முன்தினம், மாணவர்கள் துவங்கினர்.

• தமிழ்நாட்டில் 12ஆம் வகுப்பு மாணவர்களுக்கு இலவச மடிக்கணினி வழங்கும் திட்டம் நடைமுறையில் உள்ளது. இந்நிலையில், 2017 மற்றும் 2018 ஆம் ஆண்டுகளில் 12ஆம் வகுப்பு பொதுத்தேர்வில் தோல்வி அடைந்த மாணவர்களுக்கு இலவச மடிக்கணினி கிடையாது என்று தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

• இந்தியா, பாகிஸ்தான் இடையிலான கர்தார்பூர் வழித்தடத்தை பிரதமர் நரேந்திர மோடி சனிக்கிழமை திறந்து வைத்தார். அத்துடன், முன்னாள் பிரதமர் மன்மோகன்சிங், மத்திய அமைச்சர் ஹர்சிம்ரத் கௌர், பஞ்சாப் முதல்வர் அமரீந்தர் சிங் உள்பட சுமார் 500 பேர் கொண்ட முதல் யாத்ரீகர்கள் குழுவை கர்தார்பூருக்கு பிரதமர் மோடி வழியனுப்பிவைத்தார்.

• அமெரிக்காவில் வெளிநாட்டவர் தற்காலிகமாகத் தங்கிப் பணிபுரிவதற்கான ஹெச்1பி நுழைவு இசைவுக்கான விண்ணப்பக் கட்டணம் ரூ.700 வரை உயர்த்தப்பட்டுள்ளது. ஹெச்1பி நுழைவு இசைவு வழங்கும் நடைமுறைகள் அனைத்தையும் இணையவழியில் கையாள அமெரிக்கா முடிவெடுத்துள்ளது.
  • 2021 ஆம் ஆண்டில் புதிய நடைமுறையை செயல்பாட்டுக்குக் கொண்டுவர திட்டமிடப்பட்டுள்ளது.

• தோஹாவில் நடைபெற்று வரும் 14ஆவது ஆசிய சாம்பியன் போட்டியில் சனிக்கிழமை நடைபெற்ற ஆட்டத்தில்8 புள்ளிகளை குவித்து நான்காவது இடத்தைப் பெற்றார். இந்தியாவை சேர்ந்த தேஜஸ்வினி இதன் மூலம் துப்பாக்கி சுடுதலில் 12ஆவது ஒலிம்பிக் தகுதி இடத்தைப் பெற்றார் அவர்.
  • 39 வயதான தேஜஸ்வினி கடந்த 2008, 2012, 2016 ஒலிம்பிக்குக்கு தகுதி பெறவில்லை. இது அவரது முதல் ஒலிம்பிக் போட்டியாகும்.

• Union Minister for Communications and Information Technology Ravi Shankar Prasad announced that the Government will set up one lakh digital villages in the country in the coming years. He said, around 800 such villages are already operational on pilot basis.

• Shanta Gokhale writer, translator and film critic was conferred with the The Tata Literature Live! Lifetime Achievement Award for 2019. Gokhale, born in 1939 in the town of Dahanu in Maharashtra, she recently published her work One Foot on the Ground: A Life Told Through the Body.
