இந்திய நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• மக்களிடையே டிஜிட்டல் முறையில் தேர்தல் கல்வியறிவை மேம்படுத்துவதற்கான முதல் முயற்சியாக, அசாம் மாநிலம் பொதுசோவை மையம் (Common Service Center) “i-help” என்ற திட்டத்தை அறிமுகப்படுத்தியுள்ளது.

 

 

• இந்தியா மற்றும் ஜப்பான் நாடுகளுக்கிடையேயான மூன்றாவது பேரிடர் குறைப்பு மீதான கலந்தாய்வு கூட்டம் புதுடெல்லியில் நடைபெற்றது.
  • இவ்விரு நாடுகளுக்கிடையே பேரிடர் குறைப்பு மீதான ஒப்பந்தம் (DRR – Disaster Risk Reduction) 2017 செப்டம்பரில் கையெழுத்தானது.
  • முதல் பேரிடர் ஆபத்து குறைப்பு கலந்தாய்வு கூட்டம் புதுடெல்லியில் மார்ச் 2018ல் நடைபெற்றது. 2வது பேரிடர் ஆபத்து குறைப்பு கலந்தாய்வு கூட்டம் ஜப்பானில் அக்டோபர் 2018ல் நடைபெற்றது.

 

 

• இந்திய இராணுவம் மற்றும் மியான்மர் இராணுவம் ஆகியவை இணைந்து, கலாதான் பல்முனைய போக்குவரத்து திட்டத்திற்கு அச்சுறுத்தல் கொடுத்து வந்த கிளர்ச்சி குழுக்களின் முகாம்களை மியான்மரில் அழித்துள்ளது.
  • இந்த நடவடிக்கையானது “சன்ரைஸ் நடவடிக்கை” (Operation Sunrise) எனப் பெயரிடப்பட்டுள்ளது.
  • கலாதான் பல்முனைய போக்குவரத்து திட்டமானது வடகிழக்கு இந்தியா மற்றும் மியான்மரை இணைப்பதற்கான இரு நாடுகளின் முக்கியமான திட்டமாகும்.

 

 

உலக நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• நைரோபியில் நடைபெற்ற ஐ.நாவின் சுற்றுச்சூழல் குழுமத்தின் (UN-Environment Agency) கூடுகையில் இந்தியாவானது 2030ம் ஆண்டில் நெகிழிப் பயன்பாட்டை நீக்கவும் நைட்ரஜன் மாசுபாடு குறித்த விழிப்புணர்வை ஏற்படுத்தும் தீர்மானத்தை முன்வைத்துள்ளது.
  • மேலும் நெகிழி பயன்பாட்டால் சுற்றுச்சூழலில் ஏற்படும் விளைவுகள் குறித்து இம்மாநாட்டில் விளக்கப்பட்டது.

 

 

விளையாட்டு நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• 2020ல் ஜப்பானில் நடைபெற உள்ள டோக்கியோ ஒலிம்பிக் போட்டியில் பங்கேற்கும் முதல் இந்திய தடகள வீரராக K.T. இப்ரான் என்பவர் தேர்வு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளார்.
  • இவர் கேரளா மாநிலத்தைச் சேர்ந்தவர்.

 

 

• ஹாங்காங்கில் நடைபெற்ற ஆசிய இளையோர் தடகள சாம்பியன்ஷிப் போட்டியின் மகளிருக்கான நீளம் தாண்டுதல் போட்டியில் தமிழ்நாட்டைச் சேர்ந்த “தபித்தா” தங்கம் வென்றுள்ளார்.
  • இவர் இப்போட்டியில் பெறும் இரண்டாவது தங்கப்பதக்கமாகும்.
  • இதற்கு முன் 100மீட்டர் தடை தாண்டும் போட்டியில் தனது முதல் தங்கப் பதக்கத்தை வென்றுள்ளார்.

 

 

அறிவியல் & தொழில்நுட்பம்

 

• இந்திய கடற்படையானது, “ப்ராஜெக்ட் – 75”-ன் கீழ் தயாரிக்கப்பட்ட ஸ்கார்பியன் வகுப்பின் 2வது நீர்மூழ்கி கப்பலான “INS – கந்தேரியை” வரும் மே மாதத்தில் கடற்படையில் இணைக்க உள்ளது.
  • டீசல் – மின்னாற்றல் மூலம் இயங்கும் இந்த நீர்மூழ்கி கப்பல் ஆனது பிரெஞ்சு ஆற்றல் நிறுவனமான DCNS-ஆல் வடிவமைக்கப்பட்டு மும்பையில் தயாரிக்கப்பட்டது.

 

 

நியமனங்கள்

 

• கோவாவின் புதிய முதலமைச்சராக “பிரமோத் சாவந்த்” என்பவர் நியமிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார்.
  • இவர் கோவா மாநிலத்தின் 13வது முதலமைச்சராக பதவியேற்கிறார்.
  • இவர் ஆளுநரால் இந்திய அரசியலமைப்பு சரத்து 164ன் படி நியமிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார்.
  • கோவா இந்தியாவின் 25வது மாநிலமாக 1987ம் ஆண்டு சேர்ந்தது. இந்தியாவின் ஒரு பகுதியாக 1961ல் இணைந்தது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

National News

 

• Tshering, Chief Postmaster General, Jammu & Kashmir Circle, released a ‘Special Stamp Cover on Ice Stupa’ by the Department of Post, Government of India during a function organised at the Ice Stupa site at Gangles in Leh.
  • Ice Stupa team of Himalayan Institute of Alternatives, Ladakh (HIAL) with support from Leh-Phodo society and Army, has built an Ice Stupa at Gangles with an aim to reduce shortage of water in Leh.

 

• International Workshop on Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (IWDRI), a two-day workshop organised by National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) in collaboration with United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR), and in partnership with the Global Commission on Adaptation, United Nations Development Programme and the World Bank was held at New Delhi.

 

• On 18th March 2019, Government of India and Government of Japan organized the 3rd Indo-Japan Workshop on Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) in New Delhi. Additional Principal Secretary to Prime Minister, Dr. P. K. Mishra inaugurated the workshop.
  • The objective behind this meet was to enhance collaboration between research institutes, cities and the private sector in the field of DRR.

 

• The Union Home Ministry has approved the changing of name of the Old Mangkhi village in Tuensang of Nagaland to Mungankhun
  • The central government has given its ‘no-objection’ to renaming of 22 villages, towns and railway stations across the country since December 2017.

 

• The inaugural Africa-India Field Training Exercise-2019 for India and African nations called AFINDEX-19 started with a grand opening ceremony at Aundh Military Station, Pune.
  • Contingents of the 17 African Nations came together for the opening ceremony along with a contingent of Maratha Light Infantry representing India.

 

International News

 

• External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj held a 2-day joint ministerial meeting for 17th and 18th March 2019, with her Maldivian counterpart Abdullah Shahid, where the latter has assured to remain sensitive towards India’s security and strategic concerns.
  • Both the representatives have discussed steps to continue the upward trajectory in bilateral relationship

 

Sciences & Technology

 

• Indian Institute of Public Health Gandhinagar, Gujarat, (IIPHG) in collaboration with National Mental Health Program, Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Gujarat has developed a mobile application called as ‘Conquer Exam, Be a Warrior’ for students to reduce the exam pressure.
  • This application creates awareness as well as help students to analyze their weak points and overcome from the exam pressure by providing assistance.

 

Appointments

 

• On 19th March 2019, BJP MLA and Former Speaker of Goa legislative assembly Pramod Sawant(45) took oath as 13th Chief Minister of Goa succeeding Manohar Parrikar, who died due to Cancer. Governor Mridula Sinha administered the oath of office of Pramod Sawant.

 

Awards

 

• Indian journalist, author and chief of The Wire, ‘Raghu Karnad’ received the prestigious Windham-Campbell prize of USD 165,000 for his debut book, ‘Farthest Field: An Indian story of Second World War’, published in the year 2015 in non-fiction category.
  • The award was given by Yale University in the United Kingdom to 8 recipients of English language writers from around the world.

 

Sports

 

• The United World Wrestling (UWW) has taken away the hosting rights from India for the junior Asian Championship. It is the first sporting event to be taken away from India after the denial of visas to Pakistan’s shooters last month for the ISSF World Cup prompted the International Olympic Committee to censure the Indian Olympic Association.
