• இந்தியாவின் பெண்களுக்கான அதிகபட்ச குடிமையியல் விருதான “நாரிசக்தி விருதுகள், 2018ல் 44 விருதுகள் வழங்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
  • பேடி பச்சாவோ பேடி பதாவோ திட்டத்தின் கீழ் குழந்தை பிறப்பு சமயத்தில் குழந்தை பாலின விகிதத்தை அதிகரிப்பதில் மேன்மையான வளர்ச்சி அடைந்ததற்காக தமிழக சமூகநலம் மற்றும் சத்துணவுத் துறையானது நாரி சக்தி விருது பெற்றுள்ளது.

 

 

இந்திய நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• ஹச்.ஐ.வி (HIV)-ஆல் பாதிக்கப்பட்ட அனைவருக்கும் இலவச ஆலோசனை மற்றும் ART – Therapy (Anti – Retroviral Therapy) முறையில் சிகிச்சை வழங்குவதற்காக, இந்தியாவில் HIV சிகிச்சை மையமானது மும்பையில் அமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
  • இந்த மையத்தை (Humsagar Trust) ஹம்சகர் அறக்கட்டளை அமைத்துள்ளது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

 

 

• மத்திய பிரதேச மாநில அரசானது, பிற்படுத்தப்பட்ட வகுப்பினருக்கான இட ஒதுக்கீட்டை 14%-லிருந்து 27 சதவீதமாக உயர்த்தியுள்ளது.
  • பிற்படுத்தப்பட்ட வகுப்பினருக்கான அரசியலமைப்பு ஷரத்து – 338B
  • பிற்படுத்தப்பட்ட வகுப்பினருக்கு நல ஆணையத்திற்கு – அரசியலமைப்பு அந்தஸ்து 102வது அரசியலமைப்பு திருத்த சட்டத்தின் மூலம் வழங்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

 

 

உலக நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• ஸ்டாக்லோம் சர்வதேச அமைதி ஆராய்ச்சி நிறுவனம் (SIPRI – Stockholm International Peace Research Institute) சமீபத்தில் வெளியிட்டுள்ள, 2018ம் ஆண்டில் உலகில் ஆயூத இறக்குமதி நாடுகளின் பட்டியலில் இந்தியா 2வது இடம் பிடித்துள்ளது.
  • முதலிடத்தில் சவுதி அரேபியா உள்ளது.

 

 

• பாலஸ்தீன நாட்டின் புதிய பிரதமராக முகமது சட்யா (Mohammad Shtayyeh) என்பவர் நியமிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார்.
  • பாலஸ்தீன நாட்டின் குடியரசுத் தலைவர் மஹமூத் அப்பாஸ் ஆவார்.

 

 

அறிவியல் & தொழில்நுட்பம்

 

• உயர்தர வானொலி மற்றும் தொலைக்காட்சி பரப்புகை சேவைகளை அளிப்பதற்காக, சீனாவானது “சீனாசாட் 6C” என்ற செயற்கைகோளை “லாங் மார்ச் – 3B” என்ற ஏவு வாகனத்தின் மூலம் புவி சுற்றுவட்டப் பாதைக்கு செலுத்தியுள்ளது.
  • இதன் சேவையை சீனா, ஆஸ்திரேலியா, நியூசிலாந்து மற்றும் தென்பசிபிக் தீவுகளை சேர்ந்த நாடுகள் பயன்படுத்த முடியும்.

 

 

• மார்ச் 29 அன்று பெண்கள் மட்டுமே கலந்து கொள்ளும் முதலாவது விண்வெளி நடைபயணத்தை நாசா – வானது நடத்தவுள்ளது.
  • இந்த விண்வெளி நடைபயணமானது சர்வதேச விண்வெளி நிலையத்தில் அமெரிக்காவைச் சேர்ந்த “அனி மெக்லைன் மற்றும் கிறிஸ்டினா கோச் ஆகியோரால் மேற்கொள்ளப்படவுள்ளது.
  • விண்வெளியில் நடை பயணம் மேற்கொண்ட முதல் பெண்மணி சோவியத்தைச் சேர்ந்த “ஸ்வெட்லானா சாவிட்ஸ்கயா” ஆவர்.
  • 1984 ஜூலை 25ல் இவர் நடைபயணம் மேற்கொண்டார்.

நியமனங்கள்

 

• சிவகங்கை மாவட்டத்தின் காரைக்குடியில் உள்ள அறிவியல் மற்றும் தொழிலக ஆய்வு மன்றம் – மத்திய வேதியியல் ஆராய்ச்சி நிறுவனத்தின் (CSIR – CECRI/Central Electro Chemical Research Institute) முதலாவது பெண் இயக்குநராக தமிழகத்தைச் சேர்ந்த டாக்டர் என். கலைச்செல்வி நியமிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார்.

National News

 

• The Asian Business Leadership Forum (ABLF), a global leadership platform in partnership with the United Arab Emirates (UAE)’s Federal Government has decided to give further momentum to India-UAE
  • 2019 has been declared as UAE’s Year of Tolerance by the UAE Government to underline the commitment to make compassion, inclusion and acceptance a part of everyday life.

 

• In a meeting between Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and his Saudi counterpart and the chairman of Saudi Aramco, Khalid A Al-Falih, in New Delhi, it was decided that India and Saudi Arabia will revive and expedite the implementation of USD 44 billion West Coast refinery project in Maharashtra, in which Saudi Aramco will be holding a considerable stake.

 

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi and along with the Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, unveiled e-plaques for development projects in Bangladesh, through video conferencing.
  • The e-plaques are for the following projects: Supply of buses and trucks, Inauguration of 36 community clinics, 11 water treatment plants and Extension of National Knowledge Network to Bangladesh

 

• The 34th edition of Aahar – the International Food and Hospitality Fair commenced in New Delhi. The five-day fair, organised by India Trade Promotion Organisation, ITPO, features wide range of food products, machinery, food and beverages equipment, hospitality and decor solutions, confectionery items from over 560 participants from India and foreign countries.
  • The foreign participants in the fair are from countries including China, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Indonesia, Japan, Russia, Spain, USA and UK among others.

 

International News

 

• On 11th March 2019, Vice President of India, M Venkaiah Naidu is on a 2 Nation visit to Paraguay and Costa Rica. He was accompanied by a high-level delegation including the Minister of State for Tourism K J Alphons, the Members of Parliament and Senior Officials.
  • Venkaiah Naidu attended India-Paraguay Business Forum

 

Science & Technology

 

• Defence Research and Defence Organisation (DRDO) successfully test fired the Guided Pinaka weapons system from Pokhran ranges in Rajasthan.
  • The two rockets, which were tested using the guided Pinaka system, succeeded in hitting the 90-km mark signalling a boost in the efficiency, as the rockets had touched the 70-km mark in their last trials, held in May, 2018.

 

Economy

 

• India lost its position as the world’s largest importer of weapons, which it held for over a decade, with Saudi Arabia topping the global share of arms imports between 2014 and 2018, as per the data published by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (Sipri).

 

Sports

 

• The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) had banned Russia in November 2015 because of evidence of state-sponsored doping and have decided to maintain it until samples and data from Moscow’s former anti-doping laboratory are made available.
  • It is the 10th time the IAAF has turned down Russia’s appeal for reinstatement, having requested the same assurances when it upheld the ban in December 2018.

 

Awards

 

• Former Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Raghuram Rajan, for his contribution towards economic development, was awarded the ‘Yashwantrao Chavan National Award 2018’ on March 12, 2019, which was the 106th birth anniversary of late Yashwantrao Chavan, the first chief minister of Maharashtra.
  • The award is given annually to individuals or institutions for their outstanding contribution towards national integration.

 

Appointments

 

• Aditya Kumar Misra, a veterinary scientist specializing in economically significant diseases of goat, has been appointed as the new chairman of the Agricultural Scientific Recruitment Board (ASRB).
  • The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved the his appointment and he will hold the new post till 5th January, 2022 from the date he takes the charge.
