இந்திய நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• பண்டிட் தீன்தயாள் உபாத்யாயா தொல்லியில் நிறுவனம் (pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya institute of Archaeology) உத்திரபிரதேச மாநிலத்தின் கிரேட்டர் நொய்டா நகரில் இந்திய பிரதமரால் திறந்து வைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
  • இது சுமார் 289 கோடி செலவில் 25 ஏக்கர் பரப்பளவில் அமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

 

 

• உத்திரகாண்ட் முதல்வர் திரிவேந்திர சிங் ராவத் “முக்கிய மந்திரி ஆஞ்சல் அம்ரித் யோஜானா” என்ற திட்டத்தை உத்திரகாண்ட் தலைநகர் டேராடூனில் தொடங்கியுள்ளார்.
  • இத்திட்டத்தின் கீழ் அங்கன் வாடியில் உள்ள 2.5 லட்சம் குழந்தைகளுக்கு வாரம் இருமுறை 100.மி.லி பால் இலவசமாக வழங்கப்படுகிறது.

 

 

• இளைஞர்களிடையே தொழில் முனைவை ஊக்குவிப்பதற்காக யுவ ஸ்ரீ அர்பன் என்ற ஒரு புதிய திட்டத்தை மேற்குவங்க முதல்வர் தொடங்கியுள்ளார்.
  • இத்திட்டத்தின் கீழ் தனது சொந்த வணிக முன்னெடுப்புகளை அமைப்பதற்காக மாநில சிறு, குறு மற்றும் நடுத்தர நிறுவனத் துறையிடமிருந்து ஏறக்குறைய 5000 இளைஞர்கள் நிதியுதவி வழங்கப்படுகிறது.
  • ஒரு இலட்சம் இளைஞர்களுக்கு ஒவ்வொரு மாதமும் வேலையில்லாப் படித் தொகை ரூ.1500 வழங்கும் யுவ ஸ்ரீ திட்டம் ஐ மேற்கு வங்க மாநில தொழில் துறையால் தொடங்கப்பட்டது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

 

 

• கைவினைக் கலைஞர்களுக்கு நிதியுதவி அளிப்பதற்காக “முக்கிய மந்திரி காரிகர் சஹயாதர்” என்ற திட்டத்தை ஒடிசா மாநில அரசானது தொடங்கியுள்ளது.
  • இத்திட்டத்தின் கீழ் 10 ஆண்டு அனுபவம் உள்ள கைவினைக் கலைஞர்கள் மற்றும் ஆண்டு வருமானம் 1 லட்சத்திற்கு கீழ் உள்ளோர்க்கு மாதம் 800 ரூபாய் வழங்கப்படுகிறது.

• பின்லாந்தில் நடைபெற்ற ஜி.பி சர்வதேச குத்துச் சண்டை போட்டியில் (GEE BEE    International Boxing) இந்தியாவானது 1 தங்கம், 4 வெள்ளி பதக்கங்களை வென்றுள்ளது.
  • இப்போட்டியில் ஆடவர் 56 கிலோ எடைப்பிரிவில் கவிந்தர் சிங் பிஷ்ட் (Kavinder   Singh Bisht) தங்கம் வென்றுள்ளார்.

 

 

அறிவியல் & தொழில்நுட்பம்

 

• சொத்துக்களை இணையத்தின் வழியாக எளிமையாக மாற்றுவதற்கான மொபைல் செயலி “e- Dharti”-ஐ மத்திய வீட்டுவசதி மற்றும் நகர்புற அமைச்சகம் அறிமுகப்படுத்தியுள்ளது.
  • இந்த தளத்தின் மூலம் சொத்தின் குத்தகைகாரர் வரைபடத்தின் மூலம் அதன் இருப்பிடத்தைக் கண்டறிவதுடன் சொத்தின் அடிப்படை விவரங்களையும் காண முடியும்.

 

 

நியமனங்கள்

 

• இந்திய வம்சாவளியைச் சேர்ந்த அமெரிக்க தொலைக்காட்சி நிபுணரான பத்மா லட்சுமி UNDP-(United Nations Development Programme)-இன் நல்லெண்ண தூதராக ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் வளர்ச்சி திட்டத்தினால் நியமிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார்.

 

 

• இந்திய நிதித்துறைச் செயலாளராக சுபாஷ் சந்திரா கர்க் (Subash Chandra Garg) நியமிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார்.

• தேசிய நோய்த்தடுப்பு நாள் – மார்ச் 10 (National Immunisation Day)
  • மக்களிடையே நோய்த்தடுப்பு குறித்த விழிப்புணர்வை ஏற்படுத்துவதற்காக ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் மார்ச் 10 அன்று தேசிய நோய் தடுப்பு நாள் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது.
  • இந்த தினத்தில் குடியரசுத்தலைவர் “Pulse Polio 2019” என்ற திட்டத்தை அறிமுகம் செய்துள்ளார்.

National News

 

• India’s data consumption is expected to grow at a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of about 72.6 per cent to 10,96,58,793 million MB by 2022, according to a study. “With lower-than-ever data tariffs and increasing number of smartphone penetration in the country, which is around 40 per cent as of 2017, it is safe to assume that the Video on Demand (VoD) market will be a significant beneficiary of these developments. Internet consumption is clearly on the rise in India,” according to the Assocham-PwC study.

 

• On 9th March 2019, The Centre formed National Mission on Transformative Mobility and Battery Storage to finalise the framework for a Phased Manufacturing Program (PMP). The main aim of the framework is localising the production of electric vehicles (EV) and its components within the country and boost the adoption of clean energy vehicles.

 

• Minister of State (I/C) for Housing and Urban Affairs, Hardeep S Puri, inaugurated the state-of-the-art India Urban Observatory and Video Wall at New Delhi. The India Urban Observatory will plug into the myriad sources of data from cities, both from real-time and archival sources.

 

• Maldives and India exchanged diplomatic notes for implementing the visa facilitation agreement, which was signed during President Ibu Solih’s visit in December 2018 and will come into effect from 11th March 2019.
  • The new agreement provides a very liberal visa regime for Maldivian nationals to visit India for tourism, business, education and medical purposes and also makes it easier for Indians to travel to Maldives for business purposes.

 

International News

 

• A 116-year-old Japanese woman has been honoured as the world’s oldest living person by Guinness World Records. The global authority on records officially recognised Kane Tanaka in a ceremony at the nursing home where she lives in Fukuoka, in southwest Japan. She was born in January 1903.
  • The previous oldest living person was another Japanese woman, Chiyo Miyako, who passed away last July, aged 117.

 

Economy

 

• In a first-of-its kind move that will ensure faster monetary transmission, the nation’s largest lender State Bank of India announced linking of its savings deposits rates and short-term loans to the RBI’s repo rate. The new rates linked the external benchmark rate of the repo rate, will be effective May 1.

 

Science & Technology

 

• An app to detect fake currency has been developed by Researchers at IIT Kharagpur. Upload the image of the currency note and the app would then perform verification of its authenticity with the help of 25 features that have been extracted from both the sides of the note .If a fake note is detected, a notification will be sent to the user.

 

Appointments

 

• Citigroup has named Ashu Khullar as the new India head after its current chief executive officer Pramit Jhaveri steps down. Khullar is currently the head of capital markets origination for the Asia-pacific region. Having joined Citi in 1988, he has worked across both developed and emerging markets in Europe, Middle East Africa and India.
  • Citi India’s current CEO Jhaveri will take charge as vice-chairman of banking, capital markets and advisory, Asia Pacific, from April 1.

 

Sports News

 

• Kavinder Singh Bisht struck gold while Shiva Thapa and three others claimed silver medals to end a fine Indian campaign at the 38th GeeBee Boxing Tournament in Helsinki, Finland. Signing off with silver medals were three-time Asian medallist Shiva Thapa, rookie Govind Sahani, Commonwealth Games bronze-medallist Mohammed Hussamuddin and Dinesh Dagar.
  • In a rare all-Indian final, a gritty Bisht was up against Commonwealth Games bronze-medallist Hussamuddin in the 56kg summit clash.

 

Awards

 

• Priyanka Dubey, a bilingual correspondent with the BBC at its Delhi bureau, has been named for the Chameli Devi Jain Award for an Outstanding Woman Journalist for the year 2018.
