• சென்னையில் உள்ள ராஜீவ் காந்தி அரசு பொது மருத்துவமனையானது மூன்றாம் பாலினத்தவருக்கான சுகாதாரப் பாதுகாப்புத் தேவைகளுக்கென இயங்கும் ஒரு முழு நேர சிறப்புப் பிரிவைத் தொடங்கியுள்ளது.
  • நாட்டில் மூன்றாம் பாலினத்தவருக்காக தனிப் பிரிவை ஒரு மருத்துவமனை கொண்டிருப்பது இதுவே முதல் முறையாகும்
  • பத்து வருடங்களுக்கு முன்பு 2009 ஆம் ஆண்டு இதே மருத்துவமனையில் முதன் முறையாக திருநங்கைக்குப் பாலியல் மாற்று அறுவை சிகிச்சை செய்யப்பட்டது

• பிரதமர் நரேந்திர மோடி தேசிய பாதுகாப்பு நிதியத்தின் கீழ் ‘பிரதம மந்திரி ஸ்காலர்ஷிப் திட்டம் பிரதான மாற்றங்களுக்கு ஒப்புதல் அளித்துள்ளார்
  • மாதாந்திர ஸ்காலர்ஷிப் விகிதம் ஆண்களுக்கு ரூ.2000 இல் இருந்து ரூ.2500 ஆகவும் பெண்களுக்கு ரூ.2250-இல் இருந்து ரூ.3000 மாக அதிகரித்துள்ளது

• யூதப்படுகொலையின் நினைவாக 2020 அக்டோபரில் யூதப்பகைமைக்கு எதிரான ஒரு சர்வதேச மாநாட்டை சுவீடன் நடத்தவுள்ளது. மால்மோவில் நடைபெறவுள்ள இந்த மாநாடு, இரண்டு குறிப்பிடத்தக்க தேதிகளுடன் ஒத்திசைந்து வருகிறது.
  • யூதப் பகைமை (Anti – Semitism) என்பது யூதர்களுக்கு எதிரான பகைமைப் போக்கு பாரபட்சம் அல்லது பாகுபாடு ஆகும்

 

விருதுகள்

 

• முன்னாள் ஜனாதிபதி பிரதிபா பாட்டிலுக்கு வெளிநாட்டினருக்கான மெக்ஸிகோவின் உயர்ந்த குடிமகன் விருது வழங்கப்பட்டது.
  • இந்தியாவின் மெக்ஸிகோ தூதர் மெல்பா பிரியா, “ஆர்டன் மெக்ஸிகானா டெல் அகுய்லா அஸ்டெகா” திருமதி பாட்டிலுக்கு வழங்கினார்.
  • 2007-12 ல் இந்தியாவின் முதல் பெண் ஜனாதிபதியாக பணியாற்றினார் என்பது குறிப்பிடதக்கது

  • இந்நாளானது 1982 ஆம் ஆண்டு ஆகஸ்ட் 19 அன்று ஏற்படுத்தப்பட்டது
  • இது உண்மையில் 1982 ஆம் ஆண்டின் லெபனான் போரினால் பாதிக்கப்பட்டோரின் மீது கவனம் செலுத்தியது. பின்னர் உலகளாவிய அளவில் இத்தினம் உருவாக்கப்பட்டது

• இந்திய ரிசர்வ் வங்கியின் ஆளுநரான சக்தி காந்த தாஸிடம் தந்தன் நீலகனி கமிட்டி இந்தியாவில் டிஜிட்டல் பரிவர்த்தனை முறையை அதிகரிப்பதற்கான ஆலோசனையை வழங்கியுள்ளனர்
  • இந்த கமிட்டி 2019 ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜனவரி மாதம் 5 உறுப்பினர்களை கொண்டு தொடங்கப்பட்டது என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது

NATIONAL NEWS

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi will pay a two-day visit to the Maldives from 8th of June. This will be the first overseas visit of Prime Minister Modi after his re-election.
  • Prime Minister Modi will also visit Sri Lanka on 9th of this month.

 

• Food grains production for the agricultural year 2018-19 has been estimated at over 283 million tonnes. It is higher by over 17 million tonnes than the previous five years average production of food grain.
  • As per the third advance estimates the rice production is estimated at an all-time high of over 115 million tonnes during 2018-19, beating the previous record of over 112 million tonnes achieved in the 2017-18 crop year

 

• The Rajasthan government has increased the financial assistance given to school girls under the ‘Aapki Beti’ scheme.
  • The amount has been increased to 2,100 from Rs 1,100 for the girls studying in class 1 to 8 and for the girls in class 9 to 12, the financial aid has been increased to Rs 2,500 from Rs 1,500.

 

INTERNATIONAL NEWS

• UAE’s Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) has issued the first Golden Residence Permit in Abu Dhabi.
  • It has been provided as a part of the Investors Permanent Residence System aimed to attract investors, entrepreneurs and qualified individuals who meet its criteria.

 

• The presidential elections in Sri Lanka would be held between November 15 and December 7, Election Commission Chairman Mahinda Deshapriya has said, clarifying that according to constitutional provisions, the polls must be held one month before the end of the current President’s term.

 

SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

• NASA’s $8.8-billionJames Webb Space Telescope, the world’s largest and most expensive one, has successfully passed final thermal vacuum test, making its parts cleared for use in space.

 

• The 6.5-meter diameter telescope has 18 gold-coated mirrors and a tennis court-sized sun-shield to gather light and protect its instruments. The telescope set to launch in 2021. It took 20 years to build.

• The International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression is a United Nations observance each 4 June.
  • In 1997 The General Assembly adopted the 51/77 Resolution on the Rights of the Child. It was established on 19 August 1982.
