• இந்தியா மற்றும் மொசாம்பிக் ஹைட்ரோகிராஃபி துறையில் வெள்ளை கப்பல் தகவல்களைப் பகிர்வது மற்றும் ஒத்துழைப்பு பற்றிய இரண்டு புரிந்துணர்வு ஒப்பந்தத்தில் கையெழுத்திட்டன.
  • இந்த ஒப்பந்தம் இந்தோ-மொசாம்பிகன் பாதுகாப்பு ஒத்துழைப்பு மற்றும் பொதுவான இந்தியா மொசாம்பிக் உறவுகளை மேலும் வலுப்படுத்தும் என்று பாதுகாப்பு அமைச்சகம் வெளியிட்டுள்ள அறிக்கையில் தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

 

 

• பிரதமர் நரேந்திர மோடி, ஏறக்குறைய 300 புலிகளைக் கொண்ட உலகின் பாதுகாப்பான வாழ்விடங்களில் இந்தியாவும் ஒன்று என்று தெரிவித்தார். புதுடில்லியில் உலகளாவிய புலி தினத்தை முன்னிட்டு அகில இந்திய புலி மதிப்பீடு 2018 ஐ வெளியிட்ட பிரதமர், புலியைப் பாதுகாப்பதற்கும், சாத்தியமான அனைத்து நடவடிக்கைகளையும் எடுப்பதற்கும் அரசாங்கத்தின் உறுதிப்பாட்டை மீண்டும் உறுதிப்படுத்தினார்.
  • கணக்கெடுப்பின்படி, இந்தியாவில் புலிகளின் எண்ணிக்கை 2, 967 ஆக உயர்ந்துள்ளது.

• டெல் (DELL) நிதியுதவி மற்றும் லண்டனை தளமாகக் கொண்ட உலகளாவிய தகவல் வழங்குநரான ஐ.எச்.எஸ்.மார்கிட் நடத்திய சமீபத்திய “பெண்கள் தொழில் முனைவோர் நகரங்கள் குறியீட்டு 2019” இன் படி, ஆசிய நகரத்தில் சிங்கப்பூர் முதலிடத்திலும் 21 வது இடத்தில், இந்திய நகரங்களான பெங்களுரு (கர்நாடகா) மற்றும் டெல்லி 43 வது இடத்திலும் (ஆசியாவில் 7 வது) மற்றும் 50 வது (ஆசியாவில் 10 வது) உள்ளன.

 

 

• கோரிக்கையின் பேரில், பாகிஸ்தான் கிழக்கு நகரமான சியால்கோட்டில் உள்ள ஷவாலா தேஜா சிங் கோயிலை பிரிவினைக்குப் பிறகு முதல் முறையாக வழிபாட்டிற்காக திறந்தது.
  • ‘சியால்கோட்டின் வரலாறு’ புத்தகத்தின் படி, இந்த கோயில் 1,000 ஆண்டுகள் பழமையானது.

• ஒடிசா ரசகோலாவிற்கு புவிசார் குறியீடு வழங்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. இந்த புவிசார் குறியீடு அந்த மாநிலம் முறையிட்டு 1 ஆண்டிற்கு பிறகு கிடைத்துள்ளது.
• சென்னை புவிசார் குறியீடு பதிவாளர், இனிப்பை ‘ஒடிசா ரசகோலா’ என்று பதிவு செய்துள்ளார்.

NATIONAL NEWS

• India and Mozambique have signed two Memorandum of Understanding on sharing white shipping information and co-operation in the field of Hydrography.
  • The Defence Ministry said in a release that the agreement will further strengthen the ongoing Indo-Mozambican Defence co-operation and India Mozambique relations in general.

 

 

 

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that India is one of the safest habitats in the world with almost 3000 tigers. Releasing the All India Tiger Estimation 2018 on the occasion of Global Tiger Day in New Delhi, the Prime Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to protecting the tiger and taking all possible steps.
  • According to the survey, the count of tigers in India has risen to 2,967.

 

 

INTERNATIONAL NEWS

• According to the latest “Women Entrepreneur Cities Index 2019”,sponsored by Dell and conducted by London-based global information provider, IHS Markit, Singapore tops in Asian city ranked at 21^st position, while Indian cities Bengaluru(Karnataka) and Delhi were ranked 43rd (7^th in Asia) and 50th (10^th in Asia) respectively.

 

 

• On the demand of the local Hindu community, Pakistan opened Shawala Teja Singh Templein eastern city Sialkot for worship for the first time since partition.
  • According to the book ‘History of Sialkot’ by the late Rashid Niaz, the temple is 1,000-year-old.

 

 

APPOINTMENTS

• On July 29, 2019, Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Lalji Tandonwas sworn in as the 28^th Governor of Madhya Pradesh.
  • He was administered oath by the Madhya Pradesh High Court Chief Justice Ravi Shankar Jha at a function in Raj Bhawan, Bhopal in the presence of Chief Minister Kamal Nath, state ministers and bureaucrats.

 

 

AWARDS

• The Geographical Indication (GI) Registry has accorded the GI tag for Odisha Rasagola, a year after the state applied for it. Rasagola has been a bone of contention between Odisha and West Bengal over its origin.
  • The Registrar of Geographical Indication, Chennai has registered the sweet as ‘Odisha Rasagola’.
