• குடியரசு தினத்தின் 71வது கொண்டாட்டத்தில், மகராஷ்டிரா அரசு சிவ் போஜன் திட்டத்தை அறிமுகப்படுத்தியது.
  • இத்திட்டத்தால் ஏழைகளுக்கு ரூ.10க்கு உணவு வழங்கப்படும். அனைவருக்கும் மலிவு, தரமான உணவை வழங்குவதை இத்திட்டம் நோக்கமாகக் கொண்டுள்ளது. இத்திட்டத்திற்கு ரூ.6.4கோடி செலவாகும் என்று மாநில அரசு மதிப்பிட்டுள்ளது, மேலும் இது மூன்று மாதங்களுக்கு இயங்கும் என்று எதிர்பார்க்கப்படுகிறது.

  • மற்ற நாடுகளில் அமெரிக்கா, சீனா மற்றும் ரஷ்யா ஆகியவை அடங்கும்.

    • இந்த பணி செயற்கைக்கோளை அழிக்க வினாடிக்கு 11 கி.மீ வேகத்தில் ஏவுகணையை செலுத்துகிறது.
    • இந்தியா விண்வெளி தொடர்பான சர்வதேச ஒப்பந்தமான 1967 வெளி விண்வெளி ஒப்பந்தத்தில் கையெழுத்திட்டது. ஒப்பந்தத்தின்படி, விண்வெளியில் ஆயுதங்களை பெருமளவில் அழிப்பது மட்டும் தடைசெய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது.

  • இந்த திட்டத்தை சுற்றுலா அமைச்சகம் ஏற்பாடு செய்து வருகிறது.

    • நிகழ்ச்சியின் கருப்பொருள்: மகாத்மா காந்தியின் 150 ஆண்டுகளைக் கொண்டாடுகிறது ரூ ஏக் பாரத் ஸ்ரேஷ்ட பாரத்.
    • இது “தேகோ அப்னா தேஷ்” இன் உணர்வை வளர்ப்பதையும் நோக்கமாகக் கொண்டுள்ளது.
    • பாரத் பர்வ் 2016 முதல் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது. இது இந்தியாவின் வளமான கலாச்சார பன்முகத்தன்மையைக் காட்டுகிறது.

 

 

• கிழக்கு கடற்கரை ரயில்வே இந்தியாவின் ரயில்வே துறையின் முதல் கழிவு-ஆற்றல் ஆலையை நிறுவியது.
  • இது நாட்டில் இதுபோன்ற நான்காவது ஆலை ஆகும். பாலி கிராக் தொழில்நுட்பத்துடன் (Poly Crack Technology) ரூ.1.79 கோடி செலவில் இந்த ஆலை அமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

    • நிறுவப்பட்ட ஆலை குப்பை அகற்றும் பிரிவுகளில் இருந்து சேகரிக்கப்பட்ட கழிவுகளை கார்பன் பவுடர், டீசல் மற்றும் எரிவாயுவாக பாலி கிராக் தொழில்நுட்பத்தைப் பயன்படுத்தி மாற்றுகிறது.
    • அதன் முதல் ஆலை இன்ஃபோசிஸால் 2011 இல் பெங்களுரில் நிறுவப்பட்டது. இரண்டாவது ஆலை டெல்லியில் 2014 இல் நிறுவப்பட்டது, மூன்றாவது ஆலை ஹிண்டல்கோவால் 2019 இல் நிறுவப்பட்டது.

NATIONAL NEWS

• On January 26, 2020, Bharat Parv 2020 begun at Red Fort in New Delhi. The programe is to continue till 1st February, 2020.
  • The objective of the Programme is to increase patriotism among the citizens and also to encourage them visit tourist places in the country. The programme is being organized by Ministry of tourism.
  • Related keys:
    • Bharat Parv is recognized as National Festival. Bharat Parv is being celebrated since 2016.
    • Theme: Celebrating 150 years of Mahatma Gandhi & Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.

 

 

• On January 26, 2020, Government of India announced 141 Padma Awards on the occasion of 71st Republic Day celebrations. Former Union Ministers George Fernandes, Arun Jaitley and Sushma Swaraj are to be awarded with Padma Vibhushan posthumously.
  • The former CM of Goa Manohar Parrikar is to be conferred with the award posthumously.

• At the 71st celebrations of Republic Day, Maharashtra Govenrment launched the Shiv Bhojan Scheme. The scheme will offer meals at Rs 10 to the poor.
  • The scheme aims at providing affordable, quality food to all. The State Government has estimated that the scheme would cost Rs 6.4 crores .

    • The centres of the scheme are to opened at places where the below poverty line citizens live.Also, it is to be opened in areas like district hospitals, markets, railway stations.

INTERNATIONAL NEWS

• The President of Brazil, Mr Jair Bolsonaro visited India to take part in Republic Day celebrations. During his visit, the countries signed several agreements.
  • The countries signed agreements on trade, cyber security, information technology. The countries have set target to increase bilateral trade to 15 billion USD by 2022.

    • Alongside, the fifth session of India-Brazil Trade monitoring mechanism was also held.
    • President Bolsonaro was accompanied by a huge business delegation.

 

 

SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY

• The Defence Research Development Organization (DRDO) displayed the A-SAT weapon system. A-SAT is the Anti-Satellite Weapon System.
  • India is one of the few countries in the world to own the technology. The other countries include US, China and Russia.
  • Related keys:
    • DRDO launched “Mission Shakti”, the first A-SAT mission. The mission demonstrated anti-satellite technology.
    • The mission destroyed a live orbiting satellite at the Low Earth Orbit.

 

AWARDS

• Farmer Chinthala Venkat Reddy won the Padma Shri award from Telangana. He was awarded for attaining an international patent for his technique in soil swapping and soil fertility.
  • He is the first independent farmers in India to win the international patent for the technique.

    • Chinthala Venkat Reddy used the old method of rejuvenating the topsoil to obtain double crop production, instead of using fertilizers.
