• தூத்துக்குடி வ.உ.சிதம்பரனார் துறைமுகம், பெரிய வகை சரக்கு கப்பலை கையாண்டு புதிய சாதனை படைத்துள்ளது. தூத்துக்குடி வ.உ.சி துறைமுகத்துக்கு பனாமா நாட்டு கொடியுடன்52 மீட்டர் நீளமும், 43 மீட்டர் அகலமும், 12.23 மீட்டர் மிதவை ஆழமும் கொண்ட பெரிய வகை சரக்குக் கப்பல் ஞாயிற்றுக்கிழமை (ஜனவரி 19) வந்தடைந்தது.
  • தூத்துக்குடி வ.உ.சி துறைமுகத்துக்கு 93,353 டன் சரக்குகளுடன் பெரிய வகை கப்பல் வந்தது புதிய சாதனை ஆகும்.

    • இதற்குமுன்பு கடந்த ஆண்டு செப்டம்பர் மாதம் 16ஆம் தேதி எம்.வி. என்பிஏ வேர்மீர் என்ற கப்பலின் மூலம் 89,777 டன் நிலக்கரி கையாளப்பட்டது.

• புது தில்லியில் நடைபெறும் குடியரசு தின அணிவகுப்பில், இந்த ஆண்டு மகளிர் சிஆர்பிஎஃப் வீராங்கனைகளின் சாகச நிகழ்ச்சிகளும் முதல் முறையாக இடம்பெற உள்ளது.
  • ஜனவரி 26ம் தேதி நடைபெறவுள்ள குடியரசு தின அணிவகுப்பு நிகழ்ச்சியில் மகளிர் சிஆர்பிஎஃப் படையைச் சேர்ந்த 65 பேர் பங்கேற்று மோட்டார் சைக்கிள்களில் சாகசங்களை நிகழ்த்த உள்ளனர்.

• சீன ஊடகக் குழுமம் ஏற்பாடு செய்துள்ள 2020ஆம் ஆண்டு வசந்த விழாவுக்கான கலை நிகழ்ச்சி ஜனவரி 24ஆம் நாள் நடைபெற உள்ளது. 170 நாடுகள் மற்றும் பிரதேசங்களைச் சேர்ந்த 460 ஊடகங்கள், நடப்பு வசந்த விழாவுக்கான கலை நிகழ்ச்சி பற்றிய செய்திகளை வெளியிடும்.
  • இந்தியா, இத்தாலி, ஆஸ்திரேலியா, ஐக்கிய அரபு அமீரகம், எகிப்து உள்ளிட்ட 20க்கும் மேலான நாடுகளின் திரையரங்கு மற்றும் தொலைக்காட்சி நிலையங்களில், வசந்த விழாவுக்கான கலை நிகழ்ச்சியின் காணொலி ஒளிபரப்பப்படும்.

• On January 20, 2020, the APEDA (Agricultural and Processed Food Products Development Authority) has added 135 laboratories to the existing 51 laboratories. With this initiative, the total number of agricultural product testing laboratories in the country has increased to 186.

SCIENCE AND TECH UPDATES

• India has successfully test-fired a 3,500 kilometre range nuclear capable missile that can be launched from a The test of the K-4 ballistic missile was conducted off the Vizag coast in Andhra Pradesh on January 19.
  • With this test, India has moved one more step towards the induction of this ballistic missile on the INS Arihant class of nuclear submarines. The missile was developed by Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).
