• இந்தியாவிலேயே தயாரிக்கப்படும் முதல் விமானம் தாங்கிக் கப்பலான ‘ஐஎன்எஸ் விக்ராந்த்’, அடுத்த ஆண்டு தொடக்கத்தில் கடற்படையில் முறைப்படி இணைக்கப்படும் என்று கடற்படை வட்டாரங்கள் தெரிவித்துள்ளன. இந்தக் கப்பல் கேரள மாநிலம் கொச்சியில் உள்ள ‘கொச்சி ஷிப்யார்டு’ நிறுவனத்தால் கட்டப்பட்டு வருகிறது.
  • ஐஎன்எஸ் விக்ராந்த் கடற்படையிடம் ஒப்படைக்கப்பட்ட பிறகே அதில் விமானங்களை இயக்கும் சோதனை நடத்தப்படும்.

 

 

• பெங்களுரு வேளாண் அறிவியல் பல்கலைக்கழகத்தில் நடத்தப்பட்ட இந்திய அறிவியல் மாநாட்டின் (Indian Science Congress – ISC) ஒரு பகுதியாக 9வது மகளிர் அறிவியல் மாநாடானது (Women Science Congress – WSC) ஏற்பாடு செய்யப்பட்டது.
  • அறிவியல் சார்ந்த ஆராய்ச்சியில் பாலின வேறுபாடு காணப்படுவதால் பெண்கள் எதிர்கொள்ளும் இடையூறுகளை எதிர்கொள்வதற்கான வாய்ப்புகளை இந்த நிகழ்வு எடுத்துக் காட்டியுள்ளது.

    • இந்திய அறிவியல் மாநாட்டுச் சங்கமானது இந்தியாவின் முதன்மையான அறிவியல் அமைப்பாகும். இதன் தலைமையகம் மேற்கு வங்காளத்தில் உள்ள கொல்கத்தாவில் அமைந்துள்ளது.
    • இந்த மாநாட்டின் முதலாவது கூட்டமானது 1914 ஆம் அண்டு ஜனவரி மாதத்தில் கொல்கத்தாவில் உள்ள ஆசியச் சங்கத்தின் வளாகத்தில் நடைபெற்றது.

 

 

• ஆசிய பசிபிக் பழப்பூச்சி (டிரோசோபிலா) ஆராய்ச்சி மாநாட்டின் ஐந்தாவது பதிப்பானது புனேவில் தொடங்கியது.
  • இது இந்திய அறிவியல் கல்வி மற்றும் ஆராய்ச்சி நிறுவனத்தினால் முதன்முறையாக இந்தியாவில் ஏற்பாடு செய்யப்பட்டது.
  • இந்த மாநாடானது ஆண்டுக்கு இரண்டு முறை நடைபெறும்.

    • பழப்பூச்சி (டிரோசோபிலா) : இது ஒரு சிறிய பழ ஈ ஆகும். இது டிரோசோஃபிலிடே குடும்பத்தைச் சேர்ந்தது ஆகும்.
    • இரு ஆராய்ச்சிகளில் ஒரு மாதிரி உயிரினமாகப் பயன்படுத்தப்படுகின்றது.

• மகாராஷ்டிரா மாநிலமானது தனது நிலப் பதிவுகளை பிரதான் மந்திரி பசல் பீமா யோஜனாவின் (Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana – PMFBY) இணைய தளத்துடன் ஒருங்கிணைத்த நாட்டின் முதலாவது மாநிலமாக உருவெடுத்துள்ளது.
  • நிலப் பதிவுகளை PMFBY உடன் ஒருங்கிணைக்கும் திட்டத்தில் நிலப் பதிவு விவரங்கள் ஆன்லைனில் கிடைப்பதால் நேரத்தை மிச்சப்படுத்தவும் கோப்புகளைப் பிற்சேர்க்கவும் உதவுகின்றது.
  • PMFBY என்பது பிரதமரின் பயிர் காப்பீட்டுத் திட்டமாகும்.
  • இது 2016 ஆம் ஆண்டில் தொடங்கப்பட்டது.

    • இத்திட்டமானது மத்திய வேளாண் மற்றும் விவசாயி நல அமைச்சகத்தினால் நிர்வகிக்கப்படுகின்றது.
    • இந்தத் திட்டத்தின் மூலம் காரீப் பயிர்களுக்கு 2% காப்பீட்டுத் தொகையும் ராபி பயிர்களுக்கு5% காப்பீட்டுத் தொகையும் விவசாயிகளால் செலுத்தப்படுகின்றது.
    • விவசாயிகளால் செலுத்தப்படும் வருடாந்திர வணிக மற்றும் தோட்டக்கலை பயிர்களுக்கான காப்பீட்டுத் தொகையானது 5% ஆக இருக்கும்.

 

 

• மத்திய தொழில் பாதுகாப்பு படையானது (Central Industrial Security Force – CISF) படை வீரர்களின் நலனுக்காக 2020ஆம் ஆண்டை “இடப்பெயர்விற்கான ஆண்டாகக்” கடைபிடிக்கின்றது.
  • இது குடியிருப்புப் பிரிவுகளை நிர்மாணித்தல் மற்றும் வீரர்களின் நலன்புரி நடவடிக்கைகளை செயல்படுத்துதல் ஆகியவற்றில் கவனம் செலுத்த இருக்கின்றது.
  • ஆரம்பத்தில் CISF படைப்பிரிவானது CISF சட்டம், 1968ன் கீழ் நிறுவப்பட்டது.

  • ஈரான் மற்றும் பி5, ஜெர்மனி & ஐரோப்பிய ஒன்றியம் ஆகியவற்றிற்கு இடையே 2015ஆம் ஆண்டில் விரிவான கூட்டு செயல் திட்டம் என அழைக்கப்படும் ஈரான் அணுசக்தி ஒப்பந்தம் ஒன்று கையெழுத்தானது.

• On January 8, 2020, the Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI) announced that it has developed viable scientific method to cultivate Indian Pompano fish in ponds. Pompanos are marine fishes. Cultivating Indian Pompano in ponds will be a good alternative to shrimp.
  • The financial assistance for the scientific invention was provided by the National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB).

• Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani announced that the State is to set up the Vikram Sarabhai Children Innovation Center (VSCIC) in the state. The announcement was made at the Children’s Innovation Festival (CIF) held at Gandhinagar.
  • In the Festival he felicitated top 30 idea teams, out 114 teams, led by school students in the state. Also, a letter of intent was exchanged between Gujarat University and UNICEF on the occasion.

SCIENCE AND TECH UPDATES

• The LIGO (Laser Inferometer Gravitational-wave Observatory) detected gravitational waves due to collision of two neutron stars. This is the second time the gravitational waves are being detected. The mass of the neutron stars detected is expected to be 3.3 times and 3.7 times as that of the sun.
  • The scientists believe that the neutron stars were at a distance of 520 million light years from the earth.

 

 

ECONOMY

• On January 8, 2020, the Competition Commission of India (CCI) released its report on “Market Study on E-Commerce in India: Key Findings and Observation” The market study for the report was initiated in April 2019 by CCI.
  • According to the report, the number of internet users have increased from 445.96million in 2017 to 665.31 million in 2019.

• The Indian economy is estimated to grow at 5 per cent in 2019-20 as against 6.8 per cent in the previous fiscal. According to the first advance estimates of national income released by the National Statistical Office (NSO), the decline has been mainly on account of deceleration in manufacturing sector growth, which is expected to come down to 2 per cent in 2019-20 from 6.2 per cent in the year-ago fiscal.
  • The deceleration was also witnessed in sectors like agriculture, construction and electricity, gas and water supply.
