• தமிழகத்தில் அரசுப் பள்ளிகளின் மேம்பாட்டுக்கு தனியார் நிறுவனங்கள், தனியார்அமைப்புகள் இணையதளம் மூலம் இதுவரை ரூ.127 கோடி நிதியுதவியை வழங்கியுள்ளன என்று பள்ளிக் கல்வித்துறை அமைச்சர் கே.ஏ.செங்கோட்டையன் கூறினார்.

• புந்தேல்கண்ட் விரைவுச்சாலை திட்டத்துக்காக உத்திரப்பிரதேச மாநிலம் சித்திர கூடத்தில் பிரதமர் நரேந்திர மோடி பிப்ரவரி 29 அன்று அடிக்கல் நாட்டுகிறார்.
  • உத்தரப்பிரதேச அரசால் கட்டப்படும் புந்தேல்கண்ட் விரைவுச்சாலை அந்த மாநிலத்தின் சித்திரகூடம், பாண்டா, ஹமீர்பூர், ஜலான் மாவட்டங்களின் ஊடாகச் செல்கிறது. இந்த விரைவுச்சாலை, ஆக்ரா-லக்னௌ விரைவுச்சாலை மற்றும் யமுனை விரைவுச்சாலை ஆகியவற்றின் வழியாக புந்தேல்கண்ட் பகுதியை தலைநகர் தில்லியுடன் இணைக்கிறது.

• இந்திய விண்வெளி அறிவியலின் தந்தை என்றழைக்கப்படும் விஞ்ஞானி விக்ரம் சாராபாய் நூற்றாண்டை முன்னிட்டு இந்திய விண்வெளி ஆய்வுமையத்தின் (இஸ்ரோ) மகேந்திரகிரி மையம் சார்பில் விக்ரம் சாராபாய் நூற்றாண்டு விண்வெளி அறிவியல் கண்காட்சி பிப்ரவரி 27 அன்று தொடங்கியது. மதுரை வேலம்மாள் பொறியியல் மற்றும் தொழில்நுட்ப கல்லூரியில் நடைபெற்ற தொடக்க விழாவுக்கு மகேந்திரகிரி விண்வெளி மையத்தின் இயக்குநர் கே.அழகுவேலு தலைமை வகித்தார்.

    • இந்திய விண்வெளி அறிவியலின் தந்தை விக்ரம் சாராபாயின் நூற்றாண்டு விழாவை 2019 ஆகஸ்ட் 12 முதல் அறிவியல் விழாவாக இஸ்ரோ கொண்டாடி வருகிறது. நாடு முழுவதும் 100 இடங்களில் விண்வெளிக் கண்காட்சி நடத்தப்படுகிறது. இதன் ஓர பகுதியாக தமிழகத்தில் 6 இடங்களில் கண்காட்சி நடத்தப்படுகிறது.

 

 

அறிவியல் மற்றும் தொழில்நுட்பம்

 

• நிலவைப் போலவே பூமியை சுற்றி வரும் இன்னொரு இயற்கைப் பொருளை விஞ்ஞானிகள் கண்டறிந்துள்ளனர். ஒரு கார் அளவே கொண்ட அந்த குறுங்கோளை அமெரிக்காவின் நாசா உதவியுடன் செயல்படும் அந்த நாட்டு காடலினா ஸ்கை சர்வே அமைப்பின் விஞ்ஞானிகள் கண்டறிந்துள்ளனர்.
  • செய்தித் துளிகள்
    • ஏற்கெனவே, ‘2006 ஆர்ஹெச் 120’ என்ற குறுங்கோள் பூமியைச் சுற்றிவரும் நிலையில், தற்போது அதேபோன்ற 2-ஆவது குறுங்கோள் கண்டறியப்பட்டுள்ளது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

• The duty-free revenue per passenger for Indira Gandhi International Airport is highest in India at 10 to 11 dollars per passenger. According to a report by Knight Frank India, retailers do two times the business compared to some of the most successful city malls.

INTERNATIONAL NEWS

• Carbon more than 8,000 years old has been found inside the world’s deepest blue hole ‘the Yongle Blue Hole (YBH)’ which was recently discovered in the South China Sea.
  • Blue holes are marine caverns filled with water and are formed following dissolution of carbonate rocks, usually under the influence of global sea level rise or fall.

BANKING NEWS

• With respect to micro and small enterprises, floating rate loans are already linked with external benchmarks. In a circular issued on Wednesday RBI said it has now been decided that all new floating rate loans to the medium enterprises extended by banks from April 1, 2020, “shall be linked to the external benchmarks”.
  • The external benchmarks will include Reserve bank’s repo rate, Treasury bill (T-bill) yields of 3 months or 6 months /any other benchmark published by the Financial Benchmark India Private Ltd (FBIL).
