தமிழக நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• பதினெட்டாவது தமிழ் இணைய மாநாடு – 2019 (Tamil Internet Conference – 2019) சென்னை அண்ணா பல்கலைக் கழகத்தில் வரும் செப்டம்பர் 20 முதல் 22ம் தேதி வரை மூன்று நாட்கள் நடைபெற உள்ளது. உத்தமம் மற்றும் அண்ணா பல்கலைக்கழகம், இணைந்து நடத்தும் இந்த மாநாடு “தானியங்கி கருவிகளில் தமிழ்மொழிப் பயன்பாடு” என்ற கருத்துருவுடன் நடைபெறவுள்ளது.

 

 

• தமிழகத்தில், சர்வதேச அளவிலான நவீன கால்நடைப் பூங்காவானது, சேலம் மாவட்டம் தலைவாசலில் 900 ஏக்கர் நிலப்பரப்பில் சுமார் 396 கோடி செலவில் அமையவுள்ளது.
  • இப்பூங்காவானது, நாட்டு இன கால்நடைகளின் அபிவிருத்திக்கு உதவும் வகையில் அமைக்கப்படவுள்ளது.

 

 

இந்திய நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• நாட்டின் இரண்டாவது “மின்னணு தொழில் முனைவோர் பூங்காவது” (Electropreneur Park), ஒடிசா மாநிலத்தின் புவனேஸ்வர் நகரில் தொடங்கப்படவுள்ளது.
  • இப்பூங்காவானது இந்திய மென்பொருள் தொழில்நுட்ப பூங்கா (STPI) அமைப்பின் கீழ் செயல்படவுள்ளது.
  • நாட்டின் முதலாவது “மின்னணு தொழில் முனைவோர் பூங்காவை” டெல்லி பல்கலைக்கழகம் அமைத்துள்ளது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

 

 

• சுற்றுச்சூழல் மாசுபடுவதை தடுப்பதற்கான இந்திய – ஜெர்மன் சுற்றுச்சூழல் மாநாட்டின் 3வது பதிப்பு (3rd Indo – German Environment Forum) புதுடெல்லியில் நடைபெற்றது.
  • இம்மாநாட்டின் மையக் கருத்து (Theme):- “Cleaner Air, Greener Economy” என்பதாகும்.

 

 

விளையாட்டு நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• எம்.ஆர்.எஃப் சாலஞ்ச் பட்டத்தை (MRF Challenge title) வென்ற முதல் பெண் ஓட்டுநர் எனும் பெருமையை இங்கிலாந்தின் ஜாமி சாட்விக் (Jamie Chadwick) பெற்றுள்ளார்.
  • சென்னையில் நடைபெற்ற இறுதிப் போட்டியில், இவர் இந்த சாதனையைப் படைத்துள்ளார்.

 

 

விருதுகள்

 

• இஸ்ரேல் நாட்டின் உயரிய விருதான “மில்லியன் டாலர் டான் டேவிட் பரிசு” (Million Dollar Dan David Prize), இந்தியாவைச் சேர்ந்த வரலாற்று அறிஞர் சஞ்சய் சுப்ரமணியத்திற்கு வழங்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
  • அவரது“Intercultural encounters between Asian Europeans and People of North and South America during the early Modern Era” என்ற வரலாற்று ஆராய்ச்சிக்கு இப்பரிசு வழங்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

 

 

நியமனங்கள்

 

• கேரளாவில் “கார்த்தியாயினி” என்ற 96 வயது மாணவி காமன்வெல்த்தின், கற்பதற்கான நல்லெண்ணத் தூதராக (Commonwealth of Learning Goodwill ambassador) நியமிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார்.
  • இவர் கேரளாவின் அக்சரலக்ஷம் எழுத்தறிவு திட்டத்தில் 100-க்கு 98 மதிப்பெண்கள் பெற்று சாதனை படைத்தவர். காமன்வெல்த் கற்பித்தல் அமைப்பானது 53 உறுப்பினர் நாடுகளின் மத்தியில் தொலைதூரக் கல்வியையும் திறந்தவெளிக் கல்வியையும் ஊக்குவிக்கின்றது.

• அறிவியலில் பெண்கள் மற்றும் சிறுமிகளுக்கான சர்வதேச தினம் – பிப்ரவரி 11 (International Day of women and Girls in Science)
  • அறிவியல் மற்றும் ஆராய்ச்சிகளில் பெண்கள் மற்றும் சிறுமிகள் ஈடுபடுவதை ஊக்குவிக்கவும் பாலின சமத்துவத்தை மேம்படுத்தவும் ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் பிப்ரவரி 11ம் தேதியை அறிவியலில் பெண்கள் மற்றும் சிறுமிகளுக்கான சர்வதேச தினமாக கடைபிடிக்கப்படுகிறது.
  • இத்தினத்தின் இந்த ஆண்டின் (2019) கருத்துரு:- “உள்ளடங்கிய பசுமையான வளர்ச்சியுடன் அறிவியலில் பெண்கள் மற்றும் சிறுமிகளின் வளர்ச்சிக்காக முதலீடு செய்தல்” என்பதாகும். (Investment in women and Girls in Science for Inclusive Green Growth).

 

 

ENGLISH CURRENT AFFAIRS

 

NATIONAL NEWS

• Bihar Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar announced an Universal Old Age Pension scheme, named MukhyaMantri Vriddha Pension Yojana (MMVPY), irrespective for all caste, community, religion, except for those who are retired from government organizations. The scheme will come into its enforcement from 1st April, 2019.
  • The scheme facilitates the amount of Rs. 400 monthly pension for all in the state above the age of 60 who are not getting pension from the government.

 

• Andhra Pradesh has made a significant move by merging Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Portal with its own Annadatha Sukhibhava scheme. This move will further allow a fixed amount of Rs. 10,000 per annum to all farmers in the state, irrespective of the size of their land.
  • The benefits will be facilitated in 2 portions of Rs. 5000 before the Kharif and Rabi crop cycle.

 

• A Bilateral meeting between India and Germany 3rd Indo-German Environment Forum held in New Delhi. Additional Secretary of Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change Anil Kumar Jain called for strengthening the renewable alliances and climate between India and Germany as well as cooperation in field of environment.

 

• Indian Army showcased its artillery firepower by using ultra light Howitzers and indigenous Swathi weapon-locating radar at the annual “Exercise Topchi”. The exercise was held at Deolali Camp near Nashik.
  • The aviation and surveillance capabilities were also showcased. The precision displayed while delivering the explosives in the target area stunned all those present.

 

• Harsimrat Kaur Badal – Union Minister of Food Processing Industries commissioned Godavari Mega Aqua Food Park at Tundurru Village in Bhimavaram Mandal, West Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh through video conferencing.
  • It will be the first Mega Aqua Food Park operationalised exclusively for fish and marine products processing in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

 

INTERNATIONAL NEWS

• One of the world’s largest and longest-running international military exercises officially began in Thailand. The 38th annual Cobra Gold exercise, scheduled to run through Feb. 22, is co-sponsored by the Royal Thai and U.S armed forces.
  • They are joined by another 27 nations, including Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea and Singapore. China and India participate in civic-action parts of the exercise.

 

• Ahead of World Hearing Day, the World Health Organization (WHO) and International Trade Union (ITU) have issued a new international standard regarding fabricating and utilization of musical devices, which includes smart phones and audio players, to make them safe for listening.
  • World Hearing Day – 3rd March.

 

APPOINTMENT

• President Ram Nath Kovind has appointed Sushil Chandra, the chairman of the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), to be designated as the new Election Commissioner on 14th February, 2019.
  • The Election Commission now has Sunil Arora as the Chief Election Commissioner who will succeed O.P. Rawat and Ashok Lavasa and Sushil Chandra as fellow commissioners.

 

AWARDS

• People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) awarded actor-director Bradley Cooper ‘Oscat’ award for casting his own dog, rather than one supplied by animal exhibitors, in his movie A Star is Born.
  • A Star is Born has received 8 Oscar nominations including best actor for Bradley Cooper and best actress for Lady Gaga.

 

SPORTS

• Meghalaya’s state animal Clouded Leopard will be the mascot for the National Games 2022 coinciding with the 50th year of the creation of the state.
  • Clouded Leopard is among the wild cats that live throughout the forests of Garo, Khasi, and Jaintia Hills.

 

• Russia’s Daniil Medvedev has achieved his fourth ATP title after a triumph against finalist Hungary’s Morton Fucsovics in the Finale of Sofia Open 2019.
