The Ministry of Coal announced that it is to establish a Sustainable Development Cell in the country. The cell will gain significance as the new private entities will form a significant part of the future.
The aim of the cell is to promote environmentally sustainable coal mining in India.

The shuttle train service between Lahore and Wagah railway station resumed operation on 15 December 2019 after a gap of 22 years.
The train would complete three round trips daily as well as will provide the travelling facility to over 1,000 passengers in three trips.

The seventh edition of Exercise Mitra Shakti-VII 2019 concluded on 14 December 2019 at Aundh Military Station, Pune. The exercise was held between the Indian Army and the Sri Lankan Army.
