• தமிழகத்தில் முதல் முறையாக, ஹலிகேம் எனப்படும் ஆளில்லா விமானம் காட்டு யானைகளை கண்காணிக்கும் பணி கோவை மாவட்டத்தில் தொடங்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
  •  காட்டு யானைக் கூட்டத்தின் நடமாட்டத்தை இந்த ஹலிகேம் டிரோன்கள் மூலம் தமிழக வனத்துறை கண்காணிக்கிறது.

 

 

இந்திய நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• ஒடிஷாவின் சிறுவர்கள் மற்றும் சிறுமிகளின் சமூக மாற்றத்திற்கு வழிவகுக்கும் முன்மாதிரியான படைப்புகளை அங்கீகரிப்பதற்காக ‘மு ஹீரோ மு ஒடிஷா’(I am hero, I am Odisha) என்ற பிரச்சாரத்தை ஒடிஷா மாநில அரசு தொடங்கியுள்ளது.
  •  இளைஞர்களிடையே உள்ள திறமையை அடையாளம் காண்பது மற்றும் அவர்களை சமூகத்தில் அங்கீகரிப்பதே இந்த பிரச்சாரத்தின் நோக்கமாகும்.

 

 

•  21-ம் நூற்றாண்டின் சவால்களை கையாளுவதற்கு மாணவர்களுக்கு திறன் அளிப்பதற்காக சென்னையில் உள்ள இந்திய தொழில்நுட்ப நிறுவனத்தின் தொழில் முனைவோர் பிரிவு(E-Cell – Entrepreneur-cell) ‘E-21’என்ற பிரச்சாரத்தை தொடங்கியுள்ளது.(E21 – campaign)
  • இதன் நோக்கம் சென்னையில் உள்ள, பல்வேறு பள்ளிகளில் பயிலும் 150 மாணவர்களின் புதுமைப்;புனைவு, படைப்புத்திறன், தொழில் முனைவுத் திறன் மற்றும் சவால்களை எதிர்த்து போராடுதல் ஆகியவற்றின் திறன்கள் மீதான கவனத்தை செலுத்துதல் ஆகும்.

 

 

• FAME இந்தியா – II – மின் வாகனங்களை அதிக அளவில் உற்பத்தி செய்வதற்காக சலுகை அளிக்கும் FAME இந்தியா – II திட்டத்தை செப்டம்பர் 7 அன்று, புது டெல்லியில் நடக்கும் உலக இயக்க மாநாடான ‘மூவ்’ மாநாட்டின் தொடக்க அமர்வின் போது இத்திட்டம் தொடங்கப்பட இருக்கிறது.
  • FAME இந்தியா – ஐ திட்டமானது நாட்டில் சுற்றுச் சூழலுக்கு உகந்த வாகனங்களை ஊக்குவிப்பதற்காக, தேசிய மின் இயக்கத் திட்டத்தின் கீழ் (NEMM – National Electric Mobility Mission) 2015-ம் ஆண்டில் தொடங்கப்பட்டது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.
  • FAME இந்தியா திட்டத்தின் விரிவாக்கம் – Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid Electric Vehicles – FAME

 

 

உலக நிகழ்வுகள் 

 

• வங்கக்கடலை சுற்றி அமைந்துள்ள நாடுகளின் பொருளாதார ரீதியான ஒத்துழைப்பை மேம்படுத்தும் வகையில், பிம்ஸ்டெக்(BIMSTEC) அமைப்பின் 4வது உச்சி மாநாடு நோபாளத்தின் தலைநகர் காத்மண்டுவில் ஆகஸ்ட் 30-31 தேதிகளில் நடைபெறுகிறது.
• இம்மாநாட்டின் கருத்துரு:
  • அமைதியை நோக்கிய, வளமான மற்றும் நிலையான வளர்ச்சி கொண்ட வங்காளப் பிராந்தியம் (Towards a peaceful, Prosperous and sustainable bay of Bengal region)
•  குறிப்பு:
  • BIMSTEC (Bay of Bengal Initiative for multi sectoral Technical and Economic Co-operation) இவ்வமைப்பில் இந்தியா, வங்கதேசம், மியான்மர், இலங்கை, தாய்லாந்து, பூடான், நேபாளம் ஆகிய நாடுகள் உறுப்பினர்களாக உள்ளன.
  •  இவ்வமைப்பு 1997ம் ஆண்டு தொடங்கப்பட்டது. இதன் தலைமையகம் வங்காளதேசத்தின் டாக்கா நகரில் உள்ளது.

 

 

• கீகோ – ரோபோ பள்ளிகளில் குழந்தைகளுக்கு பாடம் நடத்துவதற்காக பல்வேறு தொழில்நுட்ப வசதியுடன் கூடிய சிறியவகை ரோபோவை சீனா அறிமுகப்படுத்தியுள்ளது.

  • சமீபத்தில் உலக ரோபோ மாநாடு – 2018 சீனாவில் உள்ள பீஜிங்கில் நடைபெற்றது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

 

 

விளையாட்டு நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• 18வது ஆசிய விளையாட்டு போட்டியில் ஹெப்டத்லான் பிரிவில் தங்கம் வென்ற முதல் இந்திய வீராங்கனை எனும் பெருமையை ஸ்வப்னா பர்மான் பெற்று புதிய வரலாற்று சாதனையை படைத்துள்ளார்.
  • சீன வீராங்கனை குயங்லிங் வெள்ளிப் பதக்கத்தையும், ஜப்பான் வீராங்கனை யமாசகி வெண்கலப் பதக்கத்தையும் வென்றுள்ளனர்.

 

 

அறிவியல் மற்றும் தொழில்நுட்பம்  

 

•  கூகுள் கோ செயலி – பார்க்கும் மற்றும் வாசிக்கும் திறனற்றவர்களுக்கும் இணையப் பக்கத்தை பயன்படுத்தும் விதமாக கூகுள் நிறுவனம் கூகுள் கோ என்ற செயலியில், இணையப் பக்கங்களை 28 மொழிகளில் வாசிக்கும் புதிய தொழில்நுட்பத்தை அறிமுகப்படுத்தியுள்ளது.

• இந்தியாவின் பழைமையான பண்பாடு மற்றும் தற்போதைய நிலைமைகளுக்கிடையேயான தொடர்பை விளக்கும் ‘கலோனியல் சின்ட்ரோம் : தி விதோஷி மைண்ட் செட் இன் மார்டன் இந்தியா’ என்ற புத்தகத்தை ஆந்திரப் பிரதேசம் விசாகப் பட்டினத்தைச் சேர்ந்த பேராசிரியர் ‘ராமகிருஷ்ண ராவ்’ என்பவர் எழுதியுள்ளார்.

NATIONAL NEWS

• The Odisha government signed a memorandum of understanding with US-based ‘Malaria No More’ and India-based Malaria Elimination Trust to curb Malaria menace in the state. The Health Department signed the MoU with both the organisations in presence of Health Minister Pratap Jena.
  • This MoU aims at making Odisha “Malaria Free” and creating awareness about the best practices to prevent Malaria in Odisha, said the Health Minister.

 

• The Indian Space Research Organization, ISRO has unveiled India’s Gaganyaan programme for manned space flight before 2022 as announced by the Prime Minister on the Independence Day.
  • The manned mission to space will be having 3 crew members in space for 5-7 days. It will be launched with the help of GSLV Mk-III launch vehicle.

 

• The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave its approval for implementation of an umbrella scheme ‘Ocean Services, Technology, Observations, Resources Modelling and Science (O-SMART)’. The scheme encompasses a total of 16 sub-projects addressing ocean development activities such as Services, Technology, Resources, Observations and Science.

 

• The government of India and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) signed a $375 million loan agreement to contribute to double farming incomes in Madhya Pradesh by expanding irrigation networks and system efficiency.

 

• The third edition of World’s Biggest Open Innovation Model – Smart India Hackathon 2019 – was launched by the Union Minister for Human Resource Development, Prakash Javadekar in New Delhi. MHRD, AICTE, Persistent Systems and i4c have joined hands to make a hat trick with their highly popular and innovative Smart India Hackathon initiative (SIH).
  • For the 1st time, Private industry/organisations and NGOs can also send their problem statements to students under SIH-2019.

 

• Computer chip manufacturer NVIDIA collaborated with NITI Aayog as its Deep learning technology partner to support NITI Aayog’s “MoveHack”
  • MoveHack is a global mobility hackathon to crowdsource solutions, which focuses on the future of mobility in India.

 

• The Narendra Modi Government has constituted a high power committee to advise it on policy matters related to science, technology and innovation.
  • It is named as PM-STIAC (Science, Technology, Innovation Advisory Committee). The 21-member committee will be chaired by K Vijay Raghavan, Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government.

 

INTERNATIONAL NEWS

• The First South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Agri Cooperative Business Forum has begun in Kathmandu, Nepal. The theme of three-day Forum is the ‘Organizing and Strengthening Family Farmers’ Cooperatives to attain the Sustainable-Development-Goals-1 and 2 in South Asia’.

• The 4th BIMSTEC Summit began in Kathmandu, Nepal. The two-day Summit will be held with the main focus on countering terrorism, enhancing regional connectivity and boosting trade.
  • The theme of the summit is ‘Towards a peaceful, prosperous and sustainable Bay of Bengal region’. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold bilateral talks with leaders of BIMSTEC countries on the sidelines of the summit.

 

ECONOMY

• The Government of India and the IBRD of World Bank signed a total of $300 million agreement for the India Energy Efficiency Scale-Up Program in Delhi.

 

• The Reserve Bank of India has released its annual report in Mumbai. It was mentioned in the report that due to the evolving economic conditions, real GDP growth for 2018-19 is expected to increase to 7.4% from 6.7% in the previous year.

 

SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY

• Google announced Project Navlekha at its 4th edition of Google for India Event held in New Delhi. Project Navlekha has been launched to enable Indian publishers of regional languages to publish their content online, without facing the trouble of selling printed copies.

 

• The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) will outsource the production of the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicles (PSLVs) and Small Satellite Launch Vehicles (SSLVs) to private Industries. The Indian Space agency Chairman K Sivan informed that private industries will play a major role in capacity building.
  • The assistance of the country’s first astronaut Rakesh Sharma and that of foreign space agencies will be sought for the training of astronauts.

 

SPORTS

• Swapna Barman created history by becoming the first Indian heptathlete to win an Asian Games gold in Indonesia, a feat she achieved despite a toothache.

 

• Arpinder Singh ended India’s 48-year long wait for a gold in triple jump at the Asian Games with an effort of 77m. India’s last Asian Games gold medal in men’s triple jump had come in 1970 from Mohinder Singh Gill.

 

IMPORTANT DAYS

• The National Sports Day is celebrated every year on August 29 on the birth anniversary of Indian hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand.
  • He was famously known as ‘The Wizard’ for his superb ball control and had scored more than 1000 goals during his international career. The man known for his extraordinary goal-scoring skills has won three Olympic gold medals (in 1928, 1932, and 1936) during the time Indian hockey was the most dominant.
