தமிழக நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• கோவை ஸ்மார்ட் சிட்டி திட்டத்தின் ஒரு பகுதியாக, கோவையில் உள்ள வ.உ.சி மைதானத்தில் வை-பை(Wi-Fi) வசதியுடன் கூடிய செயற்கை மரம் அமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
  •  இதற்கு தங்க மரம் எனப் பெயரிடப்பட்டுள்ளது. இம்மரத்தைச் சுற்றி சுமார் 400மீ சுற்றளவிற்கு இலவச வை-பை கிடைக்குமாறு அமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
• குறிப்பு
  • ஸ்மார்ட் சிட்டி மிஷன் (Smart City Mission) என்னும் திட்டம் 2015ம் ஆண்டு மத்திய அரசால் அறிமுகப்படுத்தப்பட்டது.
  • இத்திட்டத்தின் மூலம் இந்தியாவில் மொத்தம் 100 நகரங்களை தேர்வு செய்து அந்நகரங்களின் உள்கட்டமைப்பு மற்றும் தொழில்நுட்ப வசதியை மேம்படுத்துகிறது.
  • 100வது ஸ்மார்ட் சிட்டியாக மேகலாயாவின் சில்லாங் தற்போது தேர்வாகியுள்ளது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

 

இந்திய நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• உலகிலேயே மிக உயரமான சிலையாக சர்தார் வல்லபாய் படேலின் சிலை (182 மீட்டர் உயரம்) அவரது பிறந்த நாளான அக்டோபர் 31ம் தேதி குஜராத் மாநிலம் வதோதராவில் அமைக்கப்பட்டு திறப்பு விழா நடைபெற உள்ளது.
  இச்சிலைக்கு ஒருமைப்பாட்டின் சிலை(Statue of Unity) எனப் பெயரிடப்பட்டுள்ளது.
  • மேலும் இவ்விடத்தில் 52 அறைகள் கொண்ட ‘ஸ்ரேஸ்த பாரத் பவன்’ என்ற கட்டிடமும் அமைய உள்ளது.

 

 

• சிறந்த மகளிர் தொழில் முனைவோர்களை ஊக்குவிக்கும் பொருட்டு, மத்திய சிறு, குறு மற்றும் நடுத்தர தொழில் நிறுவனங்கள் துறையுடன் இணைந்து மகளிர் தொழில் முனைவோர் சங்கம் நடத்திய 2018ம் ஆண்டிற்கான ‘மகளிர் தொழில்முனைவோர் மாநாடு(Woman Entrepreneurship Summit – 2018) புது டெல்லியில் ஆகஸ்ட் 25 அன்று நடைபெற்றது.

 

 

• இந்தியாவில் தோன்றிய யோகா-வை உலகறியச் செய்யும் பொருட்டு, தமிழகத்தில் உள்ள மாமல்லபுரத்தில் உலக யோகா திருவிழா 2018 தொடங்கியுள்ளது. இத்திருவிழா தமிழக சுற்றுலாத் துறையால் நடத்தப்படுகிறது.
  • இதில் இந்தியா, தாய்லாந்து, இலங்கை, சீனா, ஹாங்காங் நாட்டு யோகா கலைஞர்கள் பங்கேற்றுள்ளனர்.

 

 

விளையாட்டு நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• இந்தோனேசியாவில் நடைபெற்று வரும் ஆசிய விளையாட்டு போட்டியில், ஆண்கள் 400 மீட்டர் ஓட்டப்பந்தயத்தில் இந்தியாவின் முகமது அனாஸ் வெள்ளிப்பதக்கம் வென்றுள்ளார்.
  •  இதேபோல் பெண்கள் 400 மீட்டர் ஓட்டப்பந்தயத்தில் இந்தியாவின் ஹிமா தாஸ் வெள்ளிப் பதக்கம் வென்றுள்ளார்.

 

 

• பெல்ஜியம் நாட்டின் ஸ்டேவ்லெட் நகரில் நடைபெற்ற 11வது கிராண்ட் பிரிக்ஸ் கார்ப்பந்தயப் போட்;டியில் ஜெர்மனி வீரர் செபஸ்டின் வெட்டல் சாம்பியன் பட்டத்தைக் கைப்பற்றினார்.
  •  ஹாமில்டன் 2வது இடத்தையும், வெர்ஸ்ட்டாப்பன் 3வது இடத்தையும் பிடித்துள்ளனர்.

• ஆசிரியர் தினத்தையொட்டி (செப்டம்பர் 05), மத்திய அரசு சார்பில் சிறந்த ஆசிரியர்களுக்கு தேசிய நல்லாசிரியர் விருது வழங்கி கவுரவிக்கப்படுகிறது.
  • தேசிய நல்லாசிரியர் விருதுக்கு கோவை மாவட்டம் மதுக்கரை ஒன்றியம் மலுமிச்சம்பட்டி ஊராட்சி ஒன்றிய தொடக்கப்பள்ளி தலைமை ஆசிரியை ஆர்.ஸதி என்பவர் தேர்வு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளார்.

• பாதுகாப்பு ஆராய்ச்சி மற்றும் மேம்பாட்டுத்துறை (DRDO – Defence Research Development Organization) தலைவராக சதீஷ் ரெட்டி என்பவர் நியமிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார்.
• குறிப்பு
  • இந்தியாவின் பாதுகாப்பை மேம்படுத்துவதற்காக 1958ம் ஆண்டு DRDO தொடங்கப்பட்டது.
  • இதன் தலைமையம் புதுடெல்லியில் உள்ளது.

 

 

• சிக்கிம் மாநிலத்தின் 16வது ஆளுநராக பீகாரைச் சேர்ந்த கங்கா பிரசாத் மத்திய அரசால் நியமிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார்.
•  குறிப்பு
  • சிக்கிம் மாநிலமானது இந்தியாவின் 22வது மாநிலமாக 16 மே 1975ல் 36வது அhசியலமைப்பு திருத்தச் சட்டம் 1975ன் படி இணைத்துக் கொள்ளப்பட்டது.

 

 

வர்த்தக நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• உலக வங்கியானது முதல் பொதுவான சங்கிலித் தொடர் பத்திரமான ஐ – பத்திரத்தை (Bond – I ) உருவாக்கியுள்ளது.
  Bond – I என்பது சங்கிலித் தொடரால் வழங்கப்படும் புதிய கடன் கருவியின்(Block Chain Offered New Debt Instrument) சுருக்கமாகும்.
  •  ஐ – பத்திரமானது ஆஸ்திரேலியாவின் டாலர்களில் குறிக்கப்படும் ஈத்தேரியம் சங்கிலித் தொடர் பத்திரமாகும்.
  • இந்த பத்திரத்திலிருந்து கிடைக்கும் நிதிகள் நிலையான அபிவிருத்தி முயற்சிகளுக்குச்(SDI – Sustainable Development Initiative)-க்கு செலவிடப்படும்.

NATIONAL NEWS

• Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K Palaniswami laid the foundation stone for developing a Special Investment Region (SIR) in Krishnagiri district, Tamil Nadu. The Special Investment Region (SIR) is developed as part of Tamil Nadu’s efforts to enhance economic growth in northern parts of the state.
  • The SIR will be developed by GMR Infrastructures Ltd and Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation Ltd (TIDCO).

 

• To understand the way people travel how it contributes to air pollution and energy consumption, the New Delhi–based think tank, Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) released its analysis – titled The Urban Commute in Kolkata on pollution in urban commute.

 

• Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Palanisamy launched an app and a website on plastic pollution free Tamil Nadu. He inaugurated a campaign to highlight the impact of plastic pollution. He appointed actor Vivek as the brand ambassador of the project.
  • Tamil Nadu Government has announced plastic ban with effect from 1st January

 

• The highest pollution is due to transport in the national capital of Delhi. At the same time, Madhya Pradesh’s capital Bhopal has the lowest level of pollution. The Center for Science and Environment (CSE) has released the report named The Urban Commute after studying 14 cities in the country.

 

INTERNATIONAL NEWS

• The 8th meeting of India-Kenya Joint Trade Committee was held in Nairobi, Kenya. The meeting was co-chaired by Union Minister of Commerce & Industry and Civil Aviation, Suresh Prabhu and Mr Peter Munya, Cabinet Secretary (Minister) for Industry, Trade and Cooperatives, Government of Kenya.

 

• In Sri Lanka, the fourth Asian electoral stakeholder’s forum (AESF-IV) begins in Colombo to discuss the state of elections and democracy in the region. The two-day forum is being held for the first time in South Asia with support from the Election Commission of Sri Lanka and the Asian network for free elections (ANFREL).
  • The theme is, ‘Advancing Election Transparency and Integrity: Promoting and Defending Democracy Together’. India is being represented by Chief Electoral Officer of Maharashtra Ashwini Kumar and an NGO.

 

ECONOMY

• A central government report has ranked Punjab National Bank (PNB) as the best PSU bank in the overall digital transactions category in India. According to a PNB statement on Saturday, the report card on the banking sector’s performance in digital transactions was prepared by the Ministry of Finance.

 

AWARDS

• Asia Society, a global cultural organization announced that PepsiCo’s CEO Indra Nooyi will be honoured with the Game Changer of the Year title of the 2018 Asia Game Changer Awards in October 2018.

 

SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY

• Successfully sent twin BeiDou navigation satellites into the space on the Long March-3B carrier rocket from Xichang Satellite Launch Center in southwest China’s Sichuan Province.
  • This was the 283rd mission of the Long March-3B carrier rocket. They were developed by the Innovation Academy for Microsatellites of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

 

SPORTS

• 18-year-old Hima Das won the Silver medal in 400-meter race in ongoing Asian Games 2018, Indonesia. Hima clocked 79 seconds to complete her race. Muhammed Anas won Silver medal in Men’s 400m race. Dutee Chand also bagged silver medal in women’s 100 meter race.

 

• Japan won its first FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup title at the La Rabine Stadium in Vannes, France.

• “Atal Ji Ne Kaha” a book on former Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
  • Atal Ji Ne Kaha has been written, compiled and edited by Brijendra Rehi. The book has been published by Darpan Publication.
