தமிழக நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• தமிழக லோக் ஆயுக்தாவின் முதல் தலைவராக “பி.தேவதாஸ்” என்பவர் நியமிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார். மேலும் தமிழக லோக் ஆயுக்தாவில் நான்கு உறுப்பினர்களும் நியமிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளனர்.

இந்திய நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• இந்திய இராணுவமானது ஜம்மு காஷ்மீர் மாநிலம் சோக்லமேஸ்வர் கிராமத்தில் சிந்து நதியின் குறுக்கே 260 அடி நீளமுள்ள தொங்கு பாலத்தை 40 நாட்களில் அமைத்து சாதனைப் படைத்துள்ளது.
  • இதற்கு மைத்ரி பாலம் எனப் பெயரிடப்பட்டுள்ளது.

 

 

• ஒடிசாவைச் சேர்ந்த “கந்தமால் ஹால்டி” (Kandhamal Haldi) என்ற மஞ்சள் வகைக்கு, வர்த்தக மற்றும் தொழிற்துறை அமைச்சகத்தின் கீழ் செயல்படும் அறிவுசார் சொத்து இந்தியாவின் புவிசார் குறியீட்டைப் பெற்றுள்ளது.
  • சிறந்த மருத்துவ குணங்களை பெற்றதற்காக இப்புவிசார் குறியீடு வழங்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

 

 

• வாக்காளர்களுக்காக கல்வி மற்றும் விழிப்புணர்வை ஏற்படுத்துவதற்காக சமுதாய வானொலிகளுக்கு பயிற்சி வழங்குவதற்காக இந்திய தேர்தல் ஆணையமானது “SVEEP” (Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation Program) என்ற திட்டத்தை தொடங்கியுள்ளது.

 

 

விளையாட்டு நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• உலக ஸ்குவாஷ் வீரர்களின் தரவரிசைப் பட்டியலை உலக ஸ்குவாஷ் சம்மேளனம் வெளியிட்டுள்ளது. இதில், ஆண்கள் ஒற்றையர் பிரிவில் உலக சாம்பியனான எகிப்தைச் சேர்ந்த அலி பராக் முதலிடத்தைப் பிடித்துள்ளார்.
  • இந்தியாவின் சவுரவ் கோஷல் 10வது இடத்தைப் பிடித்துள்ளார். இதன் மூலம் முதல் 10 இடங்களில் இடம்பெற்ற முதல் இந்திய வீரர் என்ற பெருமையை பெற்றுள்ளார்.

 

 

அறிவியல் & தொழில்நுட்பம்

 

• சென்னை இந்திய தொழில்நுட்ப நிறுவனத்தின் (IIT – Madras) குழுவானது பெட்ரோலியத்தின் கழிவுப் பொருளான டொலுவினை பென்சாயிக் அமிலாக மாற்றியமைத்துள்ளது.
  • இந்த பென்சாயிக் அமிலமானது, உணவு பதப்படுத்தல் மற்றும் பூஞ்சை, பாக்டீரியா தொற்றிற்கு மருந்தாகவும் பயன்படுகிறது.

• சர்வதேச குழந்தைகளின் புத்தக தினம் – ஏப்ரல் 02 (International Children’s Book day)
  • குழந்தைகளுக்காகத் தங்கள் வாழ்வை அர்ப்பணித்த டென்மார்க்கைச் சேர்ந்த ஹான்ஸ் கிறிஸ்டியன் ஆன்டர்சனின் நினைவாகவும், வாசிப்பு பழக்கத்தின் இன்றியமையாமையைக் குழந்தைகள் உணரச் செய்வதற்காகவும் ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் ஏப்ரல் 02ம் தேதி – சர்வதேச குழந்தைகளின் புத்தக தினம் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது.

NATIONAL NEWS

• On 2nd April, 2019, India and Ukraine have discussed bilateral trade featuring the importance of exports and imports between the  2 countries. The deliberation was part of the 4th Meeting of India-Ukraine Working Group on Trade and Economic Cooperation (IU-WGTEC) held in New Delhi.
  • Both the countries should share the mandatory requirement to be fulfilled at the time of exporting or importing of any product to promote trade.

 

• The Indian Army has achieved a record-breaking feat by constructing ‘Maitri’, the 260-feet longest suspension bridge over the Indus river in the Leh-Ladakh region in just 40 days.
  • The combat engineers belonging to ‘Sahas aur Yogyata’ regiment of ‘Fire and Fury Corps’ of the Indian Army undertook the construction of ‘Maitri’.

 

• On 3rd April 2019, as per the State of Global Air 2019 report, over 1.2 million people died in India due to air pollution in 2017.
  • Nearly 5 million deaths from stroke, diabetes, heart attack, lung cancer, and chronic lung disease in 2017 happened due to the overall long-term exposure to outdoor and indoor air pollution.

 

INTERNATIONAL NEWS

• President Ram Nath Kovind was on a visit of Bolivia from 28th to 30th March, 2019. He reached Santa Cruz, Bolivia on the second leg of his three nation visit to Croatia, Bolivia and Chile. This is the first visit by an Indian President to Bolivia.
  • Ram Nath Kovind adressed the Bolivia-India Business Forum

 

SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

• Astronomers have discovered a new exoplanet using NASA’s exoplanet-hunting space telescope, TESS. The exoplanet is said to be 60 times bigger than our planet and is five-billion-year-old planet.
  • The exoplanet is dubbed TOI-197.0 or “hot Saturn” because of its size and hot temperature.

 

ECONOMY

• India’s future forward real estate company, Talenmark announced that their ambitious and iconic structure deemed to be “The Biggest Cultural Center of India” is under construction in Calicut, Kerala.
  • The unique building is more than 80 per cent finished and will be ready for launch in March 2020. The Cultural Monument that promises to be something that all Indians will be proud of was conceived as part of the 125 acres integrated township project ‘Markaz Knowledge City’.

 

SPORTS

• On 1st April 2019, Saurav Ghosal moved up two places to become the first Indian male squash player to break into the top 10 of the latest PSA (Professional Squash Association) world ranking. He is ranked at 10th Place which is his career best ranking.
  • Saurav Ghosal performed brilliantly in the 2018-2019 PSA World Championship which was held in Chicago, USA and reached up to the quarter finals.

 

APPOINTMENTS

• On 3rd April 2019, Air Marshal D Choudhury AVSM VM VSM has been appointed as Senior Air Staff Officer, Western Air Command.
  • He was commissioned on 22nd December 1983.

 

AWARDS

• On 2nd April 2019, Hero MotoCorp Chairman, Pawan Munjal has been honoured with ‘the Asian Tour with a Special Achievement Award’ at the ceremony of Hero Indian Open Golf tournament for his contributions to Asian Golf.
  • Pawan Munjal is a fine golfer himself. He has been supporting the Hero Indian Open for 14 years, along with the Hero Women’s Indian Open, the Hero Challenge series on the European Tour and the Hero World Challenge on the PGA Tour and also hosts multiple golf tournaments in India, including the marquee Hero Indian Open for both men and women.

 

IMPORTANT DAYS

• The Government of India organizes “Prevention of Blindness Week” annually from 1st to 7th April to raise awareness regarding the precautions to be taken to prevent blindness.
  • The target of the day is on detection, cure and treatment of eye diseases.
