இந்திய நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• 2019ம் ஆண்டு நடைபெறும் மக்களவைத் தேர்தலில் ஒட்டுமொத்த நாடும் மின்னணு வாக்குப்பதிவு இயந்திரம் மூலமாக வாக்களிக்க உள்ள நிலையில் தெலுங்கானாவின் நிஜாமாபாத் தொகுதி வாக்காளர்கள் மட்டும் வாக்குப்பதிவு சீட்டு மூலம் வாக்களிக்க உள்ளனர்.
  • நிஜாமாபாத் தொகுதியில் 185 வேட்பாளர்கள் போட்டியிடுவதால் தேர்தல் ஆணையமானது வாக்குச்சீட்டு முறையை தேர்ந்தெடுத்துள்ளது.

 

 

• இந்தியக் கடற்படை, இந்தியக் கடலோர காவற்படை மற்றும் மொரீஷியஸ் கடலோர காவற்படை ஆகியவற்றிற்கு 100 போர் கப்பல்களை கட்டமைத்து வழங்கிய இந்தியாவின் முதலாவது கப்பல் கட்டும் தளமாக கொல்கத்தாவில் உள்ள கார்டன் ரீச் கப்பல் கட்டுமானம் மற்றும் பொறியாளர்கள் என்ற நிறுவனம் உருவெடுத்துள்ளது.
  • இது தற்போது தனது 100வது போர் கப்பலான “IN LCU – L
    56” என்பதை உருவாக்கியுள்ளது.

 

 

 உலக நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• ரஷியாவிடமிருந்து 5ம் தலைமுறை சுகோய் – 57 ரக போர் விமானங்களை சீனா வாங்கவுள்ளது. ரஷ்யாவின் “ரோஸ்டக் ஆயுத தளவாட” உற்பத்தி நிறுவனம் இந்த போர் விமானங்களை தயாரித்துள்ளது.
• குறிப்பு:
  • இந்தியாவானது பிரான்ஸ் நாட்டிடமிருந்து ரஃபேல் ரக போர் விமானங்களை வாங்க ஒப்பந்தம் செய்துள்ளது.

 

 

• ஜப்பானின் புதிய பேரரசராக, இளவரசர் நரு ஹிடோ, 2019 மே 1ம் தேதி முடிசூட உள்ளார். இவரது ஆட்சி காலம், “ரெய்வா சகாப்தம்” என அழைக்கப்படுகிறது.
  • ஜப்பானின் தற்போதைய சகாப்தம் “ஹெய்சேய்” ஆகும். அதன் பொருள் சமாதானத்தை அடைதல் என்பதாகும்.

 

 

விளையாட்டு நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• தைவானில் நடைபெற்ற ஆசிய ஏர்கன் துப்பாக்கிச் சுடுதல் போட்டியில் இந்திய அணி 16 தங்கம், 5 வெள்ளி, 4 வெண்கலம் என மொத்தம் 25 பதக்கங்களை வென்றுள்ளது.
  • கடைசி நாளில், 10 மீட்டர் ஏர் ரைபிள் ஜூனியர் ஆண்கள் பிரிவில் இந்தியாவின் “யாஷ் வர்தன்” உலக சாதனையுடன் தங்கப் பதக்கம் வென்றுள்ளார்.

 

 

 விருதுகள்

 

• மூத்த நடிகையான “ரீட்டா மோரேனா” 2019ம் ஆண்டிற்கான பீபாடி தொழில்சார் சாதனையாளர் விருதினை பெற்றுள்ளார். (Peabody Career Achievement Award)
  • இந்த விருதானது மின்னணு ஊடகத்தில் ஆற்றிய பணி மற்றும் பொறுப்பின் மூலம் அந்தத் துறையில் அழியாத அடையாளத்தை விட்டுச் சென்றவர்களுக்கு வழங்கப்படுவதாகும்.

• சர்வதேச கால்பந்து கூட்டமைப்பின் (FIFA) முதல் இந்திய உறுப்பினராக பிரஃபுல் பட்டேல் (Praful Patel) என்பவர் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார்.

  • உலகம் முழுவதும் மன இறுக்க கோளாறுடன் வாழும் மக்கள் குறித்து விழிப்புணர்வை ஏற்படுத்துவதற்காக ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் ஏப்ரல் 2 அன்று உலக ஆட்டிஸம் விழிப்புணர்வு தினம் கடைபிடிக்கப்படுகிறது.
  • 2019ம் ஆண்டின் உலக ஆட்டிஸம் விழிப்புணர்வு தினத்தின் மையக்கருத்து :- “Assistive Technologies, Active Participation” (தொழில்நுட்ப துணையுடன், செயலில் பங்கேற்பு”) என்பதாகும்.

 

 

 ENGLISH CURRENT AFFAIRS

 

NATIONAL NEWS

• The Ministry of Home Affairs has constituted Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Tribunal, to determine the sufficient cause to ban Jamaat-e-Islami, and Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) faction. It will be headed by Justice Chander Shekhar of the Delhi High Court.
  • The tribunal has been formed by Government after exercising its powers conferred by the sub-section (1) of section 5 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967.

 

• For the second successive year, Telangana has been ranked first in e-learning training programme of Department of Personal and Training (DoPT) of the Government India.
  • During the financial year 2018-19, Dr MCR HRD Institute enrolled over 20,000 field staff in different districts of the State to impart training on 12 soft skill modules and three domain-specific modules on RTI

 

• The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), which runs the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) network, has slashed usage fees for small transactions to expand the system’s adoption among banks and payment service providers (PSPs).
  • For UPI transactions up to Rs. 1,000, the charge has been cut to 10 paise from 25 paise. The charge for transactions above Rs. 1,000 has been retained at 50 paise.

 

INTERNATIONAL NEWS

• On 2nd April, 2019, Japanese printers have issued the name for its new imperial era which will be set in motion on 1st May 2019 as the public tried to make sense of the meaning of “Reiwa” a day after its unveiling gripped the nation.
  • The name ‘Reiwa’ which consists two Chinese characters, the first meaning ‘good’ or ‘beautiful’ as well as ‘order’ or ‘command’ and the second meaning ‘peace’ or ‘harmony’.

 

ECONOMY

• Total Gross GST revenue collected in the month of March, 2019 has crossed the Rupees One Lakh Crore mark as it has recorded the collection of 1,06,577 crore of which CGST is Rs. 20,353 crore, SGST is Rs.27,520 crore, IGST is Rs.50,418 crore (including Rs. 23,521crore collected on imports) and Cess is Rs. 8,286 crore (including Rs. 891crore collected on imports).
  • Since the launch GST, the collection during March, 2019 has been the highest.

 

SPORTS

• Five times world champion Lewis Hamilton took a lucky Bahrain Grand Prix win for Mercedes after engine trouble in the dying stages denied Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc a first Formula One victory.
  • Hamilton’s win was the 74th of his career but first this season. He is now 17 wins short of Michael Schumacher’s all-time record of 91.

 

APPOINTMENTS

• Rajan Anandan, Google’s Vice President for South East Asia and India, has quit the company and joined Sequoia Capital India as a Managing Director.
  • Anandan will continue at Google till the end of April and Vikas Agnihotri, Country Director, Sales will take on the responsibility in the interim for Google India.

 

AWARDS

• Kandhamal Haldi (turmeric), Odisha’s locally grown turmeric in its Kandhamal district has received the Geographical Indications (GI) tag from Intellectual Property India. It is organically grown by tribals.
  • In 2018, Kandhamal Apex Spices Asso ciation for Marketing (KASAM) in Phulbani, had applied for registration of the Kandhamal turmeric.

 

BOOKS

• The Indian Publishing company, Garuda Prakashan Private Limited, launched its two books “#Modi Again” and “Saffron Swords – Centuries of Indic Resistance to Invaders”.
  • “#Modi Again: Why Modi is right for India, An Ex-Communist’s Manifesto” authored by Aabhas Maldahiyar, states the reasons about how Narendra Modi is right for India.

 

IMPORTANT DAYS

• World Autism Awareness Day is an internationally recognized day on 2 April every year, encouraging Member States of the United Nations to take measures to raise awareness about people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) throughout the world.
  • The theme of this year is: “Assistive Technologies, Active Participation.”
