About CISF

  1. Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) provides security to over 356 industrial units –­­­­­­­­­­(including 13 Private Sector units), government infrastructure projects and airports.
  2. The force is under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
  3. The Central Industrial Security Force was set up under an Act of the Parliament of India on March 15, 1969.
  4. It was made an armed force of India by another Act of Parliament passed on June 15, 1983.
  5. The Central Industrial Security Force also plays an important role in Disaster Management.

  2. Nina Singh was elevated to the post of Director General in the Paramilitary Force.

Who is Nina Singh?

  1. Nina Singh is a 1989-batch IPS officer of the Rajasthan cadre. Singh is currently working as Special DG, CISF.
  2. As per the order, she has been appointed to the post till her superannuation on July 31, 2024.
  3. She replaces Vice Sheel Vardhan Singh.
