About CISF
- Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) provides security to over 356 industrial units –(including 13 Private Sector units), government infrastructure projects and airports.
- The force is under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
- The Central Industrial Security Force was set up under an Act of the Parliament of India on March 15, 1969.
- It was made an armed force of India by another Act of Parliament passed on June 15, 1983.
- The Central Industrial Security Force also plays an important role in Disaster Management.

- Nina Singh was elevated to the post of Director General in the Paramilitary Force.
Who is Nina Singh?
- Nina Singh is a 1989-batch IPS officer of the Rajasthan cadre. Singh is currently working as Special DG, CISF.
- As per the order, she has been appointed to the post till her superannuation on July 31, 2024.
- She replaces Vice Sheel Vardhan Singh.
