SSC CGL 2024 Selection Process

Tier 1:

  • Mode: Computer-Based Test (CBT)
  • Duration: 60 minutes
  • Sections: 4 (General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, English Comprehension)
  • Questions: 100 (25 questions in each section)
  • Marks: 200 (2 marks for each correct answer)
  • Negative Marking: 0.50 marks deducted for each incorrect answer

Tier 2:

  • Mode: Computer-Based Test (CBT)
  • Duration: 2 hours for each  paper
  • Sections:  Paper I (Quantitative Abilities),  Paper II (English Language and Comprehension), Paper III ( Statistics) – applicable for certain posts
  • Questions: Varies based on the  paper
  • Marks: Varies based on the paper
  • Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted for each incorrect answer in Paper II (English Language and Comprehension), 0.50 marks for Paper I and Paper III

Tier 3:

  • Mode: Pen and Paper (Descriptive)
  • Duration: 1 hour
  • Sections: Essay/Precis/Letter/Application Writing
  • Marks: 100

Tier 4:

  • Mode: As applicable for specific posts
  • Nature: Qualifying in nature
  • Sections: Data Entry Skill Test (DEST) for Tax Assistants and Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) for Assistant Section Officer in CSS and Assistant in MEA

A Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks in Mathematics in Class 12th.

Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer (AAO) To apply for SSC CGL 2024 as AAO,
Essential qualification: Candidates need a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university.Desirable qualifications: Additional qualifications for this post are as follows:

5. Masters in Business Studies,
6. Masters in Business Administration (Finance), or Masters in Business Economics.
Statistical Investigator Grade-II A bachelor’s degree from an approved institution or institute in any field, including statistics.

Assistant in National Company Law Appellate Tribunal Essential qualification: A bachelor’s degree from a reputed university or institute is required.

Desirable qualifications: A law degree from an accredited university is desired.

Research Assistant in National Human Rights Commission Essential qualification: Bachelor’s degree from authorized universities or institutes.

Desirable qualifications:
– At least one year of research experience at a reputable university or research institution.
– A legal or human rights degree from an approved university.

Other Post Essential qualification: Bachelor’s degree in any field from an accredited university, or an equivalent qualification.
