• பாதுகாப்புத் துறையில் பிரான்ஸ_டன் நிலவி வரும் ஒத்துழைப்பு மேலும் வலுப்படும் என பாதுகாப்புத்துறை அமைச்சர் ராஜ்நாத்சிங் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.
  • பிரான்ஸ் நாட்டில் தயாரிக்கப்பட்ட அதிதிறன் வாய்ந்த ரஃபேல் ரகத்தைச் சேர்ந்த முதல் போர் விமானம் இந்தியாவிடம்10.19 ஒப்படைக்கப்பட்டது.

 

 

• ‘கங்கா அமந்திரன் அபியான்’ என்பது கங்கா நதியில் ஒரு முன்னோடி மற்றும் வரலாற்று ஆய்வு திறந்த நீர் ராஃப்டிங் மற்றும் கயாக்கிங் பயணம் ஆகும். இது அக்டோபர் 10, 2019 முதல் 11 நவம்பர் 2019 வரை நடைபெற உள்ளது. தேவ்பிரயாகில் தொடங்கி கங்கா சாகரில் முடிவடையும் இந்த பயணம் முழு நேரத்தையும் உள்ளடக்கும் கங்கை ஆற்றின் 2500 கி.மீ. தூய்மையான கங்கைக்கான தேசிய மிஷன் ஆற்றின் முழு நீளத்திலும் படகில் செல்வதற்கான முதல் முயற்சி இதுவாகும். கங்கா எதிர்கொள்ளும் சுற்றுச்சூழல் சவால்கள் குறித்து இந்த பயணம் கவனத்தை ஈர்க்கும்.

• ஐசிசி டெஸ்ட் பேட்டிங் தரவரிசை பட்டியலில் இந்திய வீரர் ரோஹித் சர்மா 36 இடங்கள் முன்னேறி 17-ஆவது இடத்திற்கு வந்துள்ளார்.

• சூரியக்குடும்பத்தைச் சேர்ந்த சனி கிரகத்தைச் சுற்றி வரும் 20 புதிய நிலவுகளை விஞ்ஞானிகள் கண்டறிந்துள்ளனர். இத்துடன், அந்தக் கிரகத்தைச் சுற்றி வரும் நிலவுகளின் எண்ணிக்கை 82-ஆக உயர்ந்துள்ளது. இதையடுத்து, அதிக நிலவுகளைக் கொண்ட சூரியக்குடும்பத்துக் கிரகம் என்ற பெருமையை சனி பெறுகிறது. இதுவரை 79 நிலவுகளைக் கொண்ட ஜூபிடரே அதிக நிலவுகளைக் கொண்ட கிரகமாக இருந்து வந்தது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

• அமெரிக்க விண்வெளி ஆய்வு மையமான நாசாவின் விஞ்ஞானி நிக்ஹேக், ரஷியாவின் தீர விருதுக்குத் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார். இரண்டு ரஷிய விண்வெளி வீரர்களுடன் சர்வதேச விண்வெளி ஆய்வு மையத்தை நோக்கி நிக் ஹேக் கடந்த ஆண்டு புறப்பட்ட ரஷிய ராக்கெட், புறப்பட்ட சிறிது நேரத்திலேயே பழுதடைந்தது. அதையடுத்து, அந்த 3 பேரும் துணிச்சலுடன் தரையிறங்கினர். இது தொடர்பாகவே நிக்ஹேகுக்கு தீர விருது வழங்கப்படுவதாக தகவல்கள் தெரிவிக்கின்றன.

• இந்திய விமானப் படையின் 87வது நிறுவன தினம்10.19அனுசரிக்கப்பட்டது.
  • இந்திய விமானப்படை கடந்த 1932ஆம் ஆண்டு அக்டோபர் 8ஆம் தேதி தொடங்கப்பட்டது. அதையடுத்து ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் விமானப்படை தினம் (அக்டோபர் 8) கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது.

• On October 7, 2019 the Union minister of Jal Shakthi shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat launched ‘Ganga Aamantran’ abhiyan, a month long open-water rafting and kayaking expedition in New Delhi. The expedition which begins from October 10- November 11 2019, will cover an area of 25,000kms Devprayag in Uttarakhand to Ganga Sagar in West Bengal.

• On October 5, 2019 the Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan launched eco-friendly green firecrackers, manufactured in India and are also made available in markets for sellers and consumers. These green crackers were developed by the Indian Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) to combat air pollution.
  • The CSIR-NEERI has developed new formulations for reduced emission of light and sound emitting in crackers with 30% reduction in particulate matter.

 

 

• The government formed a 19-member Inter-Ministerial Co-ordination Committee (IMCC) chaired by the revenue secretary Ajay Bhushan Pandey to check money laundering activities. It is set up as per the powers conferred under Section 72A of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002.

SCIENCE AND TECH UPDATES

• A team of researchers led by Carnegie’s Scott S. Sheppard from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) discovered 20 new moons orbiting Saturn, increasing its tally of moons to 82. It surpassed the number of moons orbiting Jupiter planet which stands at 79.
  • This was announced by the International Astronomical Union’s (IAU) Minor Planet Center (MPC), France.

 

 

SPORTS

• On October 8, 2019, As per the world governing body of the sport FIBA (International Basketball Federation ), India will host the Tokyo Olympic Games 3×3 basketball qualifying tournament in March 2020 with a total  participation of 40 teams (20 male and 20 female teams).
