• உத்தரகாண்ட் மாநிலம் முசோரியில் நடைபெற்றது இமயமலை மாநாடு. இமயமலை மாநிலங்களின் வளர்ச்சி தொடர்பான பல்வேறு பிரச்சினைகள் குறித்து விவாதிப்பதே இதன் நோக்கம்.
  • இந்த மாநாட்டில் பிரதம விருந்தினராக மத்திய நிதியமைச்சர் நிர்மலா சீதாராமன் கலந்து கொள்கிறார்.

• உலக சுகாதார அமைப்பானது எச்ஐவி மருந்தான டொலுட்டிகிராவிர் (dolutegravir – DTG)என்பதனை அனைத்து மக்களுக்கும் முன்னுரிமை அடிப்படையில் முதல் நிலை மற்றும் இரண்டாம் நிலை சிகிச்சைக்கு பயன்படுத்தப் பரிந்துரைத்துள்ளது.
  • இது கர்ப்பிணிப் பெண்களுக்கும் கருத்தரிக்கும் வயதுடைய பெண்களுக்கும் பரிந்துரைக்கப்படுகின்றது.
  • DTG என்பது டிவிகே என்ற வியாபாரக் குறியீட்டுப் பெயரின் கீழ் விற்கப்படுகின்றது.
  • இந்த மருந்தானது மருந்து எதிர்ப்பை மேம்படுத்துவதற்கு அதிக மரபணுத் தொகுதியைக் கொண்டுள்ளது.
  • இந்த மருந்தானது நோய் எதிர்ப்பை மேம்படுத்துவதற்கு அதிக மரபணுத் தொகுதியைக் கொண்டுள்ளது என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

• சர்வதேச மணல் கலைஞரான பத்மஸ்ரீ சுதர்சன் பட்நாயக் அமெரிக்காவில் நடந்த பாஸ்டன் சர்வதேச மணல் கலை சாம்பியன்ஷிப்பில் மக்கள் தேர்வு பரிசை வென்றார்.
  • பாஸ்டனில் நடைபெற்ற 2019 ரெவரே பீச் சர்வதேச மணல் சிற்ப விழாவில் பங்கேற்க உலகம் முழுவதும் இருந்து தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்ட 15 சிறந்த மணல் கலைஞர்களில் பட்நாயக் ஒருவராக இருந்தார்.

• புலிகளின் இயற்கையான வாழ்விடங்களை பாதுகாக்கவும் ஊக்குவிக்கவும் மற்றும் புலிகள் பாதுகாப்பு குறித்த விழிப்புணர்வை அதிகரிக்கவும், சர்வதேச புலி தினம் அல்லது உலகளாவிய புலி தினம் ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் ஜுலை 29 ஆம் தேதி கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது.
• இது 2010 ஆம் ஆண்டு ரஷ்யாவில் நடைபெற்ற புனித பீட்டர்ஸ்பர்க் புலி உச்சி மாநாட்டில் நிபுணர்கள் குழுவால் 2022க்குள் புலிகளின் எண்ணிக்கையை இரட்டிப்பாக்கும் பொருட்டு அறிமுகப்படுத்தப்பட்டது.

• Himalayan Conclave held in Mussoorie in Uttarakhand. The objective is to discuss various issues related to the development of the Himalayan States.

• The Law Council have accepted legal proposal in the raise of Tamil Nadu State Minorities Commission from six to nine.

 

 

SCIENCE AND TECH UPDATES

• Dolutegravir is a second-generation HIV integrase strand transfer inhibitor (INSTI) and the most recent antiretroviral approved for treatment of HIV-1 infection.
  • Dolutegravir in combination with two nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors.

 

 

SPORTS

• A high level 10-member committee has been constituted on Friday under the chairmanship of Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju to coordinate and strategise the preparation for the 2020 and 2024 Olympics.
  • The objective of the committee is to ensure that the performance of the Indian athletes are optimised in the Olympics and other multidisciplinary events. 

 

 

• Six-time world champion Mary Kom in 51kg category and Simranjit Kaur in 60kg category grabbed a gold each in 23rd President’s Cup Boxing Tournament in Labuan Bajo, Indonesia. The Olympic bronze medallist Mary decimated Australian April Franks 5-0 in finals.
  • Simranjit Kaur defeated Indonesia’s Asian Games bronze medallist Hasanah Huswatun 5-0 in the final bout.

 

 

AWARDS

• International sand artist, Padmashri Sudarsan Pattnaik won People’s Choice Prize at Boston International Sand Art Championship in the US.
  • Pattnaik was among the 15 top sand artists selected from across the world to participate in the 2019 Revere Beach International Sand Sculpting Festival in Boston.
