• கங்லா தோங்பி போர் நினைவு தினம் – ஏப்ரல் 7, 1944
  • 2019ம் ஆண்டு ஏப்ரல் 7ம் நாள் கங்லா தோங்பி போரின் (Kangla Thogbi War) 75வது ஆண்டு நினைவு தினமானது இராணுவப் போர் தடவாளப் படையினால் மணிப்பூரின் இம்பாலுக்கு அருகில் உள்ள கங்லா தோங்பி போர் நினைவகத்தில் அனுசரிக்கப்பட்டது.
  • இந்தப் போரானது இரண்டாம் உலகப் போரில் 1944ல் ஜப்பானின் பர்மாவை நோக்கிய இலக்கின் மீதான திருப்பு முனையில் ஏற்பட்டது. இதே நேரத்தில் நாகலாந்தில் ஹோகிமா போர் நடைபெற்றது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

 

 

• CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) – வீரர்கள் மற்றும் அவர்களின் குடும்பங்களுக்கு அரசின் அனைத்து நல உதவிகள் கிடைத்திட வழிசெய்யும் வகையில், “CRPF Veer Parivar” என்ற மொபைல் செயலியை இந்திய குடியரசுத் தலைவர் ராம்நாத் கோவிந்த் அறிமுகப்படுத்தியுள்ளார்.

 

 

உலக நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• உலகின் முதல் “மாசு கட்டுப்பாட்டு கட்டண மண்டலமாக” பிரிட்டிஷ் தலைநகரம் லண்டன் உருவெடுத்துள்ளது. (Pollution Change Zone)
  • லண்டனில், அதிகமான வாகனங்களில் வெளியேறும் தீங்கு விளைவிக்கும் நைட்ரஜன் ஆக்ஸைடு உமிழ்வை குறைப்பதற்காக, “ULEZ” என்ற திட்டம் தொடங்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
  • ULEZ – Ultra Less Emission Zone.

 

 

 விளையாட்டு நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• இங்கிலாந்தைச் சேர்ந்த “விஸ்டன்” பத்திரிக்கையானது 2018ம் ஆண்டுக்கான உலகின் சிறந்த முன்னணி கிரிக்கெட் வீரர்/வீராங்கனை விருதை வழங்கியுள்ளது.
  • உலகின் சிறந்த முன்னணி வீரர் விருது இந்தியாவின் விராட் ஹோலிக்கு வழங்கப்பட்டது.
  • சிறந்த முன்னணி டி-20 வீரர் விருது ஆப்கானிஸ்தானின் ரஷித் கான் பெற்றுள்ளார்.
  • சிறந்த முன்னணி வீராங்கனை விருது இந்தியாவின் ஷ்மிருதி மந்தனா-விற்கு வழங்கப்பட்டது.

• தமிழ்நாடு மாநில தேர்தல் ஆணையராக இரா.பழனிசாமி என்பவர் பொறுப்பேற்றுள்ளார். இதற்கு முன் இருந்த மாலிக் பெரோஷ்கான் ஓய்வு பெற்றதைத் தொடர்ந்து இவர் நியமிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
• குறிப்பு:
  • தமிழக தேர்தல் அதிகாரியாக (Electro Officer) சத்திய விரத சாஹீ என்பவர் உள்ளார்.

 

 

பொருளாதார நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• உலக வங்கியின் இடப்பெயர்வு மற்றும் வளர்ச்சி என்ற அறிக்கையின்படி, 2019ம் ஆண்டில் வெளிநாட்டில் வாழும் நபர்கள் தனது சொந்த நாட்டிற்கு அனுப்பப்பட்ட பணத்தை பெற்ற நாடுகளில் உலகின் முன்னணி நாடாக இந்தியா உருவெடுத்துள்ளது.
  • இந்த அறிக்கையில், 2018ம் ஆண்டில் வெளிநாடு வாழ் இந்தியர்கள் மூலம் இந்தியாவிற்கு அன்னிய செலவாணி 79 பில்லியன் டாலர் கிடைத்துள்ளது.

• தேசிய பாதுகாப்பான தாய்மை தினம் – ஏப்ரல் 11 (National Safe Motherhood Day)
  • கர்ப்பிணி பெண்கள் மற்றும் பாலூட்டும் தாய்மார்களுக்கு முறையான சுகாதார மற்றும் மகப்பேறு வசதிகள் பற்றிய விழிப்புணர்விற்காக ஆண்டுதோறும் ஏப்ரல் 11ல் தேசிய பாதுகாப்பான தாய்மை தினம் அனுசரிக்கப்படுகிறது.
  • 2019ன் தேசிய பாதுகாப்பான தாய்மை தினத்தின் மையக்கருத்து – “Midwives for Mothers” என்பதாகும்.

NATIONAL NEWS

• According to the United Nations Population Fund,India’s population grew to36 billion at an average annual rate of 1.2% between 2010 and 2019 which stands more than double the annual growth rate of China.
  • The UN sexual and reproductive health agency in the State of World Population Reportstated that India’s population of 36 billion in 2019 has picked growing from 942.2 million in 1994 and 541.5 million in 1969.

 

• On 11^thApril 2019, India and Sweden inked a pact that will deal a range of challenges around smart cities and clean technologies among others.The programme co- sponsored by Indian Department of Science and Technologies (DST) and Swedish agency Vinnova.
  • Vinnova donate to Swedish participants upto 2,500,000 Swedish Krona (around Rs. 1.87 crore).From Indian side, provide upto 50% per project to the Indian partners.

 

INTERNATIONAL NEWS

• National Mission for Clean Ganga or Namami Gangewhich is India’s flagship programme,  was approved, with the ‘Public Water Agency of the Year’ award at the Global Water Summit held in London on 9th April, 2019.
  • National Mission for Clean Ganga was awarded this for its initiatives in the water sector which brings remarkable improvements in the lives of people.

 

SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

• Google has launched a new open platform named ‘Anthos’to run and manage apps from anywhere.It lets users run applications on the public cloud or on  existing on-premise hardware investments.
  • It helps the users to manage workloads running on third-party clouds like Microsoft Azureand Amazon AWS.

 

ECONOMY

• The Cabinet Committee of Security has cleared the procurement of 464  Russian tanks under T-90 project in a deal worth over Rs 13,500 crore.
  • The tanks would be given to the Armoured Corps of the forcewhich will be furthered used by them for deployment along the India-Pakistan border.

 

SPORTS

• On 10th April, 2019, All India Tennis Associationhas collaborated with STF (Serbian Tennis Federation) to train Indian junior players under world renowned Serbian coaches, at the RK Khanna Stadium.
  • This pact will aim to cooperate within the sphere of competence to work towards the development of junior tennis players in India.

 

APPOINTMENTS

• Justice Vikram Nath, the senior most judge of Allahabad High Court, was appointed as the first Chief Justiceof the newly-constituted Andhra Pradesh High Court.
  • The new Andhra Pradesh High court was established on January 1 this year following the division of a combined high court of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

 

AWARDS

• Digital Sukoon founder, Sudhanshu Kumarwas honoured with the Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Nobel Award by International Human Rights Council at Hotel Sea Princess Juhu Mumbai.
  • Among the awardee, Digital Sukoon wasthe Best Digital Agency of the Year 2019 to receive the award.

 

IMPORTANT DAYS

• Every year 11th April is observed as Safe Motherhood Day.
  • On April 11, 2019, the Indian Government along with The White Ribbon Alliance (WRAI) (UNICEF is an active member of WRAI) conducted a national stakeholders’ meeting, in Delhi, to discuss on the pressing issues relating to women’s health.
