• முதல் முறையாக வாக்களிப்பவர்களை ஊக்குவிப்பதற்காக “சங்கல்ப் (Sankalp)” என்ற மொபைல் செயலியை அசாம் மாநிலத்தின் போங்கைகான் மாவட்ட நிர்வாக அமைப்பு உருவாக்கியுள்ளது.

• 5G தொழில்நுட்ப முறை கொண்ட உலகின் முதல் மாவட்டமாக சீனாவில் உள்ள ஷாங்காய் அறிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
  • இது மூன்றாம் தலைமுறை கூட்டாண்மை திட்டத்தின் அடிப்படையில் உருவாக்கப்பட்ட கம்பியில்லா தகவல் தொடர்பு தொழில்நுட்பமாகும்.

• அமெரிக்காவில் நடைபெற்ற மியாமி ஓபன் டென்னிஸ் போட்டியில் ஆண்கள் ஒற்றையர் பிரிவில் சுவிட்சர்லாந்து நாட்டைச் சேர்ந்த “ரோஜர் பெடரர்”அமெரிக்காவின் ஜான் இன்னரை வீழ்த்தி சாம்பியன் பட்டம் வென்றுள்ளார்.
  • பெண்கள் ஒற்றையர் பிரிவில் ஆஸ்திரேலியாவின் “ஆஷ்லி பர்டி” சாம்பியன் பட்டம் வென்றுள்ளார்.

 

 

அறிவியல் மற்றும் தொழில்நுட்பம்

 

• இந்திய விண்வெளி ஆராய்ச்சி கழகமானது (ISRO), பாதுகாப்பு ஆராய்ச்சி மேம்பாட்டு அமைப்பிற்கு (DRDO) உதவுவதற்காக, மின்னணு உளவுத் துறை செயற்கை கோளான “எமிசாட்” (EMI SAT) மற்றும் 28 வெளிநாட்டு செயற்கை கோள்களை, “PSLV –  C45” இராக்கெட் மூலம் 01.4.2019 அன்று வெற்றிகரமாக விண்ணில் செலுத்தியுள்ளது.
  • 436 கி.கி எடையுள்ள எமிசாட், இராணுவத்திற்கு விரோதமான ரேடார்களைக் கண்டறிய உதவுகிறது.
  • PSLV – C45 இராக்கெட்டில் அனுப்பப்பட்ட 28 செயற்கைகோள்களில் 24 செயற்கைகோள் அமெரிக்காவிற்கு சொந்தமானது. அதில் FLOCK – 4A à 20, LEMUR – 4 ஆகியவை அடங்கும்.
  • 2 செயற்கைகோள் லித்துவேனியாவிற்கு சொந்தமானது, அதில் Blue Walker மற்றும் M6P ஆகியவை அடங்கும்.
  • சுவிட்சர்லாந்தின் Astro Cast – 2 செயற்கோளும், ஸ்பெயினின் Aistech Sat – 3 செயற்கைகோளும் அனுப்பப்பட்டது.

 

 

• சீனாவின் இரண்டாவது தலைமுறை தரவு ரிலே செயற்கைகோளான Tian lian II – 01 என்ற செயற்கைகோள், லாங் மார்ச் – 3B என்ற இராக்கெட் மூலம் சிங்சாங் செயற்கைகோள் ஏவுதளத்திலிருந்து வெற்றிகரமாக விண்ணில் செலுத்தப்பட்டது.

 

 

பொருளாதார நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• பொதுத்துறை வங்கிகளான, விஜயா மற்றும் தேனா வங்கிகள் 1.04.2019 (நேற்று) முதல் “பாங்க் ஆப் பரோடா” வங்கியுடன் இணைக்கப்பட்டு செயல்பாட்டுக்கு வந்துள்ளது.
  • இந்த இணைப்பை அடுத்து, நாட்டின் பொதுத்துறை வங்கிகளின் எண்ணிக்கை 18 ஆக குறைகிறது. பேங்க் ஆப் பரோடா-வானது இந்தியாவின் மூன்றாவது பெரிய வங்கியாக உருவெடுத்துள்ளது.
  • முதலிடத்தில் ஸ்டேட் பாங்க் ஆப் இந்தியாவும், இரண்டாவது இடத்தில் பஞ்சாப் நேஷனல் வங்கியும் உள்ளது.

 

 

• இந்திய ரிசர்வ் வங்கி (RBI) துவங்கிய தினம் – ஏப்ரல் 1
  • முதல் உலகப்போருக்குப்பின் இந்தியாவில் ஏற்பட்ட பொருளாதார நெருக்கடியை தீர்க்க “ஹில்டன் யங் ஆணையத்தின்” பரிந்துரையின்படி, 1935 ஏப்ரல் 1ம் தேதி கல்கத்தாவில் தொடங்கப்பட்டது. 1937ல் மும்பைக்கு மாற்றப்பட்டது.
  • ரிசர்வ் வங்கியின் முதல் கவர்னர் சர் ஆஸ்போர்ன் ஆர்கெல் ஸ்மித் ஆவார்.
  • ரிசர்வ் வங்கியின் கவர்னர் பதவி வகித்த முதல் இந்தியர் சி.டி. தேஷ்முக் ஆவார்.
  • ரிசாவ் வங்கியானது, 1949 ஜனவரி 1ம் தேதி தேசியமயமாக்கப்பட்டது.

• ஒடிசா தினம் – ஏப்ரல் 01
  பிரிட்டிஷ் ஆட்சியின் கீழ், பீகார் மாகாணத்தின் ஒரு பகுதியாக இருந்த ஒடிசா 1936 ஏப்ரல் 1 அன்று முதல் மொழிவாரி மாநிலமாக பிரிக்கப்பட்டது. இந்த நாள் “உட்கல் திவாஸ்” (ஒடிசா தினம்) என்ற பெயரில் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது.

 

 

ENGLISH CURRENT AFFAIRS

 

NATIONAL NEWS

• A district in western Assam is going the digital way to attract the first-time voters towards the election process and ensure their participation. The district administration of Bongaigaon has developed a ‘Sankalp’ mobile phone application to especially reach out to the first-time voters.
  • Voters will have to input a few details, like name and age, and the app will track their polling station and other details. They will also be able to sign a digital ‘sankalp patra’, promising to cast their votes on the day of polling.

 

• Election Commission has approved a request of the Rural Development Ministry to revise the wages under the MGNREGA scheme from April 1.
  • The wages paid under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) are linked with the Consumer Price Index for agricultural labourers (CPI-AL).

 

INTERNATIONAL NEWS

• Australia is conducting 7 nation Indian Ocean military exercise along with Sri Lanka, India, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and Singapore. Australia sent 4 Naval Ships and one military aircraft along with around 1000 security personnel making it one the biggest military exercise.
  • The exercise is aimed to counter the growing Chinese influence in the Indian Ocean

 

SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY

• ISRO’s workhorse launch vehicle Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV C-45), in its 47th mission, has successfully launched the 436 kg EMISAT and 28 co-passenger satellites into their designated orbits from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. This was the 71st launch vehicle mission for Sriharikota

 

• China has successfully launched the first of its new-generation data relay satellites into orbit that will provide data relay, measurement and control services for its manned spacecraft.
  • The Tianlian II-01 satellite was launched by a Long March-3B carrier rocket from the Xichang Satellite Launch Centre.

 

ECONOMY

• In order to safeguard domestic players against cheap shipments, Department of Revenue, Government of India has imposed anti-dumping duty up to USD 1559 per tonne on the import of certain solar cell components (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate Sheet for Solar Module) from China, Malaysia, Saudia Arabia and Thailand for a period of 5 years.
  • This move is taken on the recommendation of Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR), which is the Investigation Arm of Ministry of Commerce.

 

SPORTS

• 2019 India Open which is officially known as YONEX-SUNRISE India Open 2019 was organized by the Badminton Association of India at the K.D. Jadhav Indoor hall in New Delhi from 26th March to 31 March 2019.
  • It was the eighth tournament of 2019 BWF (Badminton World Federation) World Tour. The Total Prize money of the tournament was $350,000.

 

APPOINTMENTS

• Manu Sawhney took over as the International Cricket Council (ICC) Chief Executive. Sawhney has been working alongside as the outgoing CEO David Richardson for the last six weeks to ensure a smooth transition within the organisation.
  • Richardson will remain with the ICC until July as originally planned to oversee the delivery of the upcoming Men’s Cricket World Cup 2019.

 

IMPORTANT DAYS

• Odisha celebrates its Foundation day on 1st April every year to commemorate the sacrifices of people for the formation of Odisha province in 1936. The Odisha Day is also known as “Utkal Divas”.
  • Various cultural programmes highlighting the history and culture of Odisha are organized on this day.
