இந்திய நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• இந்தியாவின் விண்வெளித் திட்டத்தின் எதிர்கால தொழில்நுட்ப திட்டங்களுக்கு ஏற்றவாறு மேம்பட்ட ஆராய்ச்சியை மேற்கொள்வதற்காக இஸ்ரோவானது இந்திய தொழில்நுட்ப நிறுவனம் (IIT – Roorkee) ரூர்க்கி உதவியுடன் விண்வெளி தொழில்நுட்ப மையத்தை (Space Technology Cell) அமைக்க உள்ளது.
  • இந்த மையமானது IIT – ரூர்க்கி வளாகத்தில் அமையவுள்ளது.

 

 

• இந்தியா – அமெரிக்க நாடுகளுக்கிடையேயான அணுசக்தி ஒப்பந்தத்தின் கீழ் 6 புதிய அணுமின் நிலையங்கள் அமெரிக்காவின் உதவியுடன் அமையவுள்ளது.
  • இந்த அணுசக்தி ஒப்பந்தமானது, 2024ம் ஆண்டுக்குள் நாட்டின் அணுமின் உற்பத்தித் திறனை 3 மடங்காக உயர்த்தும் நோக்கில் 2008ம் ஆண்டில் கையெழுத்தானது.

 

 

• தொழில் முனைவோர்களை ஊக்குவிப்பதற்கான புதுமை மற்றும் தொழில்முனைவோர்க்கான விழாவை, (FINE – Festival of Innovation and Entrepreneurship) குஜராத்தின் காந்திநகரில் குடியரசுத் தலைவர் ராம்நாத் கோவிந்த் தொடங்கி வைத்தார்.

• மனிதவள ஆதார நிறுவனமாக மெர்சர் அமைப்பின் வாழ்க்கைத் தரம் அதிகமுள்ள நகரங்களின் பட்டியலில் ஆஸ்திரியாவின் தலைநகரான வியன்னா தொடர்ந்து 10 ஆண்டுகளாக முதலிடத்தில் உள்ளது.
  • சுவிட்சர்லாந்தின் ஷிரிஷ் (Zurich) நகரம் இரண்டாவது இடத்தில் உள்ளது.
  • இந்தியாவின் ஹைதராபாத் நகரமானது 143வது இடத்தில் உள்ளது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

 

 

விருதுகள்

 

• இராணுவ வீரர்களுக்கு வழங்கப்படும் விருதான கீர்த்தி சக்ரா விருதானது (Kirti Chakra Award), மேஜர் துஷார் கௌபா (Major Tushar Gauba) மற்றும் ராஜேந்திர குமார் நயன் (Rajendra Kumar Nain) ஆகியோர்க்கு வழங்கப்பட்டது.

• டாக்டர் ஏ.கே. மொகந்தி (Dr. A.K. Mohanty) என்பவர் பாபா அணு ஆராய்ச்சி மையத்தின் இயக்குநராக பொறுப்பேற்றுள்ளார்.

முக்கிய தினங்கள்

 

• உலக நுகர்வோர் உரிமைகள் தினம் – மார்ச் 15
  • நுகர்வோர்களின் அடிப்படை உரிமைகளை ஊக்குவிப்பதற்காக 1983ம் ஆண்டு முதல் ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் மார்ச் 15ம் தேதி, உலக நுகர்வோர் உரிமைகள் தினம் (World Consumer Rights Day) கடைபிடிக்கப்படுகிறது.
  • 2019ம் ஆண்டின் உலக நுகர்வோர் உரிமைகள் தின மையக்கருத்து:- “நம்பகமான திறன்மிகு உற்பத்திகள்” (Trusted Smart Products) என்பதாகும்.
  • நுகர்வோர் பாதுகாப்புச் சட்டம் 1986ம் ஆண்டில் ஏற்படுத்தப்பட்டது.
  • தேசிய நுகர்வோர் உரிமைகள் தினம் – டிசம்பர் 24ல் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது.

 

 

• தேசிய தடுப்பூசி தினம் – மார்ச் 16 (National Vaccination Day)
  • இந்தியாவில் முதன்முதலாக 1995ம் ஆண்டு மார்ச் 16ந் தேதி முதல் போலியோ சொட்டு மருந்து கொடுக்கப்பட்டதன் நினைவாக ஆண்டுதோறும் மார்ச் 16ம் தேதி தேசிய தடுப்பூசி தினமாக (National Vaccination Day) கடைபிடிக்கப்படுகிறது.

NATIONAL NEWS

• India was ranked 16th in the world in terms of highest number of impacted species in biodiversity-rich zones (also known as hotspots) due to human actions. In India, 35 species affected on an average in biodiversity-rich zones.
  • Malaysia ranks first among countries with highest number of impacted species (on an average 125 species).

 

• On 15th March 2019, The President of India Ram Nath Kovind inaugurated the Festival of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (FINE) in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. 10th Biennial National Grassroots Innovation awards were also distributed by the President on the occasion.

 

• India and Pakistan have agreed to work together to operationalise the Kartarpur corridor which makes it easier for the Indian pilgrims to visit Gurdwara Darbar Sahib at Kartarpur in Pakistan.
  • The decision was made in the first meeting between Indian and Pakistani representatives held at Attari, Punjab in which the Indian delegation was led by S C L Das, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Pakistani delegation was led by Dr. Mohammad Faisal, Director General for South Asia and South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC).

 

INTERNATIONAL NEWS

• The African Development Bank (AfDB) would provide 5 trillion shillings ($25 billion) over the next 5 years to help in the global fight against climate change. The bank currently provides 34 per cent of its overall lending portfolio to projects aiming to boost the fight against climate change.
  • According to the AfDB, the central banks own $1.2 trillion dollars worth of reserves which could be redirected towards renewable energy financing initiatives to help fight climate change effects.

 

• The UK’s Royal Mint unveiled a new commemorative 50 pence coin inspired by the late legendary British physicist Stephen Hawking’s seminal work on black holes.
  • Hawking, one of the world’s best-known theoretical physicists who passed away aged 76 last year, joins the ranks of other eminent scientists such Isaac Newton and Charles Darwin to have a commemorative coin in honour of one of his greatest discoveries that black holes should not be all black.

 

ECONOMY

• The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), one of country’s leading think-tanks, will set up an industrial incubation facility of TERI-Deakin Nanobiotechnology Research Centre, in Odisha. The facility will support development of biotechnology solutions to address issues affecting agriculture, environment and energy.
  • The TERI-Deakin Nanobiotechnology Research Centre (TDNBC) offers to participate and to support the state government’s vision to promote and to assist further in implementing innovation and translational research.

 

SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY

• A man-portable anti-tank guided missile (MPATGM) was successfully test-fired in Rajasthan The missile has been developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). The indigenously developed, low-weight missile operates on a “fire and forget” principle, which means it does not require guidance after the launch.
  • MPATGM is incorporated with advanced features, including state-of-the-art imaging infrared radar-seeker with integrated avionics.

 

AWARDS

• Renowned Kathak dancer Seema Mehta has been conferred the ‘Nari Shakti Puraskar’ award for her contribution towards women empowerment over the last 15 years. She received the award from President Ram Nath Kovind at Rashtrapati Bhawan in New Delhi as part of the Women’s Day celebrations.
  • Mehta, who began her journey in Kathak set up her dance school in Mumbai in 2010.

 

IMPORTANT DAYS

• Every year 15th March is being observed as World Consumer Rights Day, as a means of raising global awareness about consumer rights and needs.
  • The theme for World Consumers day 2019 is “Trusted Smart Products”.
