• அகில இந்திய சுகாதார மருத்துவ ஆராய்ச்சி பல்கலைக் கழகங்களின் மாநாடு, தமிழ்நாடு டாக்டர் எம்.ஜி.ஆர் பல்கலைக்கழகத்தில் நடைபெற்றது.
  •  இம்மாநாட்டில், தேசிய அளவிலான மருத்துவசேவை நீடித்த வளர்ச்சி இலக்குகளில் தமிழகம் 2வது இடத்தில் உள்ளதாக அறிவிக்கப்பட்டது.

 

 

இந்திய நிகழ்வுகள்

 

•  8 வயது முதல் 12 வயதிற்குட்பட்ட திறமை வாய்ந்த விளையாட்டு வீரர்களை அடையாளம் காண்பதற்காக, தேசிய விளையாட்டுத் திறன் தேடல் (NSTSS – National Sports Talent Search Scheme) எனும் திட்டத்தை மத்திய இளைஞர் விவகார மற்றும் விளையாட்டுத் துறை அமைச்சகம் தொடங்கியுள்ளது.

 

 

• பிரதம மந்திரி மாத்ரு வந்தனா திட்டம் (Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana – PMMVY) எனும் மகப்பேறு உதவித் திட்டத்தின் கீழ், மாநிலங்கள் மற்றும் யூனியன் பிரதேசங்களின் செயல்திறன் அடிப்படையில், ஆந்திரப் பிரதேசம் முன்னிலையில் உள்ளது.
  • அதைத் தொடர்ந்து இமாச்சலப் பிரதேசம் மற்றும் மத்தியப் பிரதேசம் ஆகிய மாநிலங்கள் உள்ளதாக மகளிர் மற்றும் குழந்தைகள் மேம்பாட்டு அமைச்சகம் வெளியிட்டுள்ளது.

 

 

• அந்தமான் நிகோபாரில் உள்ள 3 தீவுகளின் பெயர்களை மத்திய அரசு மாற்றவுள்ளது அவையாவன:
  • ரோஸ் தீவு என்பதை நேதாஜி சுபாஷ் சந்திர போஸ் தீவு என்றும்
  • ஹேவ்லாக் தீவு – ஸ்வராஜ் தீவு என்றும்,
  • நெயில் தீவு – சாஹித் தீவு என்றும் மாற்றப்பட உள்ளது.

 

 

• முன்னாள் பிரதமர் வாஜ்பாய் அவர்களின் 94வது பிறந்த நாளான, டிசம்பர் 25ல், அவரது நினைவாக அவரது உருவம் பொறித்த 100 ரூபாய் நாணயம் வெளியிடப்பட்டுள்ளது.

 

 

உலக நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• சர்வதேச ஒற்றுமை மற்றும் அகதிகள் பாதுகாப்புக்கான ஒத்துழைப்பை உறுதிப்படுத்தும் வகையில், அகதிகள் மீதான உலகளாவிய உடன்படிக்கைக்கு ஐ.நா.வின் உறுப்பு நாடுகள் ஒப்புதல் அளித்துள்ளது.
  • அமெரிக்கா மற்றும் ஹங்கேரி ஆகிய நாடுகள் மட்டும் இந்த உடன்படிக்கைக்கு எதிராக வாக்களித்தன.

• உயிரி மற்றும் விமான எரிபொருள்கள் கலந்து உருவாக்கப்பட்ட எரிபொருள் மூலம், இந்தியாவின் முதல் இராணுவ விமானப் பயணத்தை இந்திய விமானப்படையானது, சண்டிகரில் அன் – 32 ரக போக்குவரத்து விமானத்தில் மேற்கொண்டது.

• நாட்டில் வர்த்தகம் செய்வதற்கு உகந்த நிலைக்கான கொள்கை சீர்த்திருத்தங்களையும், தளவாடங்கள் மேம்படுத்துவதில் உள்ள சவால்களை தீர்ப்பதற்காகவும், டாக்டர். “பிபேக் தேப்ராய்” தலைமையின் கீழ் தளவாடங்கள் மேம்பாட்டு குழுவை மத்திய அரசு அமைத்துள்ளது.

NATIONAL NEWS

• Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Trivendra Singh Rawatlaunched the ‘Atal Ayushman Uttarakhand Yojana’ in Dehradun. Under the scheme, each household in the state will be able to avail medical treatment of up to 5 lakh rupees
  • He also launched the mobile application and website for ‘Atal Ayushman Uttarakhand Yojana’.

 

• To end the complete encryption system to trace ‘unlawful’ activities for better national security, the Union Ministry for Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY)announced draft rules of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines) Rules 2018.
  • It will be mandatory for online platforms to deploy technology to enable access to content seen as “unlawful”.

 

• Kuno, in Madhya Pradesh, was notified as ‘national park’. This move was made after the compliance with the last condition imposed by a Supreme Court was met.
  • This would enable translocation of lions from Gir in Gujarat to Kuno.

 

• The tribal Badugacommunity in the Nilgiris district of Tamil Nadu celebrated their annual Heddaiyamman  The Badagas are an indigenous tribal group in the Nilgiris and occupy more than 400 remote hill villages in the district.

 

INTERNATIONAL NEWS

• Italy’s Mount Etna, Europe’s highest and most active volcanoerupted , sending a huge column of ash into the sky and causing the closure of Catania airport on Sicily’s eastern coast.
  • The 3,330 meterhigh volcano can burst into spectacular action several times a year, spewing lava and ash high over the Mediterranean island. The last major eruption was in 1992.

 

• Thailand approved the licensed use of marijuana and kratomfor medical use and research. It became the first country in Southeast Asia to take such action.

 

• The Japanesegovernment officially announced to withdraw from the International Whaling Commission (IWC), enabling Japan to pursue commercial whaling in its adjacent waters, including its Exclusive Economic Zone.

 

SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY

• The isolated central Asian country, Turkmenistan, where many of the social media sites including Facebook and Whatsapp are banned, launched its own and the firstTurkmen messaging app BizBarde that will allow the exchange of messages, files, photos and videos.

 

APPOINTMENTS

• Dronacharya awardeeC A Kuttappa has taken over as India’s chief boxing coach. The 39-year-old Kuttappa, credited with shaping some of the country’s most successful boxers such as Vijender Singh, M Suranjoy Singh and Shiva Thapa among others, took over from veteran coach S R Singh.

• Mithali Raj, captain of theIndian women’s cricket team and the official ambassador for Rio Tinto’s Australian Diamonds programme, was honored with the Senco Gold & Diamonds, Swarna Samman awardat a star-studded event held in Kolkata. 

 

• Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP)organized a Swachch Bharat Grand Challenge as a part of the Swachhta Pakhwada held from 1st to 15th November 2018 to reward innovative solutions by DIPP recognized Start-ups in the country.
  • The awards were given away by Secretary DIPP, Ramesh Abhishek in New Delhi.

• Former Australia captain Ricky Pontingbecame the 25th Australian cricketer to be officially inducted into the International Cricket Council’s Hall of Fame at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

• Captain Amarinder Singh, Chief Minister of Punjab, released the book ‘Prince, Patron and Patriarch Maharaja Jagatjit Singh of Kapurthala’, co-authored by the Maharaja’s grandson, Brigadier (Retd) Jagjit Singh, and Cynthia Frederickin Chandigarh.
  • The book which is published by Roli Booksis a candid tribute by a grandson to the erstwhile exceptional royal king of Kapurthala.
