• இந்திய இராணுவத்திற்காக ‘மேக் இன் இந்தியா’ திட்டத்தின் கீழ், ‘வி92எஸ்2 ((VS92S2- 1000 குதிரை திறன் உடையது) வி46-6 (V46-6- 780 குதிரை திறன் உடையது) ஆகிய பீரங்கிகளுக்கான இரண்டு வகை என்ஜின்கள் சென்னை ஆவடி என்ஜின் தொழிற்சாலையில் தயாரிக்கப்பட்டு நாட்டிற்கு அர்பணிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

 

இந்திய நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• பிஜினி மித்ரா – செயலி – இராஜஸ்தான் மாநிலத்தில் செயல்பாடற்ற மின்மாற்றிகள் குறித்து புகார் தெரிவிக்க ‘பிஜிலி மித்ரா’ என்ற கைப்பேசி செயலி இராஜஸ்தான் மாநில அரசால் அறிமுகப்படுத்தப்பட்டது.
  • புகார் தெரிவித்த ஆறு மணி நேரத்தில் செயல்பாடற்ற மின்மாற்றி மாற்றப்படும்.

 

 

 

• ஆப்பிரிக்காவின் உயர்ந்த மலை சிகரமான (5895 மீட்டர் உயரம்) கிளிமாஞ்சாரோ சிகரத்தில் ஏறி இந்திய மாணவி ‘சிவாங்கி பதக்’ சாதனைப் படைத்துள்ளார்.
  • சிவாங்கி பதக் ஏற்கெனவே, குறைந்த வயதில் எவரெஸ்ட் சிகரம் ஏறிய முதல் இந்திய இளம்பெண் என்ற சாதனையை படைத்துள்ளார்.

 

 

• பதினெட்டாம் நூற்றாண்டில் மைசூரை ஆட்சி செய்த திப்பு சுல்தான் காலத்தில் பயன்படுத்தப்பட்ட சுமார் 1000 ராக்கெட்டுகள், கர்நாடக மாநிலம் சிவமோகா மாவட்டத்தில் பிதானுரு கிராமத்தில் கண்டெடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
• குறிப்பு:
  • பிரிட்டீஷ் இராணுவத்தை எதிர்த்து துணிவுடன் போர்புரிந்த திப்பு சுல்தான், ராக்கெட் பயன்பாடு உள்ளிட்ட போர் தந்திரங்களை கையாண்ட முதல் ஆட்சியாளர் – என்ற பெருமையை பெற்றுள்ளார்.

 

 

உலக நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• இந்தியா- நேபாளம் இடையேயான சிந்தனையாளர்கள் மாநாடு (India – Nepal Think Tank Summit – 2018) நேபாளத் தலைநகர் காத்மண்டுவில் ஜுலை-31 அன்று நடைபெற உள்ளது.
  • நேபாளத்தைச் சேர்ந்த ஆசியன் இன்ஸ்டிடியூட் ஆஃப் டிப்ளோ அண்ட் இண்டர் நேஷனல் அஃபையர்ஸ் அமைப்பும் இந்தியாவின் நேரு நினைவு அருங்காட்சியகமும் இணைந்து இம்மாநாட்டை நடத்துகிறது.

 

 

• உலகளாவிய இயலாதோர் உச்சி மாநாடு
  (Global Disability Summit – 2018) பிரிட்டன் தலைநகர் லண்டனில் நடைபெற்றது.

 

 

• ஜாங்டரி புயல் – ஜப்பான் நாட்டில் ஜாங்டரி புயல் ஜுலை 29 (நேற்று) தாக்கியது.
  • இதன் தலைநகர் டோக்கியோ மற்றும் நாடு முழுவதும் பலத்த மழையுடன் சுமார் 90.கி.மீ முதல் 126.கி.மீ வேகத்தில் சூறாவளி காற்றுடன் வீசியது. இதற்கு ஜாங்டரி புயல் என பெயர் சூட்டப்பட்டுள்ளது.

 

 

விளையாட்டு நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• துருக்கியில் உள்ள இஸ்தான்புல் நகரில் நடைபெற்ற யாசர் டோகு சர்வதேச மல்யுத்த தொடரில் பெண்களுக்கான 55 கிலோ எடைப் பிரிவில் இந்திய வீராங்கனை பிங்கி, உக்ரைனின் ஒல்கா ஷனைடரை வீழ்த்தி தங்கப் பதக்கம் வென்றுள்ளார். இத்தொடரில் இந்தியா 10 பதக்கங்களை வென்று சாதனை படைத்துள்ளது.

 

 

 

• ரஷ்யாவின் விளாடிவோஸ்டாக் நகரில் நடைபெற்ற ரஷ்ய ஓபன் பாட்மிண்டன் போட்டியில் ஆடவர் ஒற்றையர் பிரிவில் இந்தியாவின் சவுரவ் வர்மா ஜப்பான் வீரர் கோகி வந்தனாபே-வை வீழ்த்தி சாம்பியன் பட்டம் வென்றுள்ளார்.

• ஜுலை 29 – சர்வதேச புலிகள் தினம்.
  • புலிகள் பாதுகாப்பு குறித்து மக்களிடம் விழிப்புணர்வை ஏற்படுத்தும் விதமாக உலகம் முழுவதும் ஜுலை 29 – புலிகள் தினமாக அனுசரிக்கப்படுகிறது. இந்தியா மற்றும் வங்கதேசத்தின் தேசிய விலங்கு புலி

 

• ஜுலை 28 – உலக இயற்கை வள பாதுகாப்பு தினம். இயற்கையை நாம் பாதுகாத்தால் இயற்கை நம்மை பாதுகாக்கும் என்கிற நோக்கில் உலகம் முழுவதும் ஆண்டு தோறும் ஜுலை – 28ம் நாள் உலக இயற்கை வள பாதுகாப்பு தினம் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது
• குறிப்பு:
  • இயற்கை வளங்களை பாதுகாப்பதற்காக பன்னாட்டு இயற்கை வள பாதுகாப்பு சங்கம் 1948ம் ஆண்டு ஏற்படுத்தப்பட்டது.

NATIONAL NEWS

• The Union Minister for Petroleum & Natural Gas and Skill Development &Entrepreneurship Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, laid the foundation stone of National Skill Training Institute (NSTI) for Women at Mohali, Punjab.
  • He also launched a first of its kind unique Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra (PMKK) for differently abled persons in Mohali.
  • He also launched India’s first  in-phone guide and mobile application “Go whats That”  in Chandigarh.

 

• The Union Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES) launched a mobile application named Mumbai Weather Live that will provide information on extreme weather events in Mumbai.

 

• The high-level panel on data protection framework headed by Justice B N Srikrishna submitted its report to the government.
  • The panel has recommended 2 changes to the Aadhaar Act. It has said that, amendments are required to ensure the autonomy of the UIDAI. The panel regarding data protection has suggested amending the Right to Information Act to restrict non-disclosure of information to cases where harm to an individual is more than the importance of transparency and accountability in the functioning of public authorities.

 

• Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Radha Mohan Singh launched the Meghalaya Milk Mission in Shillong. The mission will facilitate in achieving the Centre’s goal of doubling farmer’s income by 2022 through the promotion of milk business in the state.

 

• The Indian Railways launched ‘Mission Satyanishtha’ and a programme on Ethics in Public Governance, in a first-of-its-kind event, at a day-long function held at National Rail Museum, New Delhi. The Union Minister of Railways, Piyush Goyal administered the oath to the officers and supervisors at the programme.

 

• The two-day Unified Commanders’ Conference (UCC) for the year 2018 started at New Delhi. The Annual Conference provides a platform for discussions at the Apex Level on all ‘Joint Issues’ amongst the three Services & Ministry of Defence and enables stock-taking of the previous year and planning the way ahead for the next year.

 

ECONOMY

• Defence Ministry Nirmala Sitharaman handed over two types of indigenously built high-power multi-fuel engines to the Vice Chief of Army Staff Devaraj Anbu.
  • The first engine is of 1000 HP named V92S2 engine and it powers T-90 Bhisma Tank.
  • The second engine is V-46-6 engine and it powers the T-72 Ajeya Tank and its variants.
  • The engines were manufactured by theEngine Factory, Avadi, a unit of Ordnance Factory Board, Department of Defence Production.

• Mohun Bagan ‘Ratna’, the highest honour of Mohun Bagan club was awarded to former India international Pradip Chowdhury at its foundation day programme.

 

• Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) was awarded the INFRA Icon Award in the ‘Global Energy’ category at the mid-day INFRA Icons Awards 2018, in Mumbai

• Ace Indian shuttler Sourabh Verma lifted the Russian Open Badminton trophy at Vladivostok. In the title clash, Sourabh came back from a game behind to beat Japan’s Koki Watanabe, 18-21, 21-12, 21-17, and win his first title of the season.

 

• In Wrestling, Bajrang Punia won his second consecutive international gold while Sandeep Tomar had to be content with a silver medal at the Yasar Dogu International in Istanbul, Turkey.
  • In the women’s competition, Pinki was the lone gold medallist in the 55kg category with her 6-3 win over Ukraine’s Olga Shnaider in the final.

• International Tiger Day: 29 July
  • International Tiger Day is being celebrated every year on 29 July to raise awareness about tiger conservation. In Madhya Pradesh, State Tiger Foundation Society of Forest Department has organized wall painting competition in 6 cities to raise awareness and support for tiger conservation.
