- சர்வதேச அளவில் அறிவுசார் சொத்துரிமை நடவடிக்கைகளை சிறப்பாக முன்னெடுக்கும் நாடுகளுக்கான தரவரிசை பட்டியலை அமெரிக்க தொழில் வர்த்தக சபை வெளியிட்டது. இதில் இந்தியா 44வது இடத்தில் உள்ளது
- 2018ம் ஆண்டு சிறந்த பல்கலைக்கழகங்கள் தரவரிசையில் அசாமை சேர்ந்த தேஜ்பூர் மத்திய பல்கலைக்கழகம் 100வது இடத்தில் உள்ளது. இந்தியாவில் சிறந்த பல்கலைக்கழகங்களுக்கான தரவரிசையில் தேஜ்பூர் மத்திய பல்கலைக்கழகம் 7வது இடத்தில் உள்ளது

National News
- Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharamanhas constituted a 13-member advisory committee to monitor and expedite capital acquisition projects for the modernisation of the armed forces. The committee will be headed by Vinay Sheel Oberoi, former secretary in the government.
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address rallies at Sonamura in Sipahijala district and Kailasahar in Unakoti district. Assam Chief Minister and BJP leader Sarbanand Sonowal addressed public meetings in Teliamura and Majlishpur
- Union Cabinet approved implementation of Prime Minister’s Research Fellows (PMRF) schemeat a total cost of 1,650 crore rupees for a period of seven years beginning 2018-19. The scheme was announced in the Union Budget for 2018-19.Under this scheme, the best students who have completed or are in the final year of B. Tech or Integrated M.Tech or M.Sc. in Science and Technology streams from IISc or IITs or NITs or IISERs or IIITs will be offered direct admission in the Ph.D. programme in the IITs or IISc.
- The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) approved to enhance target base of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) from 5 crore to 8 crores. The revised target of PMUY will be achieved by 2020 with an additional allocation of 4,800 crore. The decision comes in the wake of the huge response to PMUY from the women particularly in rural areas and to cover such households not having LPG connection.
- The Memorandum of understanding between India and Tunisia for co operation on youth matters. Activities under this MoU would include organization of youth exchange programmes invitation to international conference, seminars, youth festivals, and workshops.
- The Memorandum of Co-operation will be signed between Federal Law Enforcement Training Centres, USA and Bureau of police Research and Development. It envisages co operation between two countries in security related matters under the aegis of the India-US Homeland Security Diaglogue.
- The Memorandum of Understanding will be signed between the Department of Economic Affairs and the Treasury, Government of
- MoU with United Kingdom and Northern Ireland on Co operation in Skill Development training institutes will be created.
Sports
- The first Khelo India School Games concluded in New Delhiwith sports powerhouse Haryana topped the overall medal tally. The state won 102 medals which include 38 gold and 26 silver.
- Maharashtrawith 110 medals (36 of them gold) finished second while Delhi with 94 medals came third. Sports Minister, Col Rajyavardhan Rathore presented the top State Haryana with the glittering trophy.

- SBI Card,the country’s second-largest credit card issuer, has appointed Hardayal Prasad as new Managing Director (MD) & Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company. He has replaced Vijay Jasuja.

- IndusInd Banklaunched its new Sonic Identity, which is essentially a musical logo called ‘MOGO’, as part of its branding initiatives. The objective for associating to a sonic identity is building the Bank’s brand imagery with the strategic use of music and sound for brand experiences and audience connection.
International news
- Bermuda has become the first country in the world to abolish same sex marriage.
Awards and Recognition
- To set a record in the Guinness book for ice hockey on the world’s highest altitude, an international level tournament was organized at Chiba Kargyam in Ladakh region of Jammu and Kashmir. Five international teams from USA, Germany, Canada, Slovakia and Russia and a local team participated in the tournament.
