தமிழகத்தின் ஸ்ரீவில்லிபுத்தூர் – மேகமலை உள்ளடக்கிய வனப்பகுதிகளை, புலிகள் சரணாலயமாக அறிவிக்க, தேசிய புலிகள் பாதுகாப்பு ஆணையம் முடிவு செய்துள்ளது.
தமிழ்நாட்டில், 2006ம் ஆண்டில், 76 ஆக இருந்த புலிகளின் எண்ணிக்கை 2014-ஆம் ஆண்டில் 229 ஆக உயர்ந்துள்ளது.

தமிழகத்தில் 15 வனவிலங்குகள் சரணாலாயமும், 15 பறவைகள் சரணாலயமும் 5 தேசிய பூங்காக்களும், 3 நில உயிர்கோள காப்பகங்கள் (Bio – Sphere) மற்றும் 30.92 சதவீத பாதுகாக்கப்பட்ட வனப்பகுதி ஆகியவை உள்ளன.
தமிழக அரசின் சார்பில், சென்னையில் உள்ள மாதவரத்தில் மீன் ஊட்டச்சத்து மற்றும் உணவு தொழில்நுட்பக் கல்லூரி ஜூலை 24 அன்று தொடங்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
இக்கல்லூரியானது, நாகப்பட்டினத்தில் உள்ள ஜெ.ஜெயலலிதா மீன்வளப் பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் கீழ் செயல்படும்.

பொது மற்றும் தனியார் துறைகளில் சிறந்த சுற்றுச்சூழல் செயல்பாடுகளை அங்கீகரிக்கும் பூமி விருது – 2018 ஆனது கொச்சி சர்வதேச விமான நிலையத்திற்கு வழங்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. (CIAL – The Cochin International Airport Limited)
உலகின் முதல் விமான நிலையமாக முழுமையாக சூரியசக்தி மூலம் இயக்கப்பட்டதற்கு இவ்விருதானது வழங்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
ஹரியானாவின் மாநில வளர்ச்சி குறித்து அடையாளம் காண, ஹரியானா முதலமைச்சர் மனோகர் லால் கத்தாரின் தலைமையின் கீழ் மாவட்ட வாரியாக குழு inter – district council அமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

கர்நாடகாவில் 4 வயதே ஆன சான்வி அகர்வால் என்ற சிறுமி, 5 வயதுக்குட்பட்டோருக்கான தேசிய அளவிலான சதுரங்க சாம்பியன் ஷிப் போட்டியில் 2-ஆம் இடம் பெற்றுள்ளார்.
இதன் மூலம் அடுத்த ஆண்டு 6 வயதுக்குட்பட்டோருக்கான ஆசிய இளையோர் சாம்பியன் போட்டியில் பங்கேற்க தகுதி பெற்றுள்ளார்.
மகளிர் வில்வித்தை போட்டிக்கான உலக தரவரிசைப் பட்டியலில் இந்திய மகளிர் வில்வித்தை (காம்பவுண்டு) அணி முதலிடத்தைப் பிடித்து சாதனைப் படைத்துள்ளது.
அண்மையில் அன்டாலியா, பெர்லினில் நடைபெற்ற உலகக் கோப்பை வில்வித்தைப் போட்டியில் இந்திய மகளிர் வில்வித்தை அணி இரண்டு வெள்ளிப்பதக்கங்களை வென்றது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.
அறிவியல் மற்றும் தொழில்நுட்பம்
விஸ்டர் – 500 – என்னும் முழுவதும் உள்நாட்டிலேயே உருவாக்கப்பட்ட முதல் காற்று சுத்திகரிப்பான் கருவி சென்னை ஐஐடியில் (IIT – Chennai) வடிவமைக்கப்பட்டு அறிமுகம் செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது.

Government of India has approved a new scheme to empower rural women through community participation. It is called ‘Mahila Shakti Kendra’for 2017-18 upto 2019-20.
The cost sharing ratio of the scheme is 60:40 between centre and states except North Eastern states.
North East and Special Category Stateshave the ratio of 90:10.
Indian Railways organized a programme on Ethics in Public Governance and Launched “Mission Satyanishtha” at National Rail Museum, New Delhi.
The objective is to bring transperancy and ethics in the work culture and among all railway employees.
The Gujarat government launched the ‘Urban Sanitation and Cleanliness Policy’ for better management of solid and liquid waste in cities.
The policy was launched by Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani. The policy focuses on streamlining the collection and disposal of all types of waste in cities and towns.

The ministry of health of Sierra Leone, has confirmed that a new strain of Ebola virus named Bombali Virus (BOMV) has been discovered in bats in the Bombali district of Sierra Leone.
It’s not yet known whether the new strain can develop into Ebola disease, if it is transmitted to humans.
Invest India and the UAE Minister for Artificial Intelligence (AI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for India – UAE Artificial Intelligence Bridge in New Delhi.

Mohammed Ayazuddin Patel has received the Senior Fellowship Award for 2016-17 instituted by the Centre for Cultural Resources and Training Centre.
Assamese film “Xhoihobote Dhemalite” (“Rainbow Fields”) won 3 top awards at the 3rd Love International Film Festival in United States.
Xhoihobote Dhemalite won awards for: the best film, best actress (Dipannita Sharma) and best music (Anurag Saikia).
The film was directed by Bidyut Kotoky. Bidyut Kotoky received the award for the movie under best film category.

28th July 2018, World Hepatitis Day 2018 was observed all over the world. World Hepatitis Day, aims to enhance the national and international efforts on prevention and treatment of hepatitis.
28 July is observed as World Hepatitis Day every year. This day was chosen as it is the birthday of scientist Dr. Baruch Blumberg, who discovered hepatitis B virus (HBV).
