• தமிழகத்தில் உள்ள அனைத்து மருத்துவ கல்லூரிகளிலும் ஜுலை 23 முதல் பிளாஸ்டிக் தடை அமலுக்கு வந்துள்ளது.

 

 

• கன்னியாகுமரி மாவட்டம் நாகர்கோவில் டெம்பல் ஜுவல்லரி எனப்படும் கோவில் ஆபரணத்திற்கு புவிசார் குறியீடு கிடைத்துள்ளது.

 

 

• தமிழகத்தில் முதன் முறையாக பாதாள கழிவுகளை சுத்தம் செய்ய தானியங்கி இயந்திரம்(ரோபோ) பயன்படுத்தும் முதல் நகராட்சி என்னும் பெருமையை கும்பகோணம் நகராட்சி பெற்றுள்ளது.

• Public Affairs Centre எனப்படும் பொது விவகாரங்கள் மையம் வெளியிட்டுள்ள சிறந்த நிர்வாகங்களை மேற்கொள்ளும் மாநிலங்களின் பட்டியலில் தொடர்ந்து 3வது வருடமாக கேரளா முதலிடம் பிடித்துள்ளது.
  • தமிழகம் 2வது இடம் பிடித்துள்ளது, பீகார் மாநிலம் இந்த பட்டியலில் கடைசி இடத்தில் உள்ளது.

• இந்தியா தொடங்கவுள்ள, சர்வதேச சூரியசக்தி கூட்டமைப்பில் ((ISA – International Solar Alliance) 68வது நாடாக மியான்மர் இணைந்துள்ளது. (Myanmar joins International Solar Alliance becomes 68th Member of Grouping)
• சர்வதேச சூரியக் கூட்டமைப்பு(2015)
  • பிரான்ஸ் தலைநகர் பாரீஸில் 2015ம் ஆண்டு,ஐ.நா பருவநிலை மாற்ற மாநாட்டின் இடையே, பிரதமர் நரேந்திர மோடியும் பிரான்ஸ் அதிபர் பிராங்சுவா ஹொலாலந்தம்சர்வதேச சூரியக் கூட்டமைப்பை தொடங்கி வைத்தனர்.

 

 

• விமானத்தில் வந்திறங்கும் பயணிகளின் சேவைகள் அடிப்படையில் பன்னாட்டு விமான நிலையங்கள் குழு, தரவரிசைப் பட்டியலை வெளியிட்டுள்ளது.
  • இதில் பெங்களுர் விமான நிலையம் முதலிடத்தைப் பிடித்துள்ளது.

• கின்ஷான் ஏவுகணை – சுமார் 3000 கி.மீ தூரம் பாய்ந்து துல்லியமாக இலக்கைத் தாக்கும் திறன் கொண்ட கின்ஷான் ஏவுகணையை ரஷ்ய நாடானது வெற்றிகரமாக பரிசோதித்துள்ளது.

• இந்தோனேஷியாவின் ஜகந்தா நகரில் நடைபெற்ற 19 வயது உட்பட்டோருக்கான ஆசிய ஜுனியர் பேட்மிண்டன் சாம்பியன்ஷிப் போட்டியில் இந்திய வீரர் லக்ஷயா சென் ஜுனியர் உலக சாம்பியனான குன்லாட் விடிட்ஸ்ரனுவை (தாய்லாந்து) வென்று தங்கப் பதக்கத்தை வென்றுள்ளார்.

• 28வது ஜி.எஸ்.டி (GST) கவுன்சில் கூட்டம் நிதியமைச்சர் பியூஸ் கோயல் தலைமையில் டெல்லியில் நடைபெற்றது.
  • இக்கூட்டத்தில், சானட்டரி நாப்கின், மார்பிள், கல் மற்றும் மரச் சிலைகள், செறிவூட்டிய பால் போன்றவற்றிற்கு வரிவிலக்கு அளிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
  • 28 சதவீதம் வரி விதிப்பு பொருட்களின் எண்ணிக்கை 35-ஆக குறைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

NATIONAL NEWS

• Minister for Science and Technology Harsh Vardhan has unveiled the first of a kind Air Quality and Weather Forecast System, SAFAR at Chandni Chowk in New Delhi. The giant true colour LED display will give real-time air quality index on 24×7 basis with colour coding along with 72-hour advance forecast.

 

• According to the Public Affairs Index 2018, Kerala is the best-governed state in the country, released by a Bengaluru think-tank, Public Affairs Centre.
  • As per the report, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Karnataka and Gujarat are among the top five states delivering good governance.
  • Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Odisha ranked the lowest on the index, indicating higher social and economic inequalities.
  • Among smaller states – with the population less than two crore – Himachal Pradesh topped the list of states with good governance, followed by Goa, Mizoram, Sikkim and Tripura.

 

• Union Environment Minister Harsh Vardhan unveiled a state-of-the-art Air Quality and Weather Forecast System– ‘SAFAR’ (System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting) at Chandni Chowk in New Delhi. The Environment Ministry’s mission model project ‘SAFAR’ is being implemented in four cities of India – Delhi, Pune, Mumbai and Ahmedabad as an operational service.

 

• The 28th meeting of GST Council was held in New Delhi. It reduced tax rates on more than 50 items and exempted sanitary napkins, rakhis, stone, marble, wooden deities and Saal leaves from GST. Finance Minister Piyush Goyal chaired the 28th GST Council meeting in New Delhi.

 

• The Environment Ministry re-introduced the ‘Medini Puraskar Yojna’– a scheme that awards Indian authors for their original work in Hindi on environment, pollution and climate change subjects.
• Objective:
  • It aims to encourage Hindi authors to write on environmental topics.

 

• Odisha will be the host to the Odisha Triennial of International Art (OTIA), India’s first private sector triennial, in December-January which will be a 40 day event.

 

• The first international festival of Mizoram ‘Mizo Hnahthlak’ was organized Dengthuama Hall in Aizawl, Mizoram.
  • It saw huge participation from the Mizo tribal community living in different places and region.

INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS

• According to report of Walk Free Foundation, the Global Slavery Index estimates that 3 million people worldwide were subjected to modern slavery in 2016.

ECONOMY

• A new Cruise Terminal capable of handling 5000 tourists will be set up at Ernakulum Wharf of Cochin Port by February 2020. On 20th July 2018, Cochin Port Trust issued work order to the contractor for starting the construction of the new Cruise Terminal.

SPORTS

• India’s Muhammad Anas Yahiya broke his own national record to win the 400 metres race at the Cena Noveho Mesta nad Metuji meet in Czech Republic.
  • The earlier national record of 31 seconds was made by the sprinter during the 2018 Commonwealth Games at Gold Coast, Queensland.

 

• Indian badminton player Lakshaya Sen bagged the gold medal after defeating Indonesia’s top-seeded Kunlavut Vitidsaran in the final match of the Badminton Asia Junior Championship in Jakarta, Indonesia.
