இந்தியா மற்றும் ரஷ்யா ஆகிய நாடுகளின் கூட்டு முயற்சியில் உருவாக்கப்பட்ட ஒலியை விட இருமடங்கு வேகத்தில் பயணித்து 290 கி.மீ தொலைவில் உள்ள இலக்கைத் தாக்கி அழிக்கும் திறன் கொண்ட ‘பிரமோஸ் சூப்பர்சோனிக்’ ஏவுகணை ஒடிசா மாநிலம், பலாசோரில் ஜுலை 16 அன்று வெற்றிகரமாக பரிசோதிக்கப்பட்டது.
கோவா மாநிலத்தில் வரும் ஆகஸ்ட் – 15ம் தேதி முதல் பொது இடங்களில் மது அருந்தினால் அபராதமாக ரூபாய் 2500 விதிக்கப்படும் என அம்மாநில அரசு அறிவித்துள்ளது.

பயங்கரவாதத்தை எதிர் கொள்வதற்காக ஷாங்காய் ஒத்துழைப்பு அமைப்பின்(SCO) பயங்கவாத ஒழிப்பு போர் பயிற்சி ரஷ்யாவில் ஆகஸ்ட் – மாதம் நடைபெற உள்ளது.
இதில் SCO அமைப்பை சேர்ந்த நாடுகள் பங்கேற்கின்றன. இந்தியா சுதந்தரம் அடைந்தப் பிறகு இந்தியா மற்றும் பாகிஸ்தான் நாடுகளைச் சேர்ந்த பாதுகாப்படை இணைந்து போர் பயிற்சியில் ஈடுபடுவது இதுவே முதல் முறையாகும்.
குறிப்பு
ஷாங்காய் ஒத்துழைப்பு அமைப்பின் 2018-க்கான மாநாடு சீனாவில் நடைபெற்றது.
2017ம் ஆண்டு SCO மாநாடு கஜகஸ்தானில் நடைபெற்றது. இந்த மாநாட்டில் இந்தியா, பாகிஸ்தான் உறுப்பினராக இணைந்தது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.
காற்று மழை மற்றும் சோலார் தகடுகளின் மின் ஆற்றலை உருவாக்கும் ஹார்வெஸ்ட் என்னும் கருவியை அமெரிக்காவைச் சேர்ந்த மானசா மெண்டு என்பவர் உருவாக்கியுள்ளார்.
இது இந்தியா போன்ற வளரும் நாடுகளுக்கு பயனளிக்கும் வகையில் வடிவமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
உலகளவில் பெரிதும் எதிர்பார்க்கப்பட்ட அமெரிக்க அதிபர் டிரம்ப் – ரஷ்ய அதிபர் விளாடிமிர் புதின் இடையேயான சந்திப்பு பின்லாந்த் நாட்டின் தலைநகர் ஹெல்சின்கி (Helsinki) நகரில் ஜுலை 17 அன்று நடைபெற்றது.

பிரான்சில் நடைபெற்ற சர்வதேச சோட்டிவைல் (International Sotteville) தடகள போட்டிகளின் ஈட்டி எறிதல் பிரிவில் இந்தியாவின் ‘நீரஜ் சோப்ரா’(Neeraj Chopra) தங்கம் வென்றுள்ளார்.
உலகளவில் ஆடவருக்கான ஹாக்கி தரவரிசைப் பட்டியலில் இந்திய ஆண்கள் ஹாக்கி அணி ஐந்தாவது இடத்தைப் பெற்றுள்ளது.

லோக்கல் எலெக்ட்ரோட் ஆட்டம் ப்ரோப் (Local Electrode Atom probe-LEAP) என அழைக்கப்படும், உலகின் முதல் ரிமோட் மூலம் இயங்கக்கூடிய பகுப்பாய்வு நுண்நோக்கி(லீப் மைக்ரோஸ் கோப்) சாதனத்தை இந்திய தொழில்நுட்ப கழகம் – சென்னை (IIT-Madras) சார்பில் அறிமுகப்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது
இந்த புதிய வகை மைக்ரோஸ்கோப் கொண்டு அணுக்களை துல்லியமாக பார்க்க முடியும்.

On 16th July 2018, Union Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Minister Dharmendra Pradhan laid the foundation stone for National Skill Training Institute (NSTI) at Barang, in Bhubaneswar, to be established at a cost of Rs 160 crore
NSTI will function under the Directorate General of Training (DGT). It will have training activities like Trainers Training (Long term/Short term), Refresher Training and Re-skilling/Up skilling courses.
The ‘BIMARU’ Indian states – Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh – have the highest numbers of partially immunized and non-immunized children, according to UN bodies WHO and Unicef.

IIT Madras has launched “world’s first” remotely operatable microscope that would enable a precise atom-by-atom view of a material in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
The Local Electrode Atom Probe (LEAP) was developed in a collaborative exercise involving eight top research institutions headed by IIT Madras. It was developed at a cost of Rs 40 crore.
The government has decided to set up a committee under the Chairmanship of Mr Anil Swarup, former Secretary, School Education, with suitable representations from NCC, M/o Youth Affairs and Ministry of HRD to suggest measures to strengthen National Cadet Corps (NCC) and National Service Scheme (NSS).
