தமிழக நிகழ்வுகள்

• இலங்ககைக்கு ஏற்றுமதி செய்யும் வகையில் மும்முனை டீசல் மின்தொடர் ரயில் பெட்டிகள், மற்றும் 1600 குதிரை திறன் கொண்ட அதிநவீன வசதிகள் மிக்க “டிரெயின்-18” என்ற பெயரிலான இரயில் பெட்டிகள் சென்னையில் உள்ள ஒருங்கிணைந்த ரயில் பெட்டி தயாரிப்பு தொழிற்சாலையில் (ஐ.சி.எஃப்) தயாரிக்கப்பட உள்ளது.
  • நாட்டிலேயே முதன்முறையாக “டிரெயின்-18” வகை இரயில் பெட்டிகளை சென்னை ICF தயாரிக்க உள்ளது.

 

 

• பேரிடர் காலங்களில் மக்களுக்கு தகவல்களை பரிமாற்றம் செய்வதற்கு ஏதுவாக தமிழக மின்னாளுமை முகமையின் மூலமாக www.tnsdma.tn.gov.in  என்ற புதிய இணையதளம் தமிழ் மற்றும் ஆங்கிலத்தில் உருவாக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
  • இந்த வலைதளத்தில் தமிழ்நாட்டின் புவியியல் அமைப்பு, வானிலை அறிக்கைகள் உட்பட பேரிடர்களை எதிர் கொள்ள எடுக்க வேண்டிய முன்னெச்சரிக்கை நடவடிக்கைகள் மற்றும் பேரிடர் மேலாண்மை ஆணையங்களின் தொடர்பு எண்கள் போன்றவை அடங்கியுள்ளது.

 

 

இந்திய நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• “பிட்ச் டூ மூவ்” (Pitch to move) – இயக்கம் – இந்தியாவில் வளர்ந்து வரும் தொழல் முனைவோர் தங்கள் வர்த்தக வளர்ச்சி குறித்த கருத்துக்களை ஒரு சிறப்பான நீதிபதியிடம் வழங்க ஒரு தனித்துவமான வாய்ப்பை வழங்கும் நோக்கத்தை கொண்ட இந்த இயக்கமானது நிதி ஆயோக்கினால் தொடங்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
  • இதன் மூலம் தொழில் முனைவோர்களின் நிலையை அரசின் பார்வைக்கு எடுத்துச் செல்ல இயலும்.

 

 

• இந்தியாவின் 72வது சுதந்திர தினத்தின் நினைவாக, நேபாளத் தலைநகர் காத்மண்டுவில் உள்ள இந்தியத் தூதரகத்தின் மூலமாக இந்தியா சார்பில் 30 ஆம்புலன்ஸ்களை நேபாளத்தில் உள்ள மருத்துவமனைகளுக்கு வழங்கியுள்ளது.

• மேற்கு ஆப்பிரிக்காவில் உள்ள மாலியில் நடைபெற்ற அதிபர் தேர்தலில் இப்ராஹிம் பூபக்கர் கெய்டர் மீண்டும் வெற்றி பெற்று மாலியின் அதிபராகிறார்.

 

 

• உலகத்தை மாற்றியமைத்த 100 பெண்களின் பட்டியலை பிபிசி ஹிஸ்டரி பத்திரிக்கையானது (BBC History Magazine) தொகுத்து வெளியிட்டுள்ளது.
  • இப்பட்டியலில் இருமுறை நோபல் பரிசு பெற்ற “மேரி க்யூரி” முதலிடத்தைப் பெற்றுள்ளார்
  • இந்தியாவில் வாழ்ந்த அன்னை தெரசா 20-வது இடத்தைப் பெற்றிருக்கிறார்.

  • மேரி கியூரி – 1903ம் ஆண்டு பொலானியம் கண்டுபிடிப்புக்கான (வேதியலுக்கான) நோபல் பரிசு.

• இந்தோனேஷியாவில் நடைபெற்ற ITF Futures  ஆடவருக்கான டென்னிஸ் போட்டியின் இறுதி ஆட்டத்தில் ஆஸ்திரேலியா வீரர் மைக்கேலினை தோற்கடித்து இந்தியாவின் நிக்கி பூனச்சா சாம்பியன் பட்டம் பெற்றுள்ளார்.

 

 

• உலக ஜீனியர் சைக்கிளிங் சாம்பியன் ஷிப் போட்டிகளில் வெள்ளிப்பதக்கம் வெல்லும் முதல் இந்தியர் என்ற பெருமையை ““Esow Alben” ” பெற்றுள்ளார்.
  • இப்போட்டிகள் சுவிட்சர்லாந்து நாட்டில் நடைபெற்றது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

• இந்திய அரசின் சாலை பாதுகாப்பு பிரச்சாரத்தின் விளம்பரத் தூதராக பாலிவுட் நடிகர் அக்ஷய் குமார் நியமிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார். (Brand Ambassador for Road Safety Compaigns)
  • இவர் புது டெல்லியில், சாலை பாதுகாப்பு விழிப்புணர்வு தொடர்பான வீடியோ பிரசாரத்தை தொடங்கியுள்ளார்.

NATIONAL NEWS

• Ministry of Railways launches “Digital Screens” to spread awareness about Indian Railways Heritage.  From the Independence Day on (August 15, 2018), “digital screens” has been made operational at 22 railway stations.
  • This screens will how one to two minute-long movie clips on digital LED screens at the entrance gate of railway stations and also at different comfort areas. 

 

• West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee lifted family income ceiling for the beneficiaries of women welfare scheme ‘Kanyashree’.  Earlier the ceiling was : Rs 120,000 or less.
  • Kanyashree was launched in 2013 to prevent early marriage of girl children of socio-economically disadvantaged families whose annual income is Rs 120,000 or less.

 

• Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan launched Dial 100 Mobile app, to help the needy at the time of emergency.  Once Madhya Pradesh Police receive a call through Dial 100 mobile app, they will reach the location as soon as possible, to help the people in distress.

 

• ISRO Chairman has announced that an Indian astronaut will be sent into space by 2022 on board Gaganyaan.  K Sivan has reciprocated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Independence Day announcement.
  • Prior to the actual launch by 2022, the ISRO will have two unmanned missions and spacecraft will be launched using GSLV Mark-III. GSLV Mark III launch vehicle will be fully equipped with crew module and life support system for manned mission in the next two years.

 

INTERNATIONAL NEWS

 

• Indian Government released additional NPR 470 million for the Postal Highway being constructed in Southern Plains of Nepal. Indian Ambassador to Nepal Manjeev Singh Puri handed over NPR 470 million to the Secretary of Nepal’s Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Madhusudan Adhikari.

 

• Qatar King Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has pledged to make direct investment in Turkey and announced a 15-billion US dollar investment into the country’s financial markets and banks. The announcement came after holding talks with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara.

 

• The 24th World Congress of Philosophy (WCP) was held in Beijing, China for the first time.  This event has been organized by the International Federation of Philosophical Societies, and Peking University. The theme for this event is: “Learning To Be Human”.

 

ECONOMY

• PhonePe announced partnership with IRCTC app ‘IRCTC Rail Connect’, to facilitate convenient, fast and secure payments. This will enable PhonePe’s 100 million plus users to now pay directly from their bank accounts using UPI, credit and debit cards and also the PhonePe wallet.

 

AWARDS

• James P. Allison, Carl June and Steven A. Rosenberg, have been conferred the 2018 Albany Medical Center Prize in Medicine and Biomedical Research.
  • James P. Allison is from the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.  Carl June is from the University at Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine in Philadelphia.

 

• Smitha Crishna has topped the India’s wealthiest women list for 2018, prepared by Kotak Wealth-Hurun Report.

 

APPOINTMENTS

 

• Ibrahim Boubacar Keita was re-elected as president of Mali. Ibrahim Boubacar Keita won 67 percent of the vote and defeated his opponent Soumaila Cisse in the presidential election.

 

• 46-year-old Mario Abdo Benítez has been sworn in as the new President of Paraguay. He replaced Horacio Cartes.

 

SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY

 

• The multi-purpose Barak 8 missile defence system, jointly developed by India and Israel, will be procured by the Israeli Navy.
  • Barak 8 has been developed by Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), India’s DRDO, Israel’s Administration for the Development of Weapons and Technological Infrastructure, Elta Systems, Rafael and few other Indian defence companies.
