• நகர்புற கழிவுநீர் ஓடைகளை சுகாதாரமான மறுபயன்பாட்டிற்காக உள்ளுரிலேயே சுத்திகரிக்கும் LOTUSHR என்ற புதிய திட்டத்தினை (LOTUSHR – Local Treatment Of Urban Sewage Streams for Healthy Reuse), புதுடெல்லியின் சன்டயல் பூங்காவில் மத்திய அறிவியல் மற்றும் தொழில்நுட்பத்துறை அமைச்சர் துவக்கி வைத்தார்.
  • இத்திட்டமானது, இந்திய மற்றும் டச்சு விஞ்ஞானிகளின் கூட்டு முயற்சி ஆகும்.

 

 

• நாட்டிலேயே முதன் முறையாக, உத்திரப்பிரதேச காவல்துறையானது, தொலைபேசி அழைப்பு வாயிலாக முதல் தகவல் அறிக்கை (FIR – First Information Report) பதிவு செய்யும் முறையை அறிமுகப்படுத்தப்பட உள்ளது.
  • இதன் மூலம் வழக்கமான குற்றங்களை உத்திரப்பிரதேச காவல்துறை தொலைபேசி எண்ணான 100 என்ற எண்ணுக்கு அழைத்து தொலைபேசி அழைப்பு வடிவத்திலான முதல் தகவல் அறிக்கையை (FIR) பதிவு செய்ய முடியும்.

 

 

• குறிப்பு

• குற்றங்களை தடுப்பதற்காக பஞ்சாப் மாநிலத்திற்கு பிறகு, சுமார் 1 லட்சம் சிறிய மற்றும் பெரிய குற்றவாளிகளின் தகவல் அடங்கிய நேரடி இணையதள தொகுப்பு ஒன்றை தயாரித்துள்ளது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

 

• அணுசக்தி, விஞ்ஞானம் மற்றும் தொழில்நுட்பம் தொடர்பான பாதுகாப்பு ஒத்துழைப்பில் IAEA-ன் (International Atomic Energy Agency) வேலைகளை வலுப்படுத்தும் வகையில், 62-வது IAEA-வின் பொது மாநாடு ஆஸ்திரியாவின் வியன்னாவில் நடைபெற்றுள்ளது.

 

 

• இம்மாநாட்டில், இந்தியா, சர்வதேச அணுசக்தி முகமையின் (IAEA) பாதுகாப்பு விதிகளின் கீழ் மேலும் நான்கு அணுஉலைக் கூடங்களை கொண்டு வர முடிவெடுத்திருக்கின்றது.

• குறிப்பு:

• இதன் மூலம் தற்போது IAEA-வின் பாதுகாப்பு விதிகளின் கீழ் மொத்தம் 26 இந்திய அணுஉலைக் கூடங்கள் கொண்டு வரப்பட்டுள்ளன.

 

• தேசிய சுகாதார பாதுகாப்புத் திட்டமான ஆயுஷ்மான் பாரத்(AB – NHPM : Ayushman Bharat – National Health Protection Agency)–ஐ செயல்படுத்தும் தேசிய சுகாதார நிறுவனமானது(NHA – National Health Agency) பயனாளர்கள் தங்கள் பதிவுகளை சோதித்துக் கொள்ள mera.prnjay.gov.in என்னும் வலைதளத்தையும், 14555 என்ற உதவி எண்ணையும் தொடங்கியுள்ளது.

 

 

உலக நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• ஐ.நா. பொதுச்சபையின் 73-வது கூட்டம், 2018 ஆம் ஆண்டு செப்டம்பர் 25 முதல் அக்டோபர் 1 ஆம் தேதி வரை, அமெரிக்காவின் நியூயார்க் நகரில் உள்ள ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் சபையின் தலைமையகத்தில் நடைபெற உள்ளது.
  • இந்த பொதுக்கூட்டத்தில் உலகநாடுகளின் தலைவர்கள் பங்கேற்று, நடப்பு ஆண்டில் உள்ள முக்கிய விவகாரங்கள் குறித்து பொதுவிவாதம் நடத்துவார்கள். இந்நிலையில், இந்தியாவின் சார்பாக இக்கூட்டத்தில் வெளியுறவுத் துறை அமைச்சர் “சுஷ்மா சுவராஜ்” பங்கேற்க உள்ளார்.

 

 

• நைஜரின் தலைநகரான நியாமேயில் (Niamey) இந்திய அரசாங்கத்தின் மானிய உதவியுடன் மகாத்மா காந்தி சர்வதேச மாநாட்டு மையத்தை (MGICC – Mahatma Gandhi International Convention Center) செயல்படுத்த இந்தியா மற்றும் நைஜர் நாடுகளுக்கு இடையே புரிந்துணர்வு ஒப்பந்தம் கையெழுத்தாகி உள்ளது.

 

 

விளையாட்டு நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• 2022-ஆம் ஆண்டில் ஆசிய பாரா விளையாட்டு போட்டிகளின் நான்காவது பதிப்பை சீனாவின் ஹான்ங்ஷோ-வில் நடத்த இருப்பதாக ஆசியன் பாரா ஒலிம்பிக் குழு அறிவித்துள்ளது.
  • மூன்றாவது ஆசிய பாரா விளையாட்டு போட்டி 2018 ஆனது இந்தோனேசியாவின் ஜகர்த்தாவில் நடைபெற உள்ளது.

 

 

• FIFA சர்வதேச கால்பந்து அணிகளுக்கான தரவரிசை வரலாற்றில் முதல் முறையாக, பிரான்சு மற்றும் பெல்ஜியம் ஆகிய இரு அணிகள் முதலிடத்தைப் பகிர்ந்துள்ளன.

 

 

நியமனங்கள்

 

• இந்தியாவின் அண்டை நாடான நேபாளம், வரும் 2020-ம் ஆண்டை “நேபாளத்தை காண வாருங்கள்” என்னும் தலைப்புடன் சுற்றுலா ஆண்டாக அனுசரிக்க தீர்மானித்துள்ளது.

 

 

• மேலும், இந்தியாவில் இருந்து அதிகமான சுற்றுலாப் பயணிகளை ஈர்க்க, நேபாள அரசு அந்நாட்டின் சுற்றுலா மற்றும் கலாச்சாரம் துறையின் நல்லெண்ண தூதராக நடிகை “ஜெயப்பிரதாவை” நியமித்துள்ளது.

NATIONAL NEWS

• To mark the end of “Naropa Festival” total of 299 women dressed up in traditional Ladakhi wedding attire danced together making it to the Guinness World Records and declared the dance performance as the “Largest Ladakhi Dance”. Celebrated every 12th year of the Tibetan calendar, the Naropa festival, also known as the ‘Kumbh Mela of the Himalayas’

 

• The Jharkhand government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with National Insurance Company Ltd to provide medical facilities to the people of the state under the Centre’s flagship health scheme – Ayushman Bharat Yojana.

 

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated a new airport at Jharsuguda, which will attract investors to the mineral-rich area. The Jharsuguda Airport has been developed by the Airports Authority of India in collaboration with Odisha government at an estimated cost of Rs 210 crore, with Rs 75 crore contribution from the state. The airport has been developed under the Centre’s UDAN scheme.

• Union Minister of State for Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Giriraj Singh, launched MSME Insider – a monthly e-newsletter of the Ministry.
  • Speaking on the occasion, Giriraj Singh said that the e-newsletter will give information of the activities undertaken by the Ministry and also act as a bridge between the Ministry and the millions of MSME units spread across the country.

 

• Mousumi Khatua became the first woman from Kalyani City, West Bengal to climb Asia’s highest volcanic peak Mount Damavand. Mousumi along with ace mountaineer, Satyarup Siddhanta, and Bhaswati Chatterjee began the expedition to Mt. Damavand, the highest peak in Iran and a potentially active volcano.

 

• A Former minister in the Narendra Modi government, Kalraj Mishra, replaced former Uttarakhand chief minister Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri as the chairman of the parliamentary Standing Committee on Defence.
  • Parliamentary Standing Committees were introduced in 1993 to ensure legislative oversight over the executive functioning of each ministry.

INTERNATIONAL NEWS

• India and Nepal have agreed to explore the possibility of using high-resolution satellite images in boundary survey work. This decision was taken during the 5th meeting of Nepal-India Boundary Working Group (BWG) held in Kathmandu from 19th to 21st September 2018.
  • India and Nepal also agreed to continue mapping of No man’s land encroachment and cross-border occupation.

 

• The Vice President of India, M. Venkaiah Naidu was on an official Visit to Serbia, Malta and Romania and returned after a successful official visit. The visit was characterised by extremely cordial discussions with Heads of Governments, PMs and other senior political leaders.
  • In all the three countries, there was considerable interest in Yoga and Ayurveda and in Romania, the Vice President launched two books on Ayurveda and inaugurated an Ayurveda Information Centre.

 

• India and Romania have agreed to intensify cooperation at the United Nations and other multilateral fora in order to address global challenges. It was issued in a statement after one to one talks between Vice President Venkaiah Naidu and President of Romania, Mr. Klaus Werner Lohannis in Bucharest.
  • Romania was appreciated for its support to India’s bid for permanent membership of United Nations Security Council.

ECONOMY

• The World Bank has endorsed an ambitious five-year framework for India under which it is expected to receive $25-30 billion in financial support for its transition from a low-middle income to a high-middle income country.

 

• The New Development Bank (NDB) of the BRICS countries has approved a $525-million loan to Madhya Pradesh for infrastructure projects.
  • The Board of Directors of the NDB approved a $350-million loan for the Major District Roads Project II of Madhya Pradesh and $175 million for building and upgrading 350 bridges.

AWARDS

• Film Federation of India (FFI) announced that, Assamese movie “Village Rockstars” has been selected to represent India in the Best Foreign Language category at the 91st Academy Awards 2019.

APPOINTMENTS

• Former Member of Parliament of India and cine artist Jaya Prada has been appointed Goodwill Ambassador for the promotion of Nepal tourism.
  • The government has decided to observe the year 2020 as the ‘Visit Nepal Year’ campaign and has set a target of welcoming two million tourists at home.

 

SPORTS

• The Women’s Boxing World Championships, to be hosted by India after more than a decade, will be held in New Delhi. The AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships will be held in New Delhi in November 13-25.

 

• India settled for the silver medal after losing to Pakistan 2-3 in the final of the Asian Team Snooker Championship in Doha after Babar Masih put a fluent 81 break to win the first frame against Pankaj Advani.

 

• Blind chess player Vaishali Narendra Salavkar will become the first Indian female to be part of the International Braille Chess Association (IBCA) team at the world chess Olympiad, starting September 23 at Batumi in Georgia.
  • Forty-five year old Vaishali from Maharashtra has been playing chess for the past 20-25 years. She is an eight-time national champion.
