சர்வதேச உயிரியல் பூங்கா சங்கத்தில் வண்டலூர் பூங்காவுக்கு உறுப்பினர் அங்கீகாரம் அளிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
பூங்கா கல்வி, விலங்கு பரிமாற்றம், அழிநிலையில் உள்ள விலங்குகளின் இனவிருத்தி செய்வதில் மற்ற இந்திய பூங்காக்களுக்கு ஒரு முன்மாதிரியாக செயல்படுகிறது.
மறைந்த முன்னாள் தமிழக முதல்வர் அண்ணாவின் பெயர் சூட்டப்பட்டு 1985-ம் ஆண்டு தொடங்கப்பட்டது.
இதன் மொத்த பரப்பளவு 602 ஹெக்டர்கள் ஆகும்.

நாடு முழுவதும் அமைக்கப்பட உள்ள “ஏகலைவன்” மாதிரிப்பள்ளிகளுக்கு அடிக்கல் நாட்டினார் பிரதமர் மோடி.

நாடு முழுவதும் சிறிய மற்றும் பெரிய அளவிலான உணவு பூங்காக்கள் அமைக்க உலக வங்கியுடன் புரிந்துணர்வு ஒப்பந்தம் மேற்கொண்டுள்ளது மத்திய அரசு.
இத்திட்டத்திற்கு ரூ.3,000 கோடி நிதி வழங்க உலக வங்கி ஒப்புதல் அளித்துள்ளது.

இருப்பினும், சீனாவை விட உலக அளவில் மிக வேகமாக வளர்ச்சி கண்டு வரும் பொருளாதாரமாக இந்தியா உள்ளது என்றும் தெரிவித்துள்ளது.
சர்வதேச நிதியத்தின் சிறப்பு பொருளாதார ஆலோசகராக இந்தியாவைச் சேர்ந்த கீதா கோபிநாத் உள்ளார்.
