இந்திய நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• கிராமப்புறங்களில் உள்ள இளைஞர்கள் நகரங்களை நோக்கி இடம்பெயர்வதை தடுப்பதற்காகவும், அவர்களுக்கு வேளாண்மையில் ஈடுபாடு அதிகரிப்பதற்காகவும், இந்திய வேளாண்மை ஆராய்ச்சி கழகம் மாயா(MAYA – Motivating and Attracting Youth in Agriculture) என்ற பெயரில் ஆராய்ச்சி ஒன்றை நடத்த உள்ளது.

 

 

• நாட்டில் உள்ள அரசு மற்றும் தனியார் பள்ளிகளில் குடிநீர், தூய்மை, சுகாதாரம் ஆகியவற்றை மையமாகக் கொண்டு 2016 -2017ம் கல்வி ஆண்டு முதல் – தேசிய, மாநில அளவில் தூய்மை பள்ளி விருது(ஸ்வத் வித்யாலயா) மத்திய மனிதவள மேம்பாட்டு சார்பில் வழங்கப்பட்டு வருகிறது.
  • 2017 – 2018ம் கல்வி ஆண்டில் தேசிய அளவில் விருது பெற 52 பள்ளிகள் தேர்வு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது. இந்தப் பட்டியலில் புதுச்சேரி கூனிச்சம்பட்டு அரசு தொடக்கப்பள்ளி 100 சதவீத புள்ளிகள் பெற்று நாட்டிலேயே முதலிடம் பிடித்துள்ளது.

 

 

உலக நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• சர்வதேச விண்வெளி நிலையத்திற்கு ஐக்கிய அரபு அமீரகம் சார்பில் முதல் முறையாக இரண்டு வீரர்கள் அனுப்பப்பட உள்ளனர். அவர்களது பெயர்கள் பின்வருமாறு:
  • ஹஸ்ஸா அல் மசூரி மற்றும் சுல்தான் அல் நேயாதி ஆகிய இரு வீரர்களும் விண்வெளிக்கு அனுப்பப்பட உள்ளனர்.
• குறிப்பு
  • செவ்வாய் கிரகத்தை ஆய்வு செய்வதற்காக Hope Mars Mission என்ற பெயரிலான திட்டம் 2021ம் ஆண்டுக்குள் செயல்படுத்தப்படும் என UAE அறிவித்துள்ளது.

 

 

• சர்வதேச மகளிர் தொழில் முனைவோர் உச்சி மாநாடு – 2018, நேபாளத்தின் தலைநகர் காத்மண்டுவில் செப்டம்பர் 03 முதல் செப்டம்பர் 05 வரை நடைபெற்றுள்ளது.
  • இம்மாநாட்டின் கருத்துரு: சமத்துவம் பொருளாதார ஆற்றல் மூலம் தொடங்குகிறது (Equality begins with Economic Empowerment)

 

 

• பாகிஸ்தான் அதிபர் மம்னூன் ஹீசைனான் பதவிக்காலம் முடிவுக்கு வருவதையொட்டி புதிய அதிபருக்கான தேர்தல் செப்டம்பர் 04 நடைபெற்றது.
  • இதில் பாகிஸ்தான் தெஹ்ரீக்-இ-இன்சாப் கட்சி சார்பில் போட்டியிட்ட ஆரிப்-உர்-ரஹ்மான்-ஆல்லி 13வது அதிபராக பொறுப்பேற்க உள்ளார்.

• பேரிடர் மேலாண்மைக்கு பெரிதும் பயன்படும் வகையில் வடதுருவத்தில் தனது முதல் அயல்நாட்டு ஆய்வுக் கூடத்தை இஸ்ரோ அமைக்க உள்ளது.
  • இந்தியன் தொலை உணர்வு திறன் செயல்பாடுகளை இதன் மூலம் அதிகரிக்க முடியும்

  • இந்தியாவின் முன்னாள் குடியரசுத் தலைவரான டாக்டர். ராதா கிருஷ்ணனின் பிறந்த நாளான செப்டம்பர் 5ம் தேதி நாடு முழுவதும் ஆசிரியர் தினமாக கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது.
  • இந்தியாவில் 1962ம் ஆண்டு முதல் ஒவ்வொரு வருடமும் செப்டம்பர் 05ம் தேதி ஆசிரியர் தினமாக கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது.

ENGLISH CURRENT AFFAIRS

 

NATIONAL NEWS

• NITI Aayog Chief Executive Officer Amitabh Kant announced that India will shortly unveil a One Nation-One Card policy for public transport that will entail connectivity between various modes of transport. The announcement was made at a function on Future Mobility Summit-2018 in New Delhi.

 

• The road transportation segment alone contributes to around 4% of country’s GDP with the segment still being heavily dependent on fossil fuels.

 

• Conference on E-Mobility in Indian Railways was held in New Delhi. The conference was held to discuss strategies for future of mobility in India and to make Indian Railways more efficient, greener and a preferred mode of transport.

 

• This conference was conducted by Indian Railways, in partnership with NITI Aayog, as part of the ‘Mobility Week’observed from 31 August to 6 September 2018.

 

• Indian Ocean Wave Exercise 2018 (IOWave18) began in the Indian Ocean. It is a major Indian ocean-wide tsunami mock drill consisting of evacuation of residents of coastal areas, in the 2018 version, India along with 23 nations is participating in it.
  • It is being organized by Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) of UNESCO.

 

• The Indian Council of Agricultural Research, ICAR has organized a two-day conference on Motivating & Attracting Youth in Agriculture (MAYA). Under this scheme, special efforts are being taken up to attract the rural youth under the age of 35 years in agriculture so that the increase in the migration of rural youth towards cities is controlled.

 

• The International Aviation Summit began in New Delhi, India. The seminar has been jointly organised by the Airports Authority of India, Ministry of Civil Aviation and International Air Transport Association (IATA).
  • Union Minister for Civil Aviation Suresh Prabhu announced that the Civil Aviation Ministry is coming up with Vision 2035 under which it plans to build 100 new airports across India in the next 10-15 years with an investment of USD 60 billion and address the major issues concerning aviation industry such as airport infrastructure, taxation and use of technology.

 

INTERNATIONAL NEWS

• Indo-Kazakhstan Joint Army Exercise ‘KAZIND’ will be conducted between the Indian and Kazakhstan Army from 10 to 23 Sep 2018 in Otar region, Kazakhstan. This is the third joint military exercise between the two countries which have a history of extensive cooperation in the defence arena. The second edition of the exercise was held in India.

 

• The aim of the exercise is to build and promote bilateral Army to Army relations and exchange skills and experiences between Kazakhstan Army and the Indian Army.

 

• The International Women Entrepreneurs Summit 2018 is being held in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. Vice President of Nepal Nanda Bahadur Pun inaugurated the summit. The theme of the 3-day event is “Equality begins with Economic Empowerment”.

 

ECONOMY

• National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has sanctioned Rs 335 crore under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) to West Bengal.

 

• Mauritius remained the top source of foreign direct investment (FDI) into India in 2017-18 followed by Singapore, whereas total FDI stood at $37.36 billion in the financial year, a marginal rise over the $36.31 billion recorded in the previous fiscal, according to RBI data.

 

• The Reserve Bank of India directed all scheduled commercial banks with more than 10 branches to appoint an internal ombudsman. Regional rural banks are not included in this directive. This was done to ensure that the complaints of the customers are redressed.

 

• This was done under the ‘Internal Ombudsman Scheme, 2018’ which gives ombudsman statutory powers under section 35 A of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949.

 

APPOINTMENTS

• Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Arif-ur-Rehman Alvi was elected as the 13th President of Pakistan, the result data from the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) The elections were held simultaneously at the Parliament House and the four provincial assemblies, with 27 of the total votes cast being annulled.

 

SPORTS

• India’s Om Prakash Mitharval clinched gold in the men’s 50m pistol event at Changwon (South Korea), claiming his country’s third gold medal at the ISSF World Championships in Changwon, South Korea.

 

• Anjum Moudgil and Apurvi Chandela became the first set of Indian shooters to secure quota places for the 2020 Olympics by winning a silver and finishing fourth respectively in the women’s 10m air rifle event of the ISSF World Championship in Changwon, South Korea.

 

• Japanese swimmer Rikako Ikee became the first female athlete to be named the Most Valuable player in the 18th Asian Games by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA).
