தேசிய நிகழ்வுகள்

 

 

  • ஐக்கிய நாடுகளால் வெளியிடப்படும் உலக பொருளாதார சூழ்நிலை மற்றும் வாய்ப்புகள் அறிக்கை – 2019இன் மத்திய ஆண்டு அறிவிப்பின் படி 2020-ஆம் ஆண்டில் இந்திய பொருளாதாரம் 7.1% வளர்ச்சி அடையும் என்று எதிர்பாக்கப்படுகிறது.
    • இது வலுவான உள்நாட்டு நுகர்வு மற்றும் முதலீடு ஆகியவற்றால் ஆதரிக்கப்படுகிறது.

 

சர்வதேச நிகழ்வுகள்

 

  • இயற்கை பத்திரிக்கையால் நடத்தப்பட்ட ஆய்வின் படி, சீனா தொடர்ந்து ஓசோனை அழிக்கும் பொருளான CFC-11 ஐ பயன்படுத்தி வருவது தெரியவந்துள்ளது.
    • இது 2010ஆம் ஆண்டு கையெழுத்திடப்பட்ட மானடெரியல் நெறிமுறை (Montreal Protocol)-க்கு எதிர்ப்பானதாகும்.

 

  • சமீபத்தில் ஐக்கிய நாடுகளின் சர்வதேச தொழிலாளர் அமைப்பு (ILO) வெளியிட்டுள்ள அறிக்கையின் படி பாலின பன்முகதன்மையை மேம்படுத்தும் நிறுவனங்களில் இலாபம் அதிகரிக்கிறது மற்றும் அதுஉயர்ந்த தரத்தை அடைகிறது.
    • அந்த அறிக்கையின் பெயர் – “பெண்களின் வர்த்தகம் மற்றும் மேலாண்மை : மாற்றத்திற்கான வணிக நிலை”

 

  • ஆசிய வளர்ச்சி வங்கி (ADB) இந்தியாவின் ரயில் பாதையை மின்மயமாக்கும் திட்டத்திற்கும் ஒப்பந்தம் செய்துள்ளது.
    • அதன் கீழ் ADB இந்திய இரயில்வே நிதி கூட்டுதாபனத்திற்கு (IRFC) அமெரிக்க டாலர் மதிப்பில் 750 மில்லியன் வழங்கும் என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

 

  • பிரிட்டிஷ் பிரதம மந்திரி தெரசா மே பதவியை ராஜினாமா செய்யவுள்ளார். அவர் ஜூன் 7 அன்று பதவி விலகுவார்.

 

 

விளையாட்டு நிகழ்வுகள்

 

  • கௌஹாத்தியில் நடைபெற்ற 2019-ஆம் ஆண்டு சர்வதேச ஓபன் குத்துச்சண்டை போட்டியில் இந்தியா மொத்தமாக 57 பதக்கங்களை பெற்றுள்ளது.
    • 12 தங்கம், 18 வெள்ளி மற்றும் 27 வெண்கலமாகும்.
    • மேரி கோம், சிவா தாபா, எல்.சரிதா தேவி மற்றும் நமன் தான்வர் தங்கம் வென்றுள்ளது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

 

 

அறிவியல் மற்றும் தொழில்நுட்பம்

 

  • தரை வழி தாக்கும் ஏவுகணையான “ஷாஹின் – II” (Shaheen – II) ஏவுகணை வெற்றிகரமாக பாகிஸ்தானால் சோதனை செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது.
    • இது அரபிக் கடலில் தாக்கியது என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

 

  • சீனா அதன் முதல் ஆராயப்பட்ட பல செயல்பாடுகளை கொண்ட JF-17 தண்டர் போர் விமானத்தை பாகிஸ்தான் விமான படைக்கு அளித்துள்ளது.

NATIONAL NEWS
 

The 2019 Lok Sabha elections witnessed a voter turnout of 10% (interim), which is the highest ever voter turnout in the history of general elections, as per Election Commission of India. The previous highest voter turnout of 66.44% was recorded in 2014.
The highest voter turnout was recorded in the first phase when 69.61 per cent of the electorate voted.

INTERNATIONAL NEWS
 

The World Health Organization has certified Algeria and Argentina as malaria-free, following three consecutive years where no new cases of the deadly disease have been reported.
The World Health Organization reports Algeria is the second country in Africa to be recognized as malaria-free after Mauritius, which was certified in 1973.

ECONOMY
 

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDAI) have announced initiatives to encourage tech startups, especially fintech, by making data and systems available to them through the regulatory sandbox (RS).

SPORTS
 

Sethu FC beat Manipur Police by SC 3-1 to win the Indian Women’s League trophy. Sethu FC from Madurai emerged champions of the third edition of the Indian Women’s League at the Guru Nanak Stadium in Ludhiana.

APPOINTMENTS
 

In Andhra Pradesh, YSR Congress Chief Jagan Mohan Reddy will be sworn in as chief minister of Andhra Pradesh on 30th of this month at Vijayawada.

Jagan Mohan Reddy has announced this following his party achieving inching towards a landslide victory in the legislative elections for Andhra Pradesh Legislative assembly held on April 11th.

AWARDS
 

Bharti AXA Life Insurance, a private life insurer, has been conferred with the FICCI Claims Excellence Award. The recognition comes for its customer-friendly claims services in the life insurance sector.
The insurer improved its individual claim settlement ratio, the number of claims paid to the number of claims received, to 96.85 per cent in financial year 2017-18.
