  • தமிழகத்தில் தென்மேற்கு பருவ மழை தொடங்கியது.
    • ஜுன் மாதம் தொடங்கி செப்டம்பர் வரை நான்கு மாதங்கள் நீடிக்கும்.
    • மேற்கு தொடர்ச்சி மலையை ஒட்டிய மாவட்டங்கள் இம்மழையால் பயன்பெறும்.

 

இந்திய நிகழ்வுகள்

 

  • அனைத்து விவசாயிகளுக்கும் நிதியுதவி அளிக்கும் அறிக்கையை மத்திய அரசு வெளியிட்டுள்ளது.
    • பிரதமர் விவசாயிகள் நிதியுதவி திட்டத்தை (பிஎம் – கிசான்) விரிவுபடுத்த மத்திய அரசு ஒப்புதல் அளித்துள்ளது.
    • பிஎம் – கிசான் திட்டத்தின் மூலம் 14.5 கோடி விவசாயிகள் பயன்பெறுவர்

 

  • இந்தியா – மாலத்தீவுகள் இடையே 6 ஒப்பந்தங்கள் கையெழுத்தானது.
    • நீர் நிலைகள், சுகாதாரம், கடல் சார்ந்த சரக்கு போக்குவரத்து, சுங்கத்துறை, குடிமைப்பணி பாதுகாப்பு என 6 துறைகளில் புரிந்துணர்வு ஒப்பந்தம் போடப்பட்டது.
    • மாலத்தீவு சுற்றுலா துறையை மேம்படுத்தும் வகையில் மாலத்தீவுகள் “ரூபே” (RUPAY) அட்டையை அறிமுகப்படுத்தினார் மோடி.

 

  • ஜுன் 21-ல் சர்வதேச யோகா தின விழா முக்கிய நிகழ்ச்சியை ராஞ்சியில் நடத்த மத்திய அரசு முடிவு செய்துள்ளது.
    • பிரதமர் மோடி பங்கேற்பு.
    • மத்திய சுகாதாரத்துறை அமைச்சகம் இந்நிகழ்ச்சியை ஏற்பாடு செய்கிறது.

  • இந்தியாவுக்கு ஆளில்லா போர் விமானங்களை விற்பனை செய்ய அமெரிக்கா ஒப்புதல் அளித்துள்ளது.
    • பாதுகாப்பு தடவாளங்கள் தொடர்பான அதிநவீன தொழில் நுட்பங்களையும் இந்தியாவுக்கு வழங்க விருப்பம்.
    • கடந்த 2017-ம் ஆண்டு இது தொடர்பான ஒப்பந்தம் அமெரிக்க அதிபர் டிரம்ப் மற்றும் மோடிக்கு இடையில் கையெழுத்தானது.

NATIONAL NEWS

  • British Prime Minister Theresa has officially stepped down as the leader of the Conservative Party but will remain as Prime Minister until her successor is chosen.She had announced to resign on 24th of last month.
    • May has stepped down amid mounting pressure over her repeatedly defeated Brexit deal.

 

  • To mark the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Indian Embassy in Saudi organized ‘Gandhi Cycle Rally for Peace’ in association with the Diplomatic Quarter Authority and Saudi Cycling Federation.
    • The rally was flagged off by DrAusaf Sayeed, Ambassador of India to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

 

  • The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has imposed a monetary penalty of Rs 2 crore on Kotak Mahindra Bank for non-compliance of directions.
    • The Central Bank had in March directed Kotak Mahindra Bank to furnish information about details of the shares held by its promoters and to submit details of the proposed course of action/ plans/ strategy for complying with the permitted timeline for dilution of promoter shareholding.

 

INTERNATIONAL NEWS

  • Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has launched a Fiscal Performance Index (FPI) to assess state and central budgets.The Index incorporates qualitative assessments of revenue expenditure, capital expenditure, revenues, fiscal prudence and the level of public debt arrive at a more holistic picture of fiscal performance than the fiscal deficit to GDP ratio according to the CII.

 

APPOINTMENTS

  • Former Chief Election Commissioner N. Gopalaswami has been appointed as an electoral officer for the BCCI’s Annual General Meeting.
    • The Committee of Administrators (CoA) had last month announced that the long-awaited elections of the BCCI will be held on 22nd October.

 

SPORTS

  • Indian archers secured two quota places each in the recurve and compound sections for next year’s Tokyo Paralympics after dishing out superb performances at the World Para Championships in the Netherlands.
    • Punjabi University’s Harvinder Singh and Uttar Pradesh’s VivekChhikara finished joint ninth to bag the two available berths in the recurve men’s open section.
