• புதுடெல்லியில் இரண்டாவது முறையாக பிரதமர் மோடி அவர்களது தலைமையிலான மத்திய அரசு “மிஷன்- 2022” என்ற திட்டத்தை வெளியிட்டுள்ளனர்.
  • இதன் மூலம் 1000 நாட்களில் வீடு, சாலைவசதி, குடிநீர் வசதிகள் போன்ற 75 முக்கிய அம்சங்கள் நாட்டு மக்கள் அனைவருக்கும் கிடைக்க வேண்டும் என்பதே குறிக்கோளாகும்.

 

• ரஷ்யாவிலிருந்து முதல் சுற்றுலா இரயில் சேவை ரஷ்யாவின் ஆர்டிக் பகுதிக்கு தொடங்கியது
  இது செயின்ட் பீட்டர்ஸ்பர்க் இரயில் நிலையத்திலிருந்து தொடங்கப்பட்டது.
  • இந்த இரயில் “சாரன் கோல்டு (zarengold))” என்பதாகும்.

 

• சுற்றுச்சூழல் அமைச்சர் பிரகாஷ் ஜவடேகர் உலக சுற்றுச் சூழல் தினத்திற்காக ஒரு மக்கள் பிரச்சாரத்தை தொடங்கினார்.
  • #Selfiewtsapling என்னும் இந்த பிரச்சாரத்தில் அனைவரும் சேர்ந்து மரக்கன்றுகளை நட்டு அதனுடன் சுயபடம் எடுத்து சமூக ஊடங்களில் பதிவு செய்வதை வலியுறுத்துகின்றது.

• அயர்லாந்தின் டப்ளினில் நடைபெற்ற இறுதிப் போட்டியில் அயர்லாந்தை வெற்றி பெற்றதன் மூலம் இந்திய ஜீனியர் மகளிர் ஹாக்கி அணி காண்டர் ஃபிட்ஸ்ஜெரால்ட் ரு21 U21 (Cantor Fitzgerald U21)சர்வதேச பட்டத்தை வென்றது.

• இந்தியாவில் ஒடிசாவில் சாந்திபூரில் இருந்து பிரம்மோஸ் சூப்பர்சோனிக் கப்பல் ஏவுகணை வெற்றிகரமாக சோதனை செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது.

• ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் பொதுச்சபை (UNGA)- இன் 74 வது அமர்வின் தலைவராக நைஜீரியாவின் ஐ.நா தூதுவர்டிஜானி முஹம்மது- பந்தே (Tijjani Muhammad- Bande) தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டார்.

வர்த்தக நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• இந்திய ரிசர்வ் வங்கியின் நிதிக் கொள்கை கூட்டத்தில், ‘ரெப்போ’ என்ற குறுகிய கால கடன்களுக்கான வட்டி விகிதம், 0.25 சதவீதம் குறைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. அதேபோல, வங்கிகளுக்கான வட்டி விகிதமும், 0.50 சதவீதம் குறைக்கப்பட்டடுள்ளது. இணையதள பணப் பரிவர்த்தனை கட்டணங்களையும், ஆர்.பிஐ., ரத்து செய்துள்ளது.
  • இனி ரிசர்வ் வங்கியிடம் இருந்து வங்கிகள் பெறும் கடன்களுக்கான வட்டி (ரெப்போ ரேட்) 5.75 சதவீதமாகவும், வர்த்தக வங்கிகளிடம் இருந்து ரிசர்வ் வங்கி பெறும் கடன்களுக்கான வட்டி (ரிவர்ஸ் ரெப்போ ரேட்) 5.50 சதவீதமாகவும் இருக்கும்.

 

ENGLISH CURRENT AFFAIRS

NATIONAL NEWS

• Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will attend the two-day meeting of G-20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank governors in Japan on June 8 and 9. This will be the first overseas visit of Ms Sitharaman as Finance Minister.
  • Besides Ms Sitharaman, RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das is also likely to attend the meeting at Fukuoka in Japan.

 

• In a bid to spur investment and create new employment opportunities, Prime Minister Narendra Modi set up two Cabinet committees to deal with the two critical issues.
  • Both the panels, respectively on Investment and Growth and on Employment and Skill Development, will be headed by the prime minister.

 

INTERNATIONAL NEWS

• The 2nd Global Disability Summit being held in Buenos Aires, Argentina. ‘Disability Summit, Argentina 2019’, the three-day summit will be held from 6 June to 8 June 2019.
  • India will be represented by the Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment Thaawar Chand Gehlot.

 

• In Nagaland, the scenic Dzükou Valley has become Plastic Free Zone on the occasion of World Environment Day.
  • The much-appreciated initiative on declaring this scenic valley as a ‘plastic-free zone’ was taken by Southern Angami Youth Organisation (SAYO).

 

SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

• China launched a space rocket from the sea for the first time on 5 June 2019. With this China will be the third nation to successfully demonstrate the ability to launch satellites into orbit from a floating platform following the S. and Russia.
  • In the operation, March 11, a Long rocket was launched from a ship in the Yellow Sea.

 

APPOINTMENTS

• In March, the board of the Axis bank had approved appointment of Rakesh Makhija as chairman subject to RBI clearance.
  • Rakesh Makhija, independent director was appointed as the non-executive (part-time) chairman of the bank, for a period of 3 years, with effect from July 18, 2019, up to July 17, 2022.

 

AWARDS

• Veteran actress Sheela was chosen for the prestigious J C Daniel Award. It is the Kerala government’s highest honour for outstanding contribution to Malayalam cinema.
  • The annual honour is named after J C Daniel, who made the first silent movie in Mollywood.
