• பிரதமர் நரேந்திர மோடியின் தலைமையிலான மத்திய அமைச்சரவை 60 வயதை கடந்த சிறிய சில்லறை வணிகர்கள் (ம) கடைக்காரர்களுக்கு மாதாந்திர ஓய்வூதியமாக ரூ.3000-ஐ வழங்கும் திட்டத்திற்கு ஒப்புதல் வழங்கியுள்ளது

 

• ரஷ்யா, சீனா மற்றும் ஆப்பிரிக்க நாடுகளில் இருந்து எதிர்ப்பு இருந்தபோதிலும், ஐ.நா பாதுகாப்பு கவுன்சில் (UNSC) தென் சூடானில் ஒரு ஆண்டுக்கு ஆயுதத்தடையை நீட்டியது
  • இந்த நடவடிக்கை 2020 மே 31வரை அன்று மீண்டும் புதுப்பிக்கப்படும்

 

• இந்திய மருத்துவ கவுன்சில் (ICMR) மின் சிகரெட் உட்பட மின்னணு நிகோடின் டெலிவரி அமைப்புகள் (ENDS) மீதான முழுமையான தடைக்கு பரிந்துரை செய்தது
  • தற்போது கிடைக்கப்பெறும் அறிவியல் சான்றுகளின் அடிப்படையில் இது பரிந்துரைக்கப்படுகிறது
  • 31 மே அன்று அனுசரிக்கப்பட்ட உலக புகையிலை ஒழிப்பு தினத்தின் போது, ICMR,  ENDS மற்றும் மின் சிகரெட்டுகளின் தீங்கு விளைவிக்கும் அபாயத்தை பற்றி வெள்ளை அறிக்கை வெளியிட்டது.

 

• நீர்வள ஆதாரங்கள், நதி அபிவிருத்தி மற்றும் கங்கை புனரமைத்தல், குடிநீர் மற்றும் சுகாதார வசதிக்கான அமைச்சகங்களை இணைத்து ஜல் சக்தி Jal Shakti என்ற புதிய அமைச்சகத்தை மத்திய அரசாங்கம் உருவாக்கியுள்ளது.

  • இந்த நடவடிக்கை ஒரு துறையின் கீழ் நீர் மேலாண்மை மற்றும் கட்டுப்பாட்டின் அனைத்து அம்சங்களையும் கொண்டுவரும் என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது

 

• தேசிய மாதிரி ஆய்வு அலுவலகம் NSSO கடந்த 2017-18 ஆம் ஆண்டு வேலையின்மை குறித்து நடத்தப்பட்ட ஆய்வில், வேலையின்மை நிலவரம் 6.1 சதவீதம் அதிகரித்துள்ளது. இது கடந்த 1972-73ம் ஆண்டுக்குப்பின் மிகப்பெரிய உயர்வாகும் என ஊடகங்களில் செய்தி வெளியானது

 

• முன்னாள் இஸ்ரோ தலைவர் டாக்டர் கஸ்தூரிரங்கன் தலைமையிலான குழுவானது தேசிய கல்வி கொள்கை (NEP) திட்டத்தை மனிதவள மேம்பாட்டு அமைச்சர் ரமேஷ் போக்ரியாலை நிஷாங்கிடம் புது டெல்லியில் சமர்ப்பித்துள்ளது
  • தற்போதுள்ள NEP 1986 ஆம் ஆண்டில் கட்டமைக்கப்பட்டு, 1992 இல் திருத்தப்பட்டது என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது

NATIONAL NEWS

• Assam government has hiked the parental income limit to waive admission fees for students taking admission up to Post Graduate level. Student’s whose parental income is less than 2 lakh rupees per year can avail the benefits.
  • All provincialized government colleges and 5 universities are incorporated under the scheme.

 

• June 2, 2019, marks the fifth Telangana State Formation Day. On 2 June 2014, the area was separated from the northwestern part of Andhra Pradesh as the newly formed 29th state with Hyderabad as its historic permanent capital.
  • It is also known as India’s youngest state.

 

• The Union Cabinet approved the extension of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana to all eligible farmer families, irrespective of the size of their landholding. The scheme for farmers was launched by Modi on February 24.

 

INTERNATIONAL NEWS

• The World Health Organization (WHO) will no longer categorise being transgender as a “mental disorder”. According to the newly-revised version of the International Classification of Diseases (known as ICD-11),published by the WHO, “gender identity disorders” have been reframed as “gender incongruence.”
  • Gender incongruence has now been listed under sexual health conditions.

 

ECONOMY

• India’s Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) equity inflows declined for the first time in six years in 2018-19.
  • Data released by the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion and internal trade showed FDI India declined 1% to $44.4 billion in the year to 31 March.

 

APPOINTMENTS

• In the Central American country of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele has been sworn-in as the nation’s President. Bukele was sworn-in by the Speaker of the National Assembly in downtown San Salvador.
  • Delegations from 83 countries attended the ceremony.

• The Global Day of Parents is observed on the 1st of June every year. The Day was proclaimed by the UN General Assembly in 2012.
