• திருவள்ளுவர் மாவட்டத்தில் உள்ள ஆவடி சிறப்பு நிலை நகராட்சியானது 15வது மாநகராட்சியாக தரம் உயர்த்தப்பட்டது
  • இந்தப் புதிய மாநகராட்சியானது ஒரு மேயர் ஒரு ஆணையம் ஒரு நிலைக் குழு, செயல்பாட்டுக் குழு மற்றும் ஒரு ஆணையரைக் கொண்டிருக்கும்
  • தமிழ்நாடு மாவட்ட நகராட்சிகள் சட்டம், 1920 என்ற சட்டத்தின் விதிமுறைகள் எந்தவொரு விதத்திலும் ஆவடிக்குப் பொருந்தாது
  • ஆவடி மாநகராட்சியின் விதிமுறைகள் கோயம்புத்தூர் நகர மாநகராட்சிக் கழகச் சட்டம், 1981 ஆகியவற்றுடன் பொருந்தி அமைவதாக உள்ளது. எனவே ஆவடி மாநகராட்சிக்காக கோயம்புத்தூர் நகர மாநகராட்சிக் கழகச் சட்டம் 1981- ன் விதிமுறைகள் ஏற்றுக் கொள்ளப்பட்டுள்ளன.

 

சர்வதேச நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• 7- 8 ஜீலை 2019 இல் நைஜரின் தலைநகரமான நியாமியில் நடைபெறவிருக்கும் ஆப்பிரிக்க யூனியன் (AU) உச்சி மாநாட்டை ஏற்பாடு செய்வதற்காக ஆதரவாக இந்தியா முதன்முறையாக நைஜருக்கு 15 மில்லியன் டாலர் நிதி உதவியை வழங்கியுள்ளது
  • நைஜர் AU உச்சிமாநாட்டை நடத்துவது இதுவே முதல் முறையாகும்

 

• கிரின்ஹவுஸ் வாயு வெளியேற்றத்தைக் குறைப்பதற்காக சுற்றுச்சூழலைப் பாதுகாப்பதற்கான ஒரு முக்கிய நடவடிக்கையின் ஒரு பகுதியாக 2030க்குள் புதிய பெட்ரோல் மற்றும் டீசல் வாகனங்கள் விற்பனைக்கு தடை விதிக்க அயர்லாந்து அரசு முடிவு செய்தது.
  • காலநிலை செயல் திட்டத்தில் வெளியிடப்பட்ட ஐரிஷ் அரசாங்கத்தின் 180 நடவடிக்கைகளில் இதுவும் ஒன்று என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது

 

• உலக சுகாதார நிறுவனம் (WHO) “AdoptAWaRe நுண்ணுயிர் எதிர்ப்பிகளை கவனமாகக் கையாளுங்கள்” என்ற உலகளாவிய பிரச்சாரத்தைத் தொடங்கியது.
  • இதில் WHO ஆண்டிமைக்ரோபையல் பரவுவதைக் குறைக்க “AWaRe” (அணுகல், கண்காணிப்பு மற்றும் இருப்பு- Access, watch, and Reserve) என்ற முறையை பயன்படுத்துமாறு அரசாங்கங்களை வலியுறுத்தியுள்ளது

 

விருதுகள்

 

• இந்தியாவின் சிறிய நகரங்களில் புதிதாகப் பிறந்த குழந்தைகளின் உயிரைக் காப்பாற்றிய குறைந்த விலையில், பிறந்த குழந்தை சுவாச சாதனத்தை கண்டுபிடித்த இந்திய பொறியாளரான நிதேஷ் குமார் ஜாங்கிர், லண்டனில் 2019 காமன்வெல்த் பொதுச்செயலாளரின் கண்டுபிடிப்புக்கான நிலையான மேம்பாட்டு விருதை வென்றுள்ளார் (Commonwealth Secretary- General’s Innovation for Sustainable Development Award).

 

• பத்திரிக்கைத் துறையில் தங்களது பங்களிப்பினைச் சிறப்பாக செலுத்தியதற்காக அச்சு மற்றும் மின்னணு ஊடகத்தைச் சேர்ந்த 29 பத்திரிக்கையாளர்களுக்கு மாத்ரி ஸ்ரீ ஊடக விருதுகள் வழங்கி கௌரவிக்கப்பட்டன.
  • மாத்ரி ஸ்ரீ ஊடக விருதுகள் நெருக்கடி நிலைக் காலத்தின் போது ஏற்படுத்தப்பட்டன.
  • இதன் முதலாவது விருது லாலா ஜகத் நாராயண் என்ற பத்திரிக்கையாளருக்கு வழங்கப்பட்டது.

 

வர்த்தக நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• கடந்த ஆண்டுகளில் உற்பத்தி மற்றும் வேளாண் துறைகளின் மந்தநிலை காரணமாக நடப்பு நிதியாண்டில் (FY20) இந்தியாவின் வளர்ச்சி கணிப்பை 6.8மூ முதல் 6.6% ஆக Fitch ஃபிட்ச் குறைத்தது
  • ஃபிட்ச் மதிப்பீடுகள் ஹியர்ஸ்ட் கார்ப்பரேஷனின் துணை நிறுவனமாகும்

 

 

ENGLISH CURRENT AFFAIRS

NATIONAL NEWS

• Unemployed youth having graduation or equivalent degree will be given unemployment allowance by Rajasthan government.
  • Male applicants will get Rs 3,000/month, while the women and differently-abled will get Rs 3,500/month under Chief Minister Yuva Sambal Yojana from February this year.

• The armies of India and Myanmar carried out a three-week-long coordinated operation from May 16 in their respective border areas named ‘Operation Sunrise 2’. They targeted the militant groups operating in Manipur, Nagaland, and Assam to bust terror camps.

INTERNATIONAL NEWS

• The 5th Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) Summit 2019 was held in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, from 14-15 June 2019.
  • The theme of the 5th Summit is “Shared Vision for a Secure and More Prosperous CICA Region”. India is a member of CICA since 1999.

SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

• The lander and rover meant for India’s second lunar mission Chandrayaan-2 reached the ISRO’s launch pad at Sriharikota. The rover called Pragyan is installed within the lander known as Vikram.
  • Chandrayaan-2 will be launched aboard India’s most powerful booster GSLV-Mark-3 tentatively early in the morning on July 15th with the aim of making the lander to soft-land on the South Pole of the moon by September 6th.

SPORTS

• Afghanistan leg spinner Rashid Khan recorded the worst bowling figures in a ICC World Cup Match after conceding 110 runs in 9 overs against England.
  • Previous record of conceding 105 runs in 12 overs was held by New Zealand’s Martin Snedden.

 

APPOINTMENTS

• Om Birla, a two-time Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) member of Parliament (MP) from Rajasthan, is set to be unanimously elected as the 17th Lok Sabha Speaker.
  • Om Birla was elected to the 17th Lok Sabha from the Kota-Bundi constituency.

• World Refugee Day is observed on 20 June every year to raise awareness about the conditions and problems that refugee faces in their lives.
  • The theme for World Refugee Day 2019 is #Step With Refugees — Take A Step on World Refugee Day.
