• சென்னை, ஓசூர், சேலம், கோயம்புத்தூர், திருச்சி ஆகிய இடங்களில் உள்ள இராணுவ தளவாட தொழிற்சாலைகளை இணைக்கும் வகையில் “இராணுவ தொழில் வழித்தடம்” திருச்சியிலிருந்து தொடங்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
  • கோயம்புத்தூரில் இராணுவ தளவாட கண்டுபிடிப்புகளுக்கான கேந்திரமும் தொடங்கப்பட உள்ளது.

 

 

இந்திய நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• மத்திய அமைச்சரவை, ஆஸ்திரேலியா மற்றும் இந்தியாவின் சுரங்கப் பாதுகாப்பை மேம்படுத்திட குயின்ஸ்லாந்து(ஆஸ்திரேலியா) மகாணத்துடன் புரிந்துணர்வு ஓப்பந்தத்தில் கையெழுத்திடுவதற்கு ஒப்புதலை அளித்துள்ளது.
  • இதன் மூலம் பாதுகாப்பு மேலாண்மையை ஏற்படுத்தவும், சிறந்த பாதுகாப்பு முறைகளில் பாதுகாப்பு பயிற்சி அளிக்கவும் முடியும்.

 

 

• சுற்றுச்சூழல், வனம் மற்றும் பருவநிலை மாற்ற அமைச்சகத்தின்படி, இந்தியாவானது 2019 ஆம் ஆண்டில், பாலைவனமாதலைத் தடுப்பதற்கான ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் ஒப்பந்தத்தின் (United Nations – Convention to Combat Desertification – UNCCD) உறுப்பினர்கள் மாநாட்டின் (Conference of Parties – CoP) 14-வது பதிப்பை நடத்த உள்ளது.

• G77 குழுவின் தலைமைப் பதவியை எகிப்திய அரபுக் குடியரசிடமிருந்து பாலஸ்தீனம் கைப்பற்றி உள்ளது.
  • 2019ல் G77 குழுவின் தலைமைப் பதவியில் பாலஸ்தீனத்தை தேர்ந்தெடுப்பது என அக்குழு உறுப்பினர்களால் செப்டம்பர் 2018ஆம் ஆண்டு முடிவு செய்யப்பட்டது.
  • G77 – 1964, ஜூன் 15ல் உருவாக்கப்பட்டது. தற்போது G77 குழுவில் 134 நாடுகள் உள்ளன.

• ஜனவரி 20, 2019ல் நடைபெற்ற 16-வது டாடா மும்பை மாரத்தான் போட்டிக்கான நிகழ்ச்சித் தூதுவராக ஆறுமுறை உலக பெண்கள் குத்துச்சண்டைப் போட்டியின் சாம்பியனும் ஒலிம்பிக் பதக்கம் வென்றவருமான M.C மேரிகோம் நியமிக்கப்பட்டார்.
  • இப்போட்டி புரோகேம் சர்வதேச நிறுவனத்தால் நடத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது.

• பாகிஸ்தானின் 26-வது தலைமை நீதிபதியாக பதவியேற்ற ஆசிப் சையீத் கோஷாவிற்கு, பாகிஸ்தான் குடியரசுத் தலைவர் ஆரிப் அல்வி பதவிப் பிரமாணம் செய்து வைத்துள்ளார்.
  • இவர், தனது தீர்ப்புகளில் இலக்கிய படைப்புகளைச் சுட்டிக் காட்டும் பழக்கத்தால் கவிதை நீதிபதி என அறியப்படுகிறார்.

 

 

பொருளாதார நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• மத்திய நிதியமைச்சகம், ஆண்டு நிதிநிலை அறிக்கையைத் தயாரிக்கும் முறை பற்றி பொது மக்களுக்கு விழிப்புணர்வு ஏற்படுத்த சுட்டுரையில் “உங்கள் பட்ஜெட்டை அறியவும்” (Know Your Budget) என்ற தொடரை தொடங்கியுள்ளது.
  • இதில் பட்ஜெட்டில் உபயோகப்படுத்தப்படும் பல்வேறு வார்த்தைகளின் விளக்கங்கள் கொடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

 

 

முக்கிய தினங்கள்

 

• தேசிய பெண் குழந்தைகள் தினம் – ஜனவரி (24) (National Girl Child day)
  • பெண் குழந்தைகளின் கல்வி, சுகாதாரம் மற்றும் ஊட்டச்சத்து தொடர்பான முக்கியத்துவத்தை மக்களிடையே பரப்புவதற்கு ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் தேசிய பெண் குழந்தைகள் தினம் ஜனவரி 24ல் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது.
  • இந்தாண்டில், “சிறந்த எதிர்காலத்திற்கு பெண்களுக்கு அதிகாரமளித்தல்” என்ற குறிக்கோளுடன் பெண்கள் மற்றும் குழந்தைகள் அமைச்சகம் இத்தினத்தை கடைபிடிக்க உள்ளது.

NATIONAL NEWS

• Tamil Nadu government released ‘Startup & Innovation policy 2018-2023’ with a mission to provide an innovative ecosystem for startups registered in the State and to make Tamil Nadu a ‘Global Innovation hub for startups’ by 2023.

 

• Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced in a video conference on “Ama Gaon, Ama Bikash” a hike of Rs 200 per month in the social security pension under Madhu Babu Pension Yojana (MBPY).
  • The state government launched Madhu Babu Pension Yojana on January 1, 2008, by merging two pension schemes – Old Age Pension and Odisha Disability Pension schemes.

 

• UP government announced to give a monthly pension of Rs500 to the destitute women in This measure came immediately after the implementation of 10 per cent reservation for economically weak in the general category in the upcoming educational year.
  • The pension will be provided to Hindu sadhus who are above the age of 60.This annoucement was made when Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh is hosted Kumbh Mela 2019.

 

• Government decided to induct 20% women in military police. This decision is taken with motive to represent women in the armed force, they will be appointed for the first time in Personnel Below Officer Rank, PBOR.
  • Their job criteria would be investigating offences like rape cases, policing cantonment and extending support to the civil police whenever needed.

 

• Government approved Setting up of Three Naval air Squadrons in Gujarat and TamilNadu. This Decision is taken to enrich the Indian Navy’s Overall Strength.
  • In addition to this approval Government of India also approved recruitment of ManPower for Dornier Surveillance Squadrons located in Kerala and Andaman Islands.

 

• The 3 day event of the 15th edition of Pravasi Bhartiya Divas begins at Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh for the first time.
  • ‘Role of Indian Diaspora in building New India’ is the theme for this year.

 

INTERNATIONAL NEWS

• The 48th WEF –World Economic Forum annual meet had begun in Davos, Switzerland.
  • ‘Globalization 4.0: Shaping a Global Architecture in the Age of the Fourth Industrial Revolution’ is the theme of the event.

 

• The 4th edition of Arab Economic and Social Development Summit held in Lebanon capital
  • The summit aimed to make a joint statement on a 29-item agenda that ranges from discussions on an Arab free trade zone and the economic effect of Syrian refugees on host countries.

 

SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY

• A powerful Delta 4 Heavy rocket carrying a S. spy satellite lifted off from California. The central core booster Aerojet Rocket dyne RS-68A engine continued fired until the upper stage single RL10B-2 engine ignited to continue the climb to space.
  • This was the second attempt after the launch was postponed because of a communication problem between the control center and the launch site.

 

ECONOMY

• Government has taken decision to make Euro 6 Emission standards necessary for the initial launch of vehicles from 1 April 2020. Union Minister for Transport Nitin Gadkari made the announcement while addressing Symposium of International Automotive Technology 2019 in Pune.

 

AWARDS

• The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) named Rio de Janeiro, a city in Brazil as the World Capital of Architecture for 2020.

 

• The Bhartiya Janta Party Lok Sabha Member from Hamirpur in Himachal Pradesh, Anurag Thakur was presented the Sansad Ratna Award for his performance as a parliamentarian.

 

APPOINTMENT

• Shri Indu Shekhar Jha was appointed the member of Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) and Shri Lalchharlian Pachuau was appointed as a member of Joint Electricity Regulation Commission for Manipur and Mizoram by Power Ministry.

 

SPORTS

• The Khelo India Youth Games concluded at the Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Balewadi in Pune with the host Maharashtra leading the medals table by winning a mammoth 85 gold, 62 silver and 81 bronze for a total of 228 medals in the Games.
  • With a total of 228 medals, hosts Maharashtra also walked away with the Overall Trophy at the Khelo India Youth Games.
