‘கஜா’ புயல் பாதித்த பகுதிகளை சீரமைத்து கட்டமைக்க தனிப்பிரிவு தொடங்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. இதற்கான திட்டங்களைச் செயல்படுத்தவுள்ள அந்தப்பிரிவுக்கு, ‘கஜா புயல் மறுகட்டுமானம், மறுசீரமைப்பு மற்றும் பேரிடரில் இருந்து மீளுதல்’ என பெயரிடப்பட்டுள்ளது. இந்தப் பிரிவுக்கென தனியாக 2 IAS அதிகாரிகள் நியமிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளனர்.
இத்திட்டத்தின் இயக்குநராக டி. ஜெகந்நாதன் நியமிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார். அவர் தமிழ்நாடு பாடநூல் கழகம் மற்றும் கல்வியியல் சேவைகள் கழகத்தின் நிர்வாக இயக்குநராக உள்ளார்.
சாகித்ய அகாதெமி விருதுக்கு தலைசிறந்த எழுத்தாளரான எஸ்.ராமகிருஷ்ணன் தேர்வு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளார்.
இது அவர் எழுதிய சஞ்சாரம் என்ற நாவலுக்கு மத்திய அரசினால் வழங்கப்பட்டது.

ஜெர்மனியில் உள்ள முனிச் நகரத்தில் நடந்த சர்வதேச துப்பாக்கி சுடுதல் கூட்டமைப்பின் (ISSF) பொதுக்குழு கூட்டத்தில், 4 துணைத் தலைவர்களுக்கான தேர்தல் நடத்தப்பட்டது. பஞ்சாப் மாநில முதலமைச்சர் அமரீந்தர் சிங்கின் மகன் ரணிந்தர் சிங், துணைத்தலைவராக தேர்வானார். இதன்மூலம் சர்வதேச துப்பாக்கி சுடுதல் கூட்டமைப்பில் துணைத்தலைவராக நியமிக்கப்பட்ட முதல் இந்தியர் என்ற பெருமையை அவர் பெற்றார்.
2009ம் ஆண்டு டிசம்பர் மாதம் முதல் இந்திய தேசிய துப்பாக்கி சுடுதல் சங்கத்தின் (NRAI) தலைவராக ரணிந்தர் சிங் இருந்து வருகிறார்.

அசாம் மற்றும் அருணாச்சல பிரதேசத்தின் கிழக்கு பகுதியில் உள்ள பிரம்மபுத்திராவின் வடக்கு மற்றும் தெற்கு கரையோரங்களை இணைக்கும்இந்தியாவின் மிக நீண்ட இரயில்பாதை பாலமானபோகிபல்பாலத்தை, பிரதமர் நரேந்திர மோடிடிசம்பர் 25-ஆம் தேதி திறந்து வைக்க உள்ளார்.
அருணாச்சல பிரதேச எல்லையில் உள்ள தண்டவாளங்களை மேம்படுத்த இந்தியா திட்டமிட்டுள்ள உள்கட்டமைப்பு திட்டங்களில் போகிபல் பாலம் உள்ளது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

இந்த மாநாடு தேசிய தூய்மை கங்கை திட்டம் மற்றும் கங்கை நதி படுகை மேலாண்மை மற்றும் ஆய்வு மையம் சார்பில் தொடங்கப்பட்டது.
இந்த மாநாடு நாடு முழுவதும் உள்ள மிகபெரிய நீர்பாசன பிரச்சனைகளை மாநாட்டில் ஆலோசித்து அதற்கான மாதிரி தீர்வுகளை வழங்குவர்.
கங்கை நதிதூய்மை திட்டம் தொடங்கிய ஆண்டு 1985 என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.
முழு கடலோர பாதுகாப்பு கருவியின் வலிமையை சோதிக்க இந்திய கடற்படை அடுத்த மாதத்தில் ஒரு பெரிய அளவிலான கடலோர பாதுகாப்பு பயிற்சியை நடத்த உள்ளது. – “Tropex” என்று கூறுவர்.
இதனை இந்திய கடற்படையின் தலைமை அதிகாரியான அட்மிரல் சுனில் லன்பா அறிவித்தார்.
இது ஜனவரி முதல் தொடங்கி அடுத்த ஆண்டு மார்ச் மாதம் முடிவடையும் என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.
இஸ்ரோவின் ஜிசாட் – 11 (GSAT – 11) செயற்கைக்கோள் வெற்றிகரமாக விண்ணில் நிலை நிறுத்தப்பட்டது.
இது இஸ்ரோவின் மிக அதிக எடை கொண்ட அதிநவீன தகவல் தொடர்பு செயற்கைக் கோளாகும். இதன் எடை – 5854 kg.

UNFCCC (காலநிலை மாற்றத்திற்கான ஐ.நா. கட்டமைப்பு அவை), தரப்புகளின் 24ஆவது மாநாடு (COP 24) ஆனது டிசம்பர் 3-14 வரை போலந்தின் கடோவிஸ் நகரத்தில் நடைபெறுகிறது. இந்த மாநாட்டில், பாரிஸ் ஒப்பந்த செயல் திட்டத்தின் கீழ், பாரிஸ் பருவநிலை ஒப்பந்தத்தை செயல்படுத்துவது தொடர்பான இலக்குகள் நிர்ணயிக்கப்படஉள்ளன.
‘ஆதரவற்றோரை கடத்தி வியாபாரம் செய்தலை – Orphanage Trafficking’ நவீன அடிமைத்தனத்தின் ஒரு வடிவமாக அங்கீகரித்துள்ள உலகின் முதல் நாடாக ஆஸ்திரேலியா மாறியுள்ளது. இதனால், அடிமைத்தனத்தின் ஒரு வடிவமாக குழந்தைகளை வேண்டுமென்றே ஆதரவற்றோர் இல்லத்தில் புகுத்தும் செயலை ஆஸ்திரேலியா குற்றமாக அறிவித்துள்ளது. உலகளவில் இது முதல் நடவடிக்கையாக கருதப்படுகிறது.

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully launched its heaviest and most-advanced high throughput communication satellite, GSAT-11, from the Spaceport in French Guiana.
The launch vehicle, Ariane 5 VA-246, lifted off from Kourou Launch Base carrying India’s GSAT-11 and South Korea’s GEO-KOMPSAT-2A satellites.
The 5854-kg satellite will provide high data rate connectivity.
Union Minister of Science & Technology and Earth Sciences, Dr. Harsh Vardhan, called upon the scientific community in India and ASEAN member states to intensify collaborative research in science, technology and innovation.
The first India-ASEAN InnoTech Summit in New Delhi is organised by FICCI in association with the Department of Science & Technology (DST) and the Ministry of External Affairs.

India’s most-advanced high-throughput communication satellite GSAT-11 was successfully launched from Spaceport in French Guiana. The satellite weighs 5854-kg GSAT-11 and is the heaviest satellite ever built by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). It has a mission life of 15 years.

UAE and India has inked a currency swap agreement, which means businesses can now can do trade using local currencies of rupee and dirham, instead of dollar. Both leaders also agreed to boost cooperation in trade, security and defence.

On the basis of an assessment of the current and evolving macroeconomic situation at its meeting, the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) decided to: keep the policy repo rate under the liquidity adjustment facility (LAF) unchanged at 6.5 per cent and the marginal standing facility (MSF) rate and the Bank Rate at 75 per cent.
CRISIL cut India’s growth forecast for current fiscal to 4 per cent on the back of weakening global GDP and trade growth. India’s growth in the July-September quarter slipped to 7.1 per cent from 8.2 per cent in the April-June quarter.

Admiral Sunil Lanba, PVSM, AVSM, ADC Chief of the Naval Staff, released a book titled ‘Blue Waters Ahoy!’ – chronicling the Indian Navy’s History from 2001-10.
The book has been authored by Vice Admiral Anup Singh, who retired as the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Eastern Naval Command in 2011.
