• முன்னாள் பிரதமர் வாஜ்பாய் பெயரில், தமிழகத்தில் திருவாரூர் மாவட்டம், மன்னார்குடி தேசிய மேல்நிலைப் பள்ளியில் “அடல் டிங்கரிங்” என்ற அறிவியல் தொழில்நுட்ப பயிற்சி ஆய்வகம் அமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
  • இந்த ஆய்வகத்தின் கற்றல், கற்பிக்கும் முறைகள் மட்டுமின்றி மாணவர்களை நேரடியாக அறிவியல் ஆய்வில் ஈடுபடும் வசதியும் ஏற்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது.

  • அறிவியல் ஆய்வு கல்வியை நடைமுறைப்படுத்துவதில் இந்தியாவிலேயே தமிழகம் 2வது இடம் பிடித்துள்ளது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

• ஸ்டான்போர்டு பல்கலைக்கழக பேராசிரியர் “ஏ.ஜே.பால்ராஜ்” தலைமையிலான ஒன்பது பேர் வழிகாட்டும் குழு “Making India 5G Ready” என்ற பெயரில் தனது “5G தொழில்நுட்பம் தொடர்பான உயர்மட்ட அறிக்கை” தொலை தொடர்பு செயலர் அருணா சுந்தர்ராஜன் அவர்களிடம் அளித்துள்ளது.
  • ஆரோக்கியசாமி ஜோசப் பால்ரஸ் (A.J. Paul Raj) இந்திய அமெரிக்க மின்சார பொறியியலாளர் ஆவார். இவர் தமிழ்நாட்டின் பொள்ளாச்சி நகரில் பிறந்தவர் ஆவார்.
• குறிப்பு
  • இந்தியாவில் 2020ம் ஆண்டிற்குள் 5பு தொழில்நுட்பம் வணிக ரீதியாக வெளிவரும் என்பதை இலக்காக இக்குழு கொண்டுள்ளது.

• இந்தோனேஷியாவின் ஜகர்த்தா மற்றும் பாலேம்பங் நகரில் நடைபெற்று வரும் 18-வது ஆசிய விளையாட்டு போட்டியில், ஆடவருக்கான 800 மீட்டர் ஓட்டத்தில் இந்தியாவின் மன்ஜித் சிங் தங்கப் பதக்கம் வென்றுள்ளார்.
  • இந்தியாவின் மற்றொரு வீரரான ஜின்சன் ஜான்சன் வெள்ளிப்பதக்கம் வென்றுள்ளார்.

 

 

நியமனங்கள் 

 

• ஐரோப்பா, ஆசியா மற்றும் ஆஃப்ரிக்கா நாடுகளில் ஐ.நா மேற்கொண்ட பல்வேறு திட்டங்களில் பணியாற்றிய இந்தியாவைச் சேர்ந்த சத்யா எஸ்.திரிபாதி ஐ.நா சபையின் துணைப் பொதுச் செயலாளராக நியமிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார்.
  • மேலும் இவர் ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் சபையின் சுற்றுச் சூழல் திட்டத்தினை (UNEP – United Nation Environment Programme) செயல்படுத்தும் நியூயார்க் அலுவலகத்தின் தலைவராகவும் நியமிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார்.

 

 

• லண்டன் நகரில் உள்ள பிரிட்டன் நாட்டுக்கான இந்திய உயர் தூதராக ஒய்.கே. சின்ஹா பதவி வகித்து வருகிறார். அவரது பதவிக்காலம் நிறைவடையவுள்ள நிலையில், புதிய உயர் தூதராக “ரூச்சி கனஷியாம்” என்பவர் நியமிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார்.

  • அயர்லாந்து நாட்டிற்கான இந்தியாவின் அடுத்த தூதராக “சந்தீப் குமார்” என்பவர் நியமிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

 

விருதுகள்

 

• கவிஞர் வைரமுத்துவின் ‘கள்ளிக்காட்டு இதிகாசம்’ நாவல் கடந்த 2003-ம் ஆண்டு சாகித்ய அகாடமி விருது பெற்றது. சாகித்ய அகாடமி இந்த நாவலை 23 மொழிகளில் மொழிபெயர்த்து வருகிறது.
  • முதலாவதாக, இந்தியில் ‘நாகபனீ வன் கா இதிஹாஸ்’ என்ற பெயரில் இந்த நாவலை எச். பாலசுப்பிரமணியன் மொழியெர்த்து, 2017ல் சாகித்ய அகாடமியால் வெளியிடப்பட்டது.
  • தற்போது, இந்தியில் வெளிவந்த “இந்தியாவின் சிறந்த புத்தகம்” என்ற விருது இப்புத்தகத்திற்கு வழங்கப்பட்டுள்ளதாக மத்திய கலாச்சார அமைச்சகம் வெளியிட்டுள்ளது.

NATIONAL NEWS

• A Coast Guard offshore patrol vessel was launched at L&T Shipyard in Kattupalli in It is the third of series of the seven offshore patrol vessels under construction by L&T Shipbuilding Ltd.

 

• India’s first Indian human mission will be launched by Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) by 2022. The programme will make India the fourth nation in the world to launch a Human Spaceflight Mission.
  • So far, only the USA, Russia and China have launched human spaceflight missions. . PM Modi had earlier announced `Gaganyaan — India’s maiden human spaceflight programme’

 

• An MoU was signed between the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and National Health Agency (NHA), to provide capacity building for Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) to ensure effective rollout and continued quality implementation.

 

• Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Edappadi K. Palaniswami laid the foundation stone for the GMR Krishnagiri Special Investment Region. The ₹2,420 crore project, spread across 2,100 acres, is a joint venture between the Tamil Nadu Industrial Corporation Ltd. (TIDCO) and GMR Group.

 

• Madhya Pradesh forest department has written to the National Tiger Conservation Authority to revive the plan to reintroduce cheetahs in the State’s Nauradehi sanctuary. It was estimated that an amount of Rs 25 crore to Rs 30 crore would be needed to build an enclosure in an area of 150 sq km for the cheetahs in Nauradehi.

 

• To promote rich culture and art of Jharkhand and international art and give recognition to local artists, Jharkhand government held the International water colour festival at the Audrey House in capital city of

 

• The Union Minister of Civil Aviation Shri Suresh Prabhu announced the Drone Regulations 1.0. These regulations will enable the safe, commercial usage of drones starting December 1, 2018.
  • Introduction of the Digital Sky Platform , the first-of-its-kind national unmanned traffic management (UTM) platform that implements “no permission, no takeoff” (NPNT). Users will be required to do a one-time registration of their drones, pilots and owners.

 

• Chief minister Naveen Patnaik launched the ‘Mu Hero…Mu Odisha’ Campaign in Cuttack that aims to recognise exemplary works by Odia boys and girls towards social transformation.
  • Under the campaign, part of the Biju Yuva Vahini programme, six specially-decorated canters will ply in a defined route plan and cover all 314 blocks and 113 urban local bodies over a period of four months.

 

INTERNATIONAL NEWS

• Indian government and the European Union (EU) partnered for 240 crore research programme to develop a Next Generation Influenza Vaccine to protect people throughout the world.
  • EU and the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India, have committed EUR 15 million each to fund for this cause through “Horizon 2020” programme.

ECONOMY

• Prasar Bharati and Mizzima Media Group of Myanmar signed an MoU for cooperation and collaboration in broadcasting and content sharing in New Delhi.

 

• According to Department of Financial Services report, Punjab National Bank (PNB) has been rated it as number one state-owned bank in terms of digital transactions. It is also rated as the sixth overall amongst all banks in India for digital performance.

 

APPOINTMENTS

• Satya S Tripathi, an Indian development economist, has been appointed as the Assistant Secretary General and Head of the New York Office of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).

 

SPORTS

• India’s 28-year-old sprinter Manjit Singh won the gold medal in the men’s 800m event at the 2018 Asian Games, securing the ninth gold for the country.
  • Another Indian sprinter Jinson Johnson, who is ranked first in Asia, won the silver at the event. Meanwhile, Dutee Chand secured herself a place in the women’s 200m finals, while Hima Das was disqualified.

 

• World number three PV Sindhu lost to world number one Tai Tzu-ying (Taiwan) in the women’s singles final to bag India’s first-ever silver medal in badminton at Asian Games. Saina Nehwal had won bronze medal in the event.
