  • Shor Nahin – மொபைல் செயலி – ஒலி மாசுபாட்டை குறைப்பதற்காக ஹிமாச்சல பிரதேச மாநில அரசானது Shor Nahin எனும் மொபைல் செயலியை அறிமுகப்படுத்தியுள்ளது.
    • “Horn not ok” எனும் விழிப்புணர்வு இயக்கத்தையும் ஒலிமாசுபாட்டை குறைக்க ஹிமாச்சல பிரதேச அரசு தொடங்கியுள்ளது.

  • தேசிய பிற்படுத்தப்பட்டோர் ஆணையத்திற்கு (National commission for Backward classes) அரசியலமைப்பு அந்தஸ்து வழங்கும், அரசியலமைப்பு 123வது திருத்த மசோதா (123rd amendment Bill 2017) மக்களவையில் 02-08-2018 அன்று நிறைவேறி உள்ளது.

  • சீனாவை பின்னுக்குத் தள்ளி உலகின் இரண்டாவது மிகப்பெரிய பங்குச் சந்தை (world’s second – biggest stock market) பரிமாற்றங்களைக் கொண்ட நாடாக ஜப்பான் உருவாகியுள்ளது.
    • அமெரிக்காவானது stock market-ல் முதலிடத்தில் உள்ளது.

  • லண்டனில் நடைபெற்ற மகளிர் ஹாக்கி உலக கோப்பை போட்டியில் “நெதர்லாந்து” அணி 8வது முறையாக சாம்பியன் பட்டத்தை கைப்பற்றியுள்ளது.
    • அயர்லாந்து அணி இரண்டாவது இடத்திலும், ஸ்பெயின் அணி மூன்றாவது இடத்திலும் உள்ளது.

  • நாசாவின் முதல் மனித வின்வெளிப் பயணத்துக்கான ஒன்பது பேர் கொண்ட குழுவில் அமெரிக்க வாழ் இந்தியரான “சுனிதா வில்லியம்ஸ்” விண்வெளி பயணத்திற்காக இரண்டாவது முறையாக தேர்வு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளார்.
  • குறிப்பு:
    • விண்வெளியில் இருக்கும் சர்வதேச விண்வெளி நிலையத்தில் இதற்கு முன்னதாக இரண்டு முறை தங்கியிருந்து கடந்த 2012ம் ஆண்டு பூமி திரும்பியவர் சுனிதா வில்லியம்ஸ் என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

  • உலகின் முதல்முறையாக ஒற்றை குரோமோசோம் ஈஸ்டினை (single – chromosome yeast) “சீனா ஆராய்ச்சியாளர்கள் உருவாக்கி சாதனைப் படைத்துள்ளனர்.
    • 16 குரோமோசோம் பெற்றுள்ள ‘Brewer’s yeast-ல் இருந்து அதன் பண்புகள் மாறாத வகையில் இந்த ஒற்றை குரோமோசோம் ஈஸ்ட் பிரிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

NATIONAL NEWS

  • According to a report called N-SIPI (State Investment Potential Index) series by economic think-tank NCAER, Delhi has topped the list and has replaced Gujarat.
    • It was done based on 6 parameters: land, labour, infrastructure, economic climate, governance and political stability and business perceptions.
  • The Top 3 of the List are:
  1. Delhi
  2. Tamil Nadu
  3. Gujarat

 

  • Karnataka government launched ‘Swachha Meva Jayate’ The campaign coincides with the Swachh Survekshan Grameen 2018 (SSG 2018) survey, being undertaken by the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation, under the Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen).
    • The department of Rural Development also released the logo of the campaign: a little boy and a little girl standing in front of the map of Karnataka.

 

  • Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon’ble Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has inaugurated India’s first in-phone guide-Go Whats That at Rock Garden, Chandigarh.
    • GoWhatsThat is a creative platform which enables to view information in a hassle free way and explore the spots with multimedia content in various languages.

 

  • The Indian-origin S. astronaut Sunita Williams is among the nine astronauts named by NASA. They will fly the first missions into space on commercially provided rockets and capsules, starting next year.
    • The nine astronauts will launch on the first crewed test flights and missions of new commercial spacecraft built and operated by The Boeing Company and SpaceX.

 

  • Loksabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan handed over 5 croreth LPG connection under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) to Smt Takrdiran of Delhi in the Parliament House. The 5 crore feat has been achieved in the time period of over 2 years.
    • PM Modi launched Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) on 1st May 2016 and it is implemented by Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas through its Oil Marketing Companies.

 

INTERNATIONAL NEWS

  • AIBD India has been elected as the President of the Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD) for a period of two years. India got elected against Iran during voting which took place at the 44th annual gathering of AIBD in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
    • Director General of All India Radio F. Sheheryar was re-elected as chair of the executive board while Sri Lanka was elected as vice-chair.

 

AWARDS

  • Anvar Sadath is the first Indian to receive the International Contributions Award given by the Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT), USA.
    • He is the vice chairman and executive director of the Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education (KITE) also known as IT@school Project.

 

APPOINTMENTS

  • Man Mohan Bhanot appointed as the next Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to the Republic of Equitorial Guinea.
    • He will be the first resident Ambassador of India to the Republic of Equitorial Guinea.
